Bigger loser in the bid announcement: Washington DC, and Baltimore. FedEx Field had issues, M&T Bank Stadium was probably not a great fit, and there were plans for a viewing area in DC's National Mall. That all went crashing down in defeat.

La bombonera is a small stadium but the experience you’ll have going there will be life changing. Those may be the averages for the whole summer or maybe taking into account minimum daily temps but during June and July I swear most of the days from noon to like 7 pm it's high 90s and 100s Fahrenheit in Dallas.

I already checked the Qatar World Cup final ticket price are about $1000-1600 for best seats. Compare to Super Bowl ticket price that started $3000. World Cup ticket was quite affordable

Yep, people tend to forget Dallas is part of a Metropolitan area. Arlington is situation between Dallas and Fort Worth. Technically, Dallas on its own is smaller than San Antonio. You just combine those 3 major areas and then the population is bigger then SA lol.

I'd much rather a tight and tense 1-0, than a wc final with no tension to the point where a player breaks out in a fortnite dance half way through. Croatia played extra time in all their knockouts (pens in 2) and it was obvious that a better rested France would win. You could bet your house on it. Croatia burnt out in the final to give us one of the worst world cup finals in hopefully a very long time. They simply came to participate rather than compete, and the only other recent final that has seemed that way was Germany in 02 and even they put up a fight. I dont care for high scoring games without tension and competitiveness, I'd watch the Stanley Cup playoffs if I wanted that 💀

FIFA doesn’t think like America does. New York is actually awful for television times, especially being an outdoor stadium in June-July. They’d have to play later in the day, which leaves the Euro markets out and that just won’t happen. Dallas’ time zone, stadium size, location, and climate control makes it a more than perfect hub for the Final. With a worldwide audience, being New York really doesn’t matter much; Dallas is just as world renowned and that just because of a TV show and a pigskin football team.

imaging thinking the world cup wont generate a crowd, laughable. just cause the US is the main host doesnt mean only Americans will be at every game, half of them wont care about the wc unless the US playing. Europeans and South Americans will bring the noise and atmosphere with them
