Finally someone who states the manufacturer. Every other damn channel refuses to mention who makes the gun. Its always "The new blah blah blah form ELITE FORCE or balh blah blah from Umarex". Some of these channels really need to learn the difference between a manufacturer and a licensing company.
+1 man it really ticks me off when they say its from elite force. Its like a majority of the air soft companies have a bias for elite force. I'm glad to see that RWA is still sticking true to the OEM.
For people who keep hating on him for being an airsofter and assume he has never fired a real gun ( which he even said he has). You need to remember that ownership of firearms in china ( which were Redwolf is based ) by the citizens is illegal. So when people try to act tough and say shit like " Quit playing with toys and get a real gun ", they cant. Tbh, I've never fired a real gun in my life.
Tall Leprechaun I’m in the navy and I’ve fired, 9mm, 556, 50. Cal, 5 Inch, 308., 20mm and I have way more fun when I play airsoft, owning and shooting real guns is to much work...takes more time and effort, and money !!! Airsoft is awesome.
For one he is not in China. Second you can own guns in China. I don't know where you get your facts. 1 in 5 people own a gun in China as of 2019. Only thing is you need to have an approved storage space at a shooting range to store it. Not allowed to house store it, or transport a gun without giving local law heads up.
i personally own this airsoft gun and its AMAZING. im having lots of fun with it, i do believe these 417 20round gbb mags hold more gas and dosent cool down that fast like the we m4 mags. i ve shot really quick semi shots at a target and havent felt it cooling down AT ALL until it was out of gas. really really nice gun, i d give it a 5/5 for the excellent mag that performs like no mag i ve seen, and because it slides into the 417 very very nicely. the cosmetics of this gun is outstanding, and just like in the video.. it sounds, hits your shoulders amazingly. thumbs up to VFC for making a better gbbr
Glad you agree! The sound is simply amazing and the gun feels so solid. It reminds us of the old KSC TMP which had the same wow effect on players from the 90's. Seriously this gun's bolt sounds like music. Using a car analogy, people buy Aston Martins and Maserati's because the exhaust sounds so good. They may not be the sharpest cars on the track but they sound amazing and look sexy. The same can be said about this Umarex VFC HK417. Not the most accurate or high performing Airsoft GBBR on the market. It has it's shortcomings in terms of performance and is a bit off the pace compared to some other GBBRs. But you don't buy this for the shooting accuracy and performance. You buy this for the beauty and the amazing sound it makes.
+RedWolf Airsoft I'm worried about buying one of vfcs gbbrs I've heard bad reviews on them online butt I want to get a HK416 teen but I've heard that it jams in the springs are really bad and I just want a full honest opinion from someone should i or should I not get it
RedWolf Airsoft 1) WHY SO EXSPENSIVE (me want) 2) i have seen accuracy tests and it aint so good. and people have a hard time finding parts to make it better than its aeg version 3) why would i pay more for a gun when i can get a cheaper more accurate version. anyway i still want this but still kind of strange that the aeg version is better than the gas version
It's funny because the only people that I see hate on airsoft are: Paintballers and people that say "Why get this when I can get the same thing for cheaper" but in all reality a lot of real steel shooters respect airsofters.
the 1:1 scale of the guns, i know you can get mag fed markers (i am a paintballer, this is my old account) like the milsig rap4 tippmann, etc but they arent as realistic, for example the magazine. people play airsoft for realism and i will never understand speedsoft, if you are playing fast paced airsoft, you might as well play speedball
The real appeal to airsoft is that it is better than paintball. Jet del castillo, a former navy corpsman, said QUOTE:"I started off as a paintball player. I hated the mess and the insane costs of ammo. When I found airsoft, I immediately sold all of my paintball gear and bought a airsoft gun". $20 for 5000 extremely high quality airsoft pellets, $20 for 2000 paintball pellets. Most people in airsoft are respectable people who do not cheat. Airsoft guns are also more accurate, they can shoot farther, and they can look extremely realistic, unlike the unicorn laser beam cannons you guys use.
After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel ru-vid.comUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL ! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!
