Totally agree about Whitestone! I tried their dome glass on my S21 Ultra and wound up ruining the phone because the adhesive ran off the phone and actually went under the tape into my microphone. I was pissed at myself for trying their product. It was my mistake because I bumped the jig but it just goes to show you a slight bump can cost you $1,200. The phone was 5 months old and I had to replace it. I tried to get in on a S22 Ultra.
Perfect timing cause I've just started looking at some for my wife's S22 Ultra and was dreading about spending $50 or so. I trust your review and just ordered one using your link. Thanks and keep doing what you're doing.
2 questions...1. how far does it go on the curved edges? (can't really see on the video, sorry) 2. Is this the "softer" (tpu?) type of material? The one that marks if you press your nail on it? The one that "drags" the spen tip? I'm looking for one that's smooth and doesn't do what I described 👆. Thank you 🙏
@Olympia Mouriki try Whitestone Dome full tempered glass shield with the liquid dispersion technology. I haven't found any with 100% good reviews.. but I've never had issues with this one. Once you watch the video and learn how to do it, it's easy! You can get a pack with 2 inside!
That the only screen protector I've ever seen on this channel that doesn't have a whole sticker behind the glass in order for the fingerprint sensor to work. Wow. I must get it for me too.
Came all the way back to find this video to say thank you. I purchased after watching your video and you sir are a lifesaver, thank you for the great video and recommendation. This screen protector works magnificently and was super easy to apply. It covers all the edges with ZERO bubbles or lifting.
*It's okay to buy the cheap screen protectors* I bought the whitestonedome kit for almost $40. Shit chipped on the edge in just a few days. Didn't drop the phone or anything. Go with the cheap ones on Amazon!
I'm pretty much with you brother, I'm not the type of user that will take the factory screen protector off and just leave it like that, but on the Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra I will put a film style screen protector over it just for peace of mind even though in my everyday travels I do as much as I possibly can to keep my phone alone in my pocket. Putting other objects in the same pocket with my phone leads to destruction so I avoided at all costs. Those white dome glass screen protectors work pretty well but make a very sticky mess. I put one on my Samsung Galaxy s20 plus and immediately lost my fingerprint scan you have to be very particular on how you place your finger when introducing a new fingerprint into the biometrics it is way too much work if you can just be a little careful.. I do not blame you for not wanting to review those style screen protectors it really is not worth it.
I got the EVG TPU Curved Screen Protectors, 3 for $7. Brought it to my Galaxy Store & they said it's the same they use. Cost me $5 to have professionally installed Bubble free, self repairing for scratches, etc. I can't see it or tell it's on. Finger print sensor works 100% time. Looks like the same protectors just rebranded. 5 stars also on Amazon I also got the individual EGR Rear Lense Protectors for the cameras that are awesome! Works well the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro, Cyber Edition Latercase (I hate) & the Spigen Neo Hybrid Case,. A great case but very slippery in hand. The best case is my Unicorn Beetle Pro
Installed a UniqueMe tpu film which fits great and is easy to install unfortunately tpu only offers you limited protection so I might have check out something like the Whitestone dome
Actually a plastic screen protector is actually better at protecting your phone from drops, it will scratch easier than glass, but glass will break and have a higher chance of cracking your phone screen than a plastic flexible/p.e.t one
I used a Supershieldz brand. When I put it on, there was a few bubbles. I figured it wouldn't bother me too much. After the 2nd day, no bubbles at all. Can't even tell it's on either!
Using the Spigen screen protector currently. My initial intention was to use it until my Whitestone Dome came. However it went on so flawlessly and turned out to be extremely case friendly I think I'm just going to leave it on until it gets messed up enough to replace it. Fingerprint sensor also works flawlessly with it on. Even though Whitestone Dome is hands down the best looking and feeling it 100% affects the fingerprint sensor.
I've been interested in the Whitestone but so many people complain about it. For the price it would be nice if the reviews were better. I know you have to take it with a grain of salt but it's a bit of piece of mind. I prefer glass. I never liked the feel of the film type for some reason.
