Finally someone who uses water as a conductive fluid with the micro current device! I have been doing it this way ever since I got my Foreo Bear 3.5 years ago. Right after nighttime face cleansing when the face is wet. It’s less time consuming and lot’s cheaper and works like a charm.
@andreapulver2127
@andreapulver2127 Месяц назад
I don't understand why the water in your tissue isn't enough for conduction? I use Nuface without gel and I can feel it zinging around. Is it mandatory or another product to market and sell? I make my own gel with organic aloe and tea bags (Rooibos). Heat up the gel and steep tea bags, either herbal or regular tea, black or green. It's quite refreshing actually and smells good too although it's a little runny and doesn't work in a spray bottle. I'll also use just a simple rose water spray, Heritage? makes a nice one.
@hanniehoekstra8511
@hanniehoekstra8511 Месяц назад
@@andreapulver2127 first of all you need glide as you don’t want to drag the device over your dry skin. That’s why you need a fluid or gel. But on top of that you need something that’s going to let the electrical current flow through. As tapwater contains things like sodium, calcium and magnesium salts it can ‘transport’ electricity and is a perfect conductor.

I've been using a red light therapy panel from Future Form Official for a while now, and it's made a noticeable difference in my skin complexity and wrinkles! My dermatologist recommended it, and I'm so glad they did. 🌟 The panel is affordably priced, which is a huge plus. I've read a lot of scientific papers supporting red light therapy, but I find it frustrating that there's so much conflicting information out there about different skin treatments. It's really nice to have a trustworthy recommendation. Thanks for sharing such helpful info in this video!

I have the Maysama Redlight Panel. Per the instructions, I eased my way to 1 minute steady light and 6 minutes pulsed light about 5 days a week. I started in January. There have been a few weeks I have not been able to use it at all due to life circumstances. I thought it wasn't doing much, but the other day I watched a video I made a year and a half ago. I *think* my skin looked saggier then than it does now. I will take a 6-mo picture next month, but I am encouraged. I might be getting good results, despite not being absolutely consistent!

This is a really useful video. I also use a red light mask, the Maysama Prana mask, and the ZIIP Halo. I use both of them 5-6 times a week. I was really interested to hear about you using water instead of a conductor gel. I was under the impression you had to use a conductor gel for the device to work. I’d be very keen to save some money by not buying the conductor gel! I also have a Nira precision laser but don’t use it very often. I don’t really like using it and I’m not convinced by the results that I’ve seen on other users. I’m going to check out the video you did on the Nira laser. Your channel is now my favourite channel for healthy aging and anti aging information. Thank you for your information and integrity. 😊

Thank you so much for your trust ❤️ I think conductor gels probably do help maximize the impact but that’s not to say the device is not effective without a conductor gel and I don’t like a very strong current. I often notice a little muscle twitching above my brow after using microcurrent which tells me my muscles have definitely been stimulated without using a gel.

I have mentioned this a couple times previously, I love my PICO Toner. You can buy the probes as an add on, which do require the conductive gel, but the plane PICO Toner micro current device, right out of the box uses conductive gloves, so no conductive gel is used. You only need to have the gloves wet. I wash the gloves out about once a week with a mild soap and hang them to dry with my bathroom towel. I also started using the ZIIP about 3 months ago, but I tend to dislike the conductive gels that make my skin crawl. Hence, I love the PICO Toner which I can use while watching television or, if I want to treat my hands, I use a higher frequency and leave the gloves on while we are watching a movie. For my red light, I use the Korean Time Master Pro (other colored lights are an option, but I usually use the red light option).
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel Месяц назад
That does sound like a good, practical option 👍
@lisadeharthansen7076
@lisadeharthansen7076 Месяц назад
@@thehonestchannel Another benefit to the PICO Toner is that you can put it on a stronger setting and do your body (arms, thighs, & butt). During the pandemic, there was a couple women selling them out of their salon in the UK. The name of the company that manufactures these is Neurotris out of Irvine, CA, USA. Tony, the engineer, has an old YT video where one of their representatives uses the device using both the probe option or gloves option on various parts of the face and body. Their biggest market are the salons using the Neurotris in-office machines. The PICO Toner is strictly for the home user or the salon owner that is just starting up. If you get the device, it comes with gloves, but if you wait for the sales (Black Friday), I would also opt for the extra gloves that are light grey in color. Beauty with Aloha Jenn said that these are better for sensitive skin (not cheap…US$95, I believe). When I order, I am usually using a broker since I live outside the US, so waiting for sales takes the ouch out of the price of the product and the broker’s fees. Thank you again for your feeds!

I love the Solawave. It's easy to carry, easy to use, and I notice the difference. Plus inexpensive. My only gripe is that sometimes it just won't turn off and so then runs down the battery and I have to recharge it when I go to use it. It has no 'off' button, so if it doesn't turn of on its own when not in contact with damp skin, there's nothing you can do to make it.