That is neat that the bcg simulates recoil on an airsoft rifle. I must point out to this guy however, at 5:14, the charging handle being "flimsy" is actually anatomically correct of that platform. When you lock the bcg to the rear, it takes all resistance off of the charging handle thus making it loose. The charging handle is held in only by two bumps on each side that allow it to essentially float in the charging channel. As the buffer spring extends, the force is what makes the charging handle become solid feeling.
To be honest with you, When I was in the army , not US, I used to have the M4 or AR15. The handle you pull to draw the bolt is actually flimsly. So I guess it is more realistic this way.
Yes the recoil is VERY strong. Big magazine = big gas reservoir = more gas can be used per shot to propel the bolt back = greater recoil. This really is the perfect gun to make a GBBR out of because of the massive magazine.
Pkarchpray16 If we're going to play being pedantic and purposely not "getting it", then no, It's not a 7.62 gun, it's an airsoft replica shooting 6mm bb.
A very very good GBB Airsoft Rifle indeed, i cannot say something else. I am proud owner of both, a VFC/Umarex HK 416 and 417. Both are very well manufactured and precise. Handling, feeling, recoil and sound are so amazing and it's a lot of fun using the rifles in the field. I spoke to Umarex (GER) because the 416's bolt broke twice allready, but they replaced and repaired it graciously. It seemes, the bolt unit needs a lot of Teflon/Gun-oil to run properly. The big pressure out of the magazines and the difference between the outer and inner temperature cause a lot of work for the entire bolt unit. If you ´can manage to replace the bolt and inner parts of the bolt unit from time to time, that might be the only thing you should maintain carefully and usual and you'll be so proud on and so happy with this gun !
To be fair the reviewer has in no way had military training as I'm sure he would admit, when the thought of carrying rifle that weighs less than my mates lower leg when it decided to fly in a different direction to his body, when we patrolled across a legacy mine field in Kajaki, Helmand province. He's always trying to get himself 50% off whenever we go out shopping for garms, kit, or boots. 🤣 I'm sure with correct trigger drill and breathing, he would get that grouping right down. And he was firing a metal toy gun about 50/60 yds, open sight, so give him some slack. Great review, loved to hear a gbbr with a kick ass bolt assembly sound. I was thinking of getting one as I use gbbrs for simulation training in the UK (cheaper and no jumping through loads of reasons for owning a firearm like that on the FAC). Is the charging handle really weak ie, is it snap able due to poor build quality? Would it be possible to put the charging have from the PTS radian on it? Any ideas guys who own it as I appreciate this video is ancient.
The sight height is higher on HKs correct? Have been looking for a GBBR for practice when I dont feel like driving 2 hours to my 'nearby' outdoor range. This looks like it would fit the bill but I dont want to get accustomed to a different cheek weld.
I already own a HK417 of UMAREX but still watched. but still learnt from your advice like how to hold to mag-change. and agreed of the problem of the charging handle. Just that mine having problem on full-auto shooting... Excellent single shot for a marksman position like me, though. Thank you for sharing. I subscribed right after watching it. :)
Just received this gun, but dam I was so disappointed that it was faulty. Does not load the BB into the chamber, only knocks it out of the mag just enough to get into the crevice between the mag and gun so when I try to release the mag it is annoyingly difficult because I have to use a hammer to press on the release so I can retrieve the mag. This along with a gas leakage after I finished my first mag. When I first had this problem I had it fully filled so when the gas leakage happened out of nowhere there was what I would describe as nitric oxide shooting out of everywhere from inside the gun. I checked the bod for deliverer damages but the box was in great shape. Not sure what the main causes of these are, but i am definitely going to contact support to see what they can do for me here.
finally someone who doesnt exclusively use the (should have been dead) imperial system. thanks for making sure that everyone knows what you are talking about instead of america exclusively
I get that gbb have smaller capacity mags but that's huge for me on getting the gun or not, 20 rounds is nothing lol there are plenty of gbb that go up to 40 rounds which is still low but a lot better than 20 rounds
hi, 1st off new to airsoft and live the vids... i wanted to ask have you got a review of the hk417a2...(wanted a 416a5 but dont want to fix problems i read most have) looking to start airsoft with a dmr and i like the idea of this kick, but read theres accuracy problens with this 1st gen... plus is there any co2 versions or upgrades(ireland always cold)... noob questions sry 🤪
Hello Guys... Is there any way to upgrade this gun to HPA, firing a larger Mag size, but still keeping that recoil ? Would fitting a SMP or Polarstar do the business? any suggestions or help would be ace. Keep up the good work.