Great content. I have on my note 20 ultra Amfilm elastic skin screen protector. I've tried a lot of full adhesive and side adhesive screen protectors, and with the cases I use, they would always lift. But, the Amfilm elastic skin screen protector is great. I have no problem taking on and off my cases. I like to switch out my cases. Keep my phone looking fresh.
I purchased another brand recently (*I like a matte screen) and I have one issue with it: it doesn't curve far enough around the edges. I prefer a protector that goes all the way around the curves - like the ones I used to have for my Note 10+. That way, my case edge goes OVER the edge of the protector and holds it down. Downside of that is that I have to be extra careful in putting my cases on. But, I happen to like the 2-piece cases that have a front frame that snaps into the back. So, those aren't ever really a problem. My issue with the ones I bought this time was that they were actually too narrow and BARELY made it over the curve of the screen. Therefore, they weren't covered over by the front frame of my case(s) and ended up having a tendency to pick up dust and lint from my pocket. Within a couple of days, the edges were not stuck anymore. 🙄 That listing on Amazon stated "case-friendly design". Lesson learned. I think they meant that the protector was smaller in order to accommodate different case edges. Darn. Lesson learned. I have another brand of protector on the way. We'll see how that one pans out once I receive it. Hopefully, it's more like the ones I had for my Note 10+. 🤞
Hello I was wondering if these screen protectors are case friendly and if there are cases you recommend staying away from when using this brand protector you reviewed . Thanks
@TechOdyssey Any tempered glass screen protectors that you could recommend *without the awful fingerprint circle* showing? All the ones I've seen has it. I'm a bit careless and always seem to manage to drop my phones.
I bought one just like it on Amazon, probably the same thing different company name. But I agree, it went on very easy and looks great. Can't hardly tell it's there.
How did this screen protector hold up? I'm going to buy the S23 Ultra and I don't really want to buy a glass screen protector as I use a case, and they are prone to lifting when case it installed. I currently have an S21 Ultra and it came preinstalled with a screen protector. Not sure why Samsung stopped doing that. I mean I know they're trying to be more eco-friendly blah blah blah, but then getting one shipped from Amazon in more packaging etc only increases carbon footprint,
After a week of using S22 ultra, its become clear that it is a two hand phone which is fine, having used Note 9 for a year, I get the same goosebumps, although the body of the phone is much more pleasant to hold. But I'm worried about how much fingerprints it will accumulate over time. S21 didn't have such issues. Anyway, Gonna I ordered the screen protector out. S21 passed its inspection and samsung confirmed $450 for trade in value, however now, it's giving $600. I feel so dumb!
I am looking to purchase 1 right now. This 1 helps with scratches but which 1 will protect more if you drop it? I was looking at 1 for $30 it's installed with a liquid adhesive . I haven't used sp in a long time but I've seen videos of broken s22 ultras 🤷♀️. Help, I don't know 😕
In amazon Canada the refun screen protector's price is CAD33 😑 I got the Ringke screen protector, it was CAD14.99 for 2 pack, I ruined the first one (my mistake) but I put the second one ok and it looks great and not really hard to install.
Does this work well with a case? I've gone through 3 TPU screen protectors for my S3 Ultra. All from Amazon, all with the same install method. I was able to get them on easily enough, but every single one has slowly shifted upwards over the course of a few days. Eventually the protector covers the front camera and then starts bubbleing as it rises above the edge. This happens with both the Spigen and other cases
Currently researching screen protectors for the S22 Ultra. I've heard about some having issues with the fingerprint reader, (not using it). Anyone's screen protector having any issues with the S Pen? If so, which ones are you having problems with?
I bought the imbzbk screen protector and as gently as I can I drew on my phone with this screen protector and it leaves lines where I drew that I can still see days later
I chose the Whitestone dome this time. It does look complicated but I've watched a few videos to understand the steps. Hopefully I don't screw it up lol. It's kind of a shame that Samsung stopped putting screen protectors on their phones. I remember getting one with my S10 and S20. I don't think my S21 came with one though, and I hear that the S22 Ultra doesn't either.