This pretty much sums up my experience of at home devices - in fact i recently wrote a blog series on a few including red light, microcurrent and radio frequency (coming next!). Red light really helps maintain my skin health and microcurrent makes my skin look a bit fresher (though so i would say that the improvements aren't as dramatic as some of the before/afters I've seen on social media). I do think people's expectations need to be managed with at home devices - i use them to complement a good skincare routine and occasional professional treatments (microneedling / superficial peels) 💙

Something seems a little suspect about The Urchin by Maysama. On their RU-vid Channel they posted when the device was first launched 10 months ago. Some people asked questions to Bev May Sanderson about the Urchin device, and no response was ever made. Nothing else has been posted on their Channel about the device. Even when searching for reviews of the Urchin on other YT Channels, there are few reviews and they are months old. And, the fact that the Urchin has been continually Out of Stock, makes me suspicious that something is wrong with the product. If you can get some information about what is going on, that would be appreciated. Thanks!

I purchased the Maysama Urchin when it was first released & was one of those customers who asked for advice as I found the device confusing to use in the modalities besides cleansing. Which modality, how long, sweeps or holds, who knows? I got crickets, no response at all so I messaged Maysama Customer Care & still no response! I’m currently not using it because I’m not sure how & when. They need to release a follow along protocol like other brands do.

Botox targets the muscle while the Nira works much more superficially and targets the water in the surface layers of your skin so they shouldn’t really interact but I couldn’t say for sure. Like so many things in skincare it’s unstudied.

Hi Clare, can I ask your opinion on my red light therapy usage? I'm using it daily but no longer than recommended by the manufacturer (~10min per session/day). I'm using the red light panel for almost whole body every other day. And on the alternate days I'm using the LED mask for face, neck, décolleté and gloves for hands. There is a timer built in into these devices and I never exceed the prescribed duration of usage. Would it be too much to use the red light therapy 7 days a week the way I'm doing it in your view? I always appreciate your advice and LOVE your videos!

It’s so tough to answer because there just isn’t enough data to go on for long-term best use but I do like to err on the side of caution. That’s why I do shorter but frequent sessions. Excessive use may cause unwanted side effects as I mention in the video, but there are no studies showing a direct link with LED masks or panels facial fat loss. That said, red light is used for body sculpting/fat reduction treatments so I like to take a cautious approach. I use my red light panel most days but just for around 6 minutes at a time.

I read too many reviews of people saying that they lost facial fat because of using microcurrent devices. So I am very reluctant

These reports are definitely concerning. It’s partially why i avoid conductor gels and stick to gentler devices.

Yes, which devices do you consider more gentle? Shouldn't I use the higher setting with nuface?

EMS is a more very powerful type of microcurrent. When i used it i noticed that it popped some blood vessels on my face.

I think we all deceive ourselves because we don't want to admit we have spent our money on things that don't work. I have been using both types of devices for a long time. And I have never ever seen any changes in my skin. I'm soo fed up with all this hype. The truth is that most of influencers have had some serious procedures done to their faces and want us believe their lack of wrinkles is due to...home devices (or even worse: creams!) I'm really disappointed.

I can understand that perspective. Personally I feel red light and microcurrent do make subtle improvements, but there are a lot of devices that don’t. Healthy hydrated skin looks less lined so I would also argue that skincare can make a difference. I see it in my own skin.

The important thing is my mum sees and feels a difference. But I can see a change around the outer socket of the right eye. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

My derm told me red light doesn’t so much if anything and I told him I have omnilux, said waste. I also do Nira daily, another one that he said minimal benefit. I also told him all I’m doing for my hair and he rx me a topical, and for my skin, a retinol. Very frustrating.

Yes, it can be frustrating to hear such a range of opinions and ultimately we all have to decide for ourselves. I've said in previous videos that I think at-home devices do only help on a superficial level - they are not going to tackle significant jowling etc, but red light in particular for me has really benefited my skin health and appearance. Managing expectations is key. I use these devices to help slow the signs of aging and make subtle improvements.

After seeing your earlier video on red light and on micro needling, as well as reading a new york times article on micro needling, I got a beauty bio glow pro. While I trust your reported experience with the devices you recommend, I cannot recommend Beauty Bio. I feel like a total sucker for buying the Glow Pro, as $150-200 and several months later with regular use ( 3-4 times a week) I see absolutely no difference. I’ve been taking selfies along the way to check if there’s progress and see none.

Sorry to hear that. I haven’t tried the glopro but I think microneedle stamps or pens are a bit more effective than the rollers which tend to work more superficially.

My comment was not meant as a critique of what you are recommending, but just to comment that i wouldn’t recommend the device I tried.
