I would like to see one of these style videos for the summer and fall when those seasons come. This video was very helpful because I am fairly new to muskie fishing and it helps to know what some good lures to use in certain seasons are, thanks! :)

Up here in Canada, the Kawartha region, I'm going to start with A small weighted jerkbait called the "Raptor" made by Fat A.Z. Musky gear. And of course covering water with a small bucktail. 👍

Oh how I miss things from up when you say things like the musky shop I lived right down the the road from there on lower kobashine lake in hazelhurst and also spent plenty of time on willow reservoir had grandparents that have a place there. For sure this is the time of year I miss about Wisconsin. But living in Florida and never having to drill a hole in ice to fish I can’t really complain much lol

Musky angler from Wausau, wisconsin here! was just at rollie and hellens yesterday. i plan on using a bucktail to start out as a search bait. i like the single spoon more. then will probably do minnow baits and my poseidon. cant wait!

The spring Susquehanna/Chenango muskies here love smaller pike-sized lures; my go-tos are 6-8" grubs, Northland Jawbreakers, ¾-1oz dressed Dardevles, and -the best for last- vintage K3 Pikers & #5 Comets. Try a black ribbontail worm too, they work, found that out by accident while smallie fishing... *twice.*

So far caught my first 2018 36.5" fish on an old trustworthy classic.... Buchertail Natural/Nickel. As far as a question, the water temps are in the mid to upper 60s in my local at the moment, where do you find yourselves spending the most time on the lake at this temp? Is it warmer water, new weed growth, points, etc?

I have a lighter musky/bass setup so my first couple spring baits will be micro medussas and 4” phantom softtail. Also some type of jighead with 6” paddle tail swimbait. No baits over 2 ounces so musky lure selection is somewhat limited.

Tried some Rubber this spring with no luck. Mid Medusas were not working Switched to a popper for sh*ts and giggles and wham- first topwater Muskie ever

Hey guys I work for the Nevada department of wildlife 5 years ago we planted our first 1042b tiger muskies none have been caught yet every year we have planted a few more with this season we got 20,000 fingerlings so I'm watching and learning to catch my first tiger muskie... you'll see on my channel I catcher tons of big Lingcod from a kayak ... so to me tigers muskies are like fresh water lingcod lol ... @@brendanspencer2550 well just practice. They are essential. You can buy the Rocket now then have to replace soon, or do it once and have the right tool flr the job quite frankly. I have taught 11 year old girls how to throw baitcast btw. (Lee)

@@TodaysAngler Well i think Mike Duche was using the rocket in the 41 musky bites video. I think its specs are good enough for even the biggest musky in my state (Pennsylvania). If you talk to him sometime can you ask about the round reel he used in that vid?

Most definitely not. They will cut mono very easy. For light bass type baits we use 40lb Terminator brand titanium wire. For smaller musky baits on musky rods we use 80lb fluorocarbon.

What gear ratio you recommend for that boilermaker? I can't get mine to stay on top until the last quarter of the cast. Seems like it sinks when I go slow but the blade is turning. Thrown on my Toro beast and tranx 401 on the slower ratio

I just use a 5 to 1. We dont usually fish it on top but you can, just hold the rod higher.

Todays Angler thanks. I'll keep throwing it for sure. Keeping the tip up definitely helped over weeds. I've seen a lot of fish on a small phantom with a Softail, a six inch sandcat dive and rise style bait and caught a fish on a 700 series bucher tail. My buddy got on the board with a Burt. But he slays fish all year on Burt's... Been pounding little green, random and pewaukee. Heading up north sooooooooooon.

Im starting to get into muskie more especially this season, what would you guys recommend for fishong when the water is between 40°-50°? And here in Utah we have tiger muskie so the hybrid one not pure muskie so would that make a difference in using these baits you showed?

Have had 3 of my 4 follows on reverse loon flappy. 2 of them were hot on tail but no catch. What do you guys recommend to get those skis to strike.? Thanks for the great videos guys. Hope to see you this season on my fav south eastern wi lake. Robbie and Mike did a fall show there!!!!

Hi Lee me and my step brother are the two ginger kids that came up to you at the Minnesota musky expo and talked for a while and we are going up to mantrap lake for muskie opener on June 2 and I was just curious where do you think they will be because of the warmer weather do you think they will be on more of the deep weedlines or still in shallow or suspended in deepwater on baitfish.
