@@EditionszI have had my 2024 Seltos for 6 months now not one issue or recall yet. Has been the best driving car I have owned. Had a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek beforehand, which had 6 recalls while I owned it.

The awd prius is still a better choice imo, same hp, better range at nearly 600miles, less fuel to pump, really same cargo space with the exception of the kia having better head space but to me that's not a dealbreaker..prius takes the cake.

@@vtecondeck3065 okay. Going back to my original comment though, the Kia is hands down the simpler car to drive in today's age of touchscreens and technology. At the end of the day though, I'd still recommend the Honda HR-V in this class. Kia's build quality is 💩 and the HR-V is still relatively straightforward to use. Plus waiting for over a year for a new Prius is absolutely ridiculous.

We chose the Seltos SX in 2022 over the Subaru, Mazda, Kona and have been thrilled with it ever since. It's fun and has plenty of spunk when you want it, especially in sport mode. The hiccup was the lack of wireless Android Auto and Carplay. A wireless dongle solved that (but shouldnt have to).

Nice review guys! I didn't hear you mention the biggest change though. Yes, the increased power is great. But the best news is the new 8 speed transmission. No more DCT for this, which makes it notably smoother than before.

Nice! I bought a 20...20..1(?) Seltos new for my mom and I don't like it for that reason. She loves it to death but I wouldn't recommend it. If they've fixed that then Kia has a solid vehicle on their hands.

@@johnholst I agree. I do think it's driver input that makes it herky jerky at low speeds. It the accelerator is modulated like you're driving a manual trans at low speeds, it works just fine.

Great review. Just a suggestion- Can you compare this with the Corolla Cross Hybrid? It has better gas mileage however, it doesn't have the same amount of interior color options. Additionally, the Seltos is more roomy and they are both in the subcompact SUV segment.

For the reviews, would it be possible to add a look at reliability and issues from prior years and if there are any changes to fix those issues. I love the look, but worry about if the car is going to implode in the future years, at least with Toyota you know there is a better chance that your vehicle will age well, and your resale value will be better.

Love you guys. Best reviews anywhere. Big however.. I trusted you guys about Hyundai and Kia cars and I bought a 2018 Santa Fe XL. Great features, great price, but it turns out they blow engines after 100,000 km and Hyundai ghosts me then after months agrees to pay for a short block only and repair will still cost me 11 grand plus tax. Hyundai Canada won’t talk to me won’t reply to an email and only the dealer does, and they almost laugh off how horrible most of their engines are. There are thousands of owners in FB groups etc saying what no mainstream car reviewers are saying. Don’t whatever you do buy a Hyundai or Kia until they address their engine problems.

The manual is awesome because it's half a second slower to 60, 4-5MPG lower/20% worse, *AND* two categories higher in emissions than the DCT.

This Kia crossover will not be much smoother than your golf. “Big” SUV’s are body on frame trucks with a built in topper. They are the smoothest. A good suv doesn’t feel big while ur driving. Most of them are fast as well as smoothe.

Allegedly, according to my salesperson, my '22 Rio is the first Kia with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto standard. It's so weird to know that the highest trim '24 Seltos still doesn't have that.

It’s due to the fact the higher trim kias have built in navigation, only the cheap kias with no navigation have wireless car play, it’s a design flaw with the chips

could you discuss or disclose the likelihood of this or any new cars, on how soon after purchase does the customer keep the vehicle outside for the inevitable fire potential maybe recall. also anyone else agree with me in that when automakers tout "best in initial quality" or statements of the like, it is the dumbest thing to gloat (stated as first 12 to 18 months or something). I would hope that my multi 10s of thousands of dollars spend on a new car have some kind of standard expected quality. I worked in the dealership level auto industry and that always annoyed me to hear.

I think it looks great. Mature and upscale. I love the newly available Pluton Blue paint, but I'm so disappointed it can only be had with an all-black interior (ick) and can't be had with the handsome Brown SynTex interior, as shown here. I also dislike that the price increased a couple thousand dollars for the "S" trim over the 2023 model in the U.S. Manufacturers need to quit driving up prices by leaps and bounds.

This car sells like hotcakes in India. Looks, Features, Quality and lots of powertrain options. A simple test drive and that seals the deal. Very good car imo. Although we get the 160hp motor with a DCT here in India.

Mazda CX 30 is way better. I took a test drive of both in the UAE. Unfortunately Mazda is not available in India and I Ve read somewhere that Indian seltos has a very poor body structure

In developed countries, car companies don’t cut costs in terms of structural safety and build quality. For example, Kia uses a safe and high quality platform for the American market Seltos but they use a lower quality, unsafe platform for the Indian market.

If you want something like this with better MPGs and in my opinion better styling get a 2023 Niro! The PHEV gets about 100mpge. Real world usage I have gotten 1000 miles on a tank.

I was looking at a seltos to replace my cx5 cause it has over 250k miles. I was looking at the sx trim since it has the 1.6T and 7speed from the forte GT. I don't like cvts at all. It was a great car for the price. I haven't been able to get one yet do to some financial issues. But I'm now back on track to have the amount for the downpayment in the next 3 months 😄
