The water from the can that you drain to the sink is our cat's favourite treat))). Whenever I cook a tuna or a salmon salad from the can, we call it "a dinner for three": salad for us and a "fish-water" for a cat.

I work in a assisted living facility for elderly folks.i use allot of your recipes to make them meals. Snacks like the oatmeal muffins oatmeal breakfast cookies they love it all today i made the beef skillet recipe it was a hit thank you keep them coming🙂
I love this recipe. I don't do capers so I replace it with one dill pickle spear, chopped and also one tablespoon of dill relish. This is a great lunch for me.
When I make this recipe, I add some lemon to brighten/heighten the flavor profile and additional mayo to give it a creamier mouth feel. It is absolutely divine! I use leftover fresh salmon from the night before. About to make a batch now and give some to a couple of neighbors with fresh Croissants. Yummy!!!

Hello! So I just found you a few weeks ago as I started a fast and needed some good options for clean eating that didn’t include sugar, meat, dairy, and processed foods. I found SO MUCH on your site that my husband and I both enjoyed. Now that my fast is over, we are reincorporating fish and I just made this one. My mouth danced!!! 😊. It’s so refreshing and tasty! I loved it. I just made it and it was delicious. I didn’t have the Persian cucumbers, but I used blanched green beans. I also didn’t have capers on hand, but I had Spanish olives and honestly it was so satisfying. I had the whole can to myself. I loved it. Thank you Dani. I make salmon salad all the time for my husband’s lunch and put in everything you do except I never thought to add capers. If my celery has a lot of leaves, I chop those up and add also.
Your recipe is almost the exact one I used 40 years ago ( less the cucumber that I’m allergic to). It brought back a memory of another Sockeye salmon dish we use to make on scorching hot summer evenings ( no air conditioner). A large can of sockeye ( Red label...won’t say the brand) on a bed of lettuce with he liquid poured over it, surrounded by deviled eggs. Dessert was a wedge of Brie cheese with crackers and seasonal fruit. Yummm😊. This quarantine is making a lot of us food crazy and back to the basic home cooking.

My seafood salads have always consisted of mayo plus the contents of a can plus scavenged items from the fridge. I don't know what inspired me to actually follow a recipe, but I'm glad I did. Maybe it was the persian cucumbers, which I've never used before. This salad is one of those refreshing meals that leaves a lingering feeling of well-being that lasts for hours. How nice that I can make it the same way a second time, LOL!

I looked also at the older videos and I really like to watch how you changed your through time:) and your great recipes also, of course! I must check if I can get a canned salmon, I am buying the tuna can all the time, so this might be a nice change. Here, in the Czech Republic, canned sardines and sprats are the most popular!:)

Thank you for talking about the skin and bones. I'm a senior and I get a box of canned goods from the government once a month and a lot of times there salmon in there. I never know what to do with it. I'm kind of a picky eater and this looks like something that I would enjoy. You were absolutely right, the skin and the bones always freaked me out. EXCELLENT recipe! I love making salmon salad using canned salmon. My preference is Rubinstein's but it has to be red salmon. I find canned pink salmon very off-putting. I usually just do mayo, onion, and a little celery but I will definitely use dill and capers next time. Great video!
