You protect that one tower with your all of your soldiers while the enemy enters the castle burns houses and kills all civilians and capturing the city. I see this as an absolute win

This reminded me of the old Warband days when u can hold any castle or town with around 25 Swadian Knights.

I remember just pressing myself against a wall right where the enemy was climbing with a berdiche on defensive sieges in warband and personally murdering 60 men per battle

Kinda old now, but for your archers: Alot of the problem is they start siege defense on 'scatter' formation. Need to change their formation them move them around.

Hope you guys found this video helpful! Also RIP Archers in this tactic, if you want to keep them alive send them as far into your city/castle as possible. For me they glitch out and I can't move them. (This tactic is designed for players who have high infantry/cavalry composition armies)

Would be nice if towers had overall hit points so you could cause a collapse with siege weaponry if you damage a section enough.

That actually is how castles work. The shooting arrows through the floor is not though, but they would probably just fill the place with tinder and set it alight.

stop command will let them keep formation in one direction you choose. Archers can stay behind those stairs an shoot at the enemy back

If the enemy dont have a siege tower u can hold off one side of a castle/town on the ladder with a small squad of archers, put the rest of ur army on the otherside, works everytime for me (thats is the best way to lvl one handed/two handed)

Thanks 🙏🏽 I needed this it was 700 vs 2300 same castle an everything. I ended up with 60 left 😂. U can also put ur archers in the tower to the left of there they won’t mess with them

I joined the Vlandians during a war and helped them win taking back Sargot with my 40 men, they gave me, the new guy, the town, since it’s a frontline city against the battanians imma need this strat

I usually try to find chokepoints in the town area, behind the walls. I always had a hard time fitting my larger armies in the towers

Big PP gained a skill point in Tactics and is now 66.

Those are some real twenty good men.

I wish they add a mechanics or features. Where if enemies reach at certain checkpoints, that town/castle will have some damage. Like lower hapiness or some buildings destroyed. So defenders have more pressured. And if defenders wins while losing so much casualties and checkpoints, against almost same size unit, town/castle and party will have small penalties. It's like punishing generals who are bad commanding his own men. And if defenders win against large size enemies, we will get small rewards or bonuses. I mean realistically, it should be done like this. Besides decision in main campaign map can affects stuff, in battle as well need to implement it too. Like normal RPG, every actions have affects and effects.

Is it possible for the enemy catapult to destroy your whole army in the tower? :D

I just wanna say that this is an amazing strategy I was defending with only 200 people angainst 1000 western empire trash and I had almost over 400 kills alone sadly I took an arrow when we charged the archers at the end and the game wouldn’t push my troops forward so the game got soft locked I waited 2 hours for it to work itself out and nothing

Ahhhhhh choke points. I remember playing warband where I took Praven with the Nord army. Dumb Harlus gave it to himself, it was taken back by swadia almost instantly from when I say my opportunity to take it back for myself this time. I had to fend off 3 different kingdoms with armies around 400-500 people with my 50 men. Choke points really helped me when we all just stood at the top of a stair mowing down the nerds. Good times, goooood times...

While I wish castle defense was more viable in bannerlord all ready, this is going to be really helpful. Finally a defensive edge worth using.

It is nice to do this in field battles in villages where there are fences and even barns.

this is insane, this was filmed in the second half of 2020.. the game is coming out of early access this year and its full of these inconvenient bugs.. idk what its like rn but when i played it the enemy khuzait army assaulted my castle by trying to climb ladders with horsemen.. i mean it made me win but it wasnt a very good experience because i wanted to do an epic defense and got a glitchy mwess

This is perfect since this is the same city I’m trying to defend

The reason why arrows goes through the ceiling is the same reason why you can glitch out of bounds on map and then get into 3d space of objects then exit the other side... There is no textures under the floors/ceilings which means it's a 1 sided surface with a single texture that is being shown front and back, which ended up allowing arrows to pass through. If you mod the game to enable 'super jumps' you can probably jump through all of them.

Hey Spartan, so I'm trying to get this tactic to work in my game, and I'm having alot of trouble with my troops getting pushed back by the enemy as they storm the stairs. I'm wondering if my game version has something to do with it. What game version is this video from, and how do you get that cool ass tactical camera view? Did you enable creative mode lol?

The best way to counter this strategy: blockade the tower for several days until they die of hunger.

We use this exact tactic in gloria victus. I've murdered a lot of people with a two handed over some rails haha

What if you leave a force of infantry in another spot out of the fight, and when the archers finally enter, you have that infantry go in behind them before they kill too many men through the floor?

So basically, you try the Warband tactic. 😂 I did this all the time in Warband, but since there was only one entry point for every siege it was much simpler than Bannerlord. Nicely done.

Even if you have more soldiers, (90 for example) you can set them up on the other towers. That way you can beat 800 men army probably lol.

Well I remember I once had a siege with like 6 people against 500 hundert where I destroyed all their equipment and had no more ammunition so I counted it as a win for me eventhough i technically couldn’t win and it was a draw yeah that also was The point where I ended my campaign