So that grouping wasent the guns fault if you looked at his shots they were in a perfect circle witch means he was staring at his target while shooting. Its pretty common when people shoot real guns.
i dont see why people have a problem with weight, mine is 3,3kg and i honnestly love the weight. since i dont play milsim. it "feels" better and its more fun to have to throw the weight around and i personally dont see any downsides. on the other hand my back up weapon is way lighter and it just feels odd and cheap also running around with it feels really odd
Since you've reviewed so many airsoft guns plus I believe you have experience with most of them, could you please make a list of TOP 5 guns having best sound, accuracy, fps no matter in what conditions you shoot? So as a whole package of attributes that a gun might have, what are your 5 all time best airsoft guns? Exclude the handguns and sniper rifles ..Thanks
How old was tim when got his first airsoft gun and was it EBB, GBB, or spring loaded. I am 11 and want to start buying some airsoft guns! Can you please help! :D
RedWolf Airsoft Finally he did it! I opened my subscriptions today and i had a feeling this would be up! It's amazing! I haven't even watched it yet! Good or bad f*** the haters that said he wasn't interested!
Awesome review! Just that sound is sick! Of course you wouldn't expect it to be perfect since it's relatively cheap for what you get but like you said it's easy to upgrade it to make it better. But the money shot is at 3:07 :)
St0RM33 The video doesn't do the sound justice. Hearing it live...the metallic clank is so amazing. We love the shooting experience of this gun. We'd shoot this with an empty magazine and holding down the bolt lock just for the experience! And in fact, lots of people in the office have been doing this with the gun I filmed with.
RedWolf Airsoft Yeah i got (like many more) hooked from the preview video. Not sure how reliable it will be this way, but i guess the carrier bolt is at least full steel, right?
i made one that used propane which in the chamber is a small just right amount ignited causing a explosive reaction which is very loud and melts airsoft pellets unless heavy and dense but has range to 60 yards it will go through 4 layers of cardboard.
All the Umarex/HK41x versions I can find at the shop says "(Asia Edition) (For Retail in Asia Region Only)", does that mean that me as a European customer can't order them?
Thomas Andersson its available in europe, why Import expensive when you can Order it in europe way cheaper? Im looking into buying one, im from austria and we got them in the local shops, same for germany (they dont have fa option)
Nick Paolino that depends. Like this one right here is about how realistic the rifle is. But if you need a lighter and more accurate one I’d say TM’s m4 is still the best platform.
Hey tim for teating accuracy have you ever thought about usinh clamps or something so the accuracy depends on the gun not human error. Oh and how common would it be to see a gas vfc hk417 in the United States?
What’s the difference between the KWA and the VFC? I was shopping for this GBBR and I came across two variations. Both are Umarex but one is KWA, the other VFC. If anyone could help me understand, I’d very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Great rifle unfortunately 20rd Mags that are £50 each is a real killer for this gun, either the mags need to get cheaper or mag sizes need to increase for this to be a considerable skirmish weapon even in extreme mil-sim events. (Btw I get that they probably wanted to keep it realistic with the real steel 20rd mag and give you more gas possiblity but I'd prefer 30-40rd long custom mag than a 20rd mag you have to refill about 3 times in mid-battle because it has enough gas just not enough ammo. Hopefully in future they'll make this but if not I'll have to stick with an AEG and possibly buy this later on for aesthetic reasons although to be able to use this in the field would be great.
i've always had electric but what are these gbb's like to actually use on a full day? I do a lot of milsims so mag capacity isn't an issue but what put me off gbb was having more than 1 mag and the rest leaking the gas out
They are much more realistic from every point of view and more fun to shoot. Some people say once you've shot a high quality GBBR (like this) you won't enjoy shooting AEG's anymore. But in airsoft combat, my vote is on the AEG
northern marine Indeed most standard rifle magazines may weigh up to 400grams a piece. And since they have a realistic capacity you'll have to carry a bunch with you. FPS limits can be overcome by using weaker gas, or install NPAS kits. RA-tech manufactures NPAS valves that you replace in the nozzle of the GBB. With it you pretty much adjust how much pressure flows out your nozzle thus increasing/decreasing fps. Before looking into a GBBR make sure you can find upgrades that fit or suit that particular one. So do research on the gun you are purchasing. Other than that, you might be spending a bottle of gas a day (CQB). Outdoors i have no idea, but considering shooting full auto isn't really much recommended you might use just a bit more than one bottle of gas. But in the end it's all about how trigger happy you are. And you'll have to find out yourself if one (1liter) bottle of gas can get you through the day. Most common gas used is Green Gas. During winters it's wise to use more cold resistant gases. Because you'll freeze your magazines in no-time. And that'll cause your fps to drop and rate of fire to decrease. Take a look at WE's Nuprol Gas. I've had good experiences with them during the winter. Nuprol 2.0 or 3.0 (3.0 being recommended for rifles, but 2.0 works fine) But bear in mind WE's nuprol doesn't always come cheap. Atleast that's with the 3.0 bottle. My experiences were with a WE HK416. Plenty of after market parts to find for it. Bear in mind you'll have to upgrade the WE GBBR's eventually. They're really good out of the box, untill you put 2000 or so rounds through it. Then the trigger might break. But then once again, WE is known for this problem but RA-tech aftermarket steel parts solve most of the problems that WE has. As the other person has mentioned, mags can be disasembled and resealed so that leaks will be fixed. But so long as you don't let your o-rings dry out (Use greengas which has sillicone oil, which is pretty much almost every green gas, or if you are a propane guy use propane with a special adapter for sillicone oil instead). Spray it with sillicone oil to keep it lubed. The most important thing however. Is not to drop the magazines. All gas blowback magazines are really vulnerable to being dropped =)
Haha, nice video dude. I like you - you're not someone focuses on purely advertising their company and in doing so not stating the actual manufacturer and you also don't waste time talking about things that aren't important and don't waste time waffling :) Subcribed.
3:18 ever shoot a real 7.62? Granted, it's pretty hard to replicate the recoil of a 7.62 without a diving tank or a suitably sized air compressor, but this one looks to be about equivalent to a 5.56, which really isn't bad for an airsoft gun. How would you say it rates against WE's SCAR 17?
We, at RedWolf, would like to apologise for the editing at the end. On a lighter note, what else would be a 'drop' moment when involving the VFC HK417? Come up with some funny ones and Tim will post them on his Facebook page!
20 rounds per mag? That mag is huge and could easily hold more. I wouldn't want to keep changing mags and running out. At that rate I would get the 416.
8lbs is light, carry an M14 around Afghanistan's mountains for 10 months. Or when I was your age carry a M24 around Saudi Arabia in 130degree weather with no shade and no A/C for the 16 months I was there.
+Rafay Syed yep, in 1992, I was sent to help train Royal Saudi Military Police on Riot control and non-Lethal Weapons. (we taught how to use Tasers, tear gas sprayer (Backpack size) and the vehicle launched CS systems. They didnt have nonlethal at the time, they just shot people I guess.
This VFC hk417 has no issues in terms of will it shoot or break on you unlike WE due to all the important internals being steel. However there have been problems with the magazines but you can find solutions on youtube for the mags. Also I hear it's not that accurate.
themega11 Yes, as our target tests showed, this gun is not that accurate. But like we said earlier, you don't buy this gun for accuracy. It's a bit off the pace compared to other GBBRs. But the shooting experience is second to none.
To the kids hating on airsoft. No, it is not the real deal, nor is it cheap. But real veterans use airsoft to train. You know why? Because it is heck a real and it is the closes you will get to the real deal without killing yourself. And it is not about having the greatest and best either, but actually having the feeling of playing together, teamwork, and the social is the stuff that makes airsoft a great sport? So why should you come here and say that airsoft is not cool or just fucked up because it is not the real deal? Well if you think so, than you've missunderstood. And if I myself haven't missunderstood, than you are probably staying at your home as a keyboard warrior and finding something you can hate on because you don't have the mental abillity to think straight.
Situs Chan I know Japan has a 300 fps limit last I heard. Idk if that applies to all of Asia but I know the USA doesn't really have fps limits unless you're at fields, it's usually 400 fps for a rifle that can go full auto and 300ish for CQB. I could be mistaken though
