At one time or another, I have used all of these except the Royal Purple filter. I have also used Wix and K&N, Wix premium filters are great. WIX is still my first choice.

I use the Purolator Boss and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. The Wix XP and NAPA Platinum are virtually the same as the Purolator Boss,and I would be OK with either of them.

@@johnlong384 it's a cartrage filter. Every time I change the oil I can look at the media. There is no canisters, it's just the filter insert.

I have to ask how do you guys know your filter is better than another person's filter, if all you do is spin it off and throw it in the trash and put a new one on?? Are we saying Hey my engine hasn't blown up or smoked so my filter does a great job??

Watch some videos where oil filters are cut apart . You're right if the car hasn't blown up or is smoking the filters doing ok,but for how long? Isn't it better to spend a little more on a high quality filter and keep your vehicle from smoking or blowing up for an extra 10-20 thousand miles?

I've been doing it for 40 years and I went 44,000 on a single change with my 85 Audi Quattro, everyone said the same thing to me about being crazy even my Dad,but AMSOIL proved them all wrong. Now they all oils can go more than 3,000 miles! Why? They had too or lose market share. You never needed 3,000 mile oil changes just a filter change. They got you addicted to change their oil every 3,000 miles.

Only dumb people change their oil every 10'000 or less miles. Modern oils can last up to 100'000 kilometers if you change your filter every 10'000 or so. But noone wants to say this because they would lose money ;-)

I use oem filters for my Hondas, idc that some of them are made by fram. Oci is either 5k or 7500k depending on which car.

Best combo of oil and filter on the market! I change mine out every 10,000 miles for the last 4 years and 13 year old truck runs like new. No need to change it every 3 or 7,500 miles because the Pensoil Ultra and Fram Ultra together are the best there is in my opinion!

Otherwise, as all the experts everyhwere e.g. engine builders, OEM car mfr's, engine deep experts like the Nissan GTR creator/engine creator Takumi Kurosawa, allllllllllll say: whether synth or regular oil, change every 3000 if u want long life of the engine, i.e if u want 250 K plus; if we only want/need 100ish K, 150K, then 4 or 5K even is ok. That's how he broke it down-- NOT COMPLICATEd and it follows alllllllllllll the data and common experience ppl have been accumulating over these past 20 yrs of OEM mfr's experimenting with extended oil changes, which have largely been a major mistake, which btw, is part of why there is such a small used car supply in these United States today! I.e. huge excess in trashed cars due to engine failure, which even in decent reasonably priced -engine brands, is often or usually too much to spend, and the car gets bricked/financially-totalled. Nothing as beautiful as Facts. We 'mericans need to get RE-acquainted with them, given the mega departure from them over the past decade.

Just typed in, on RU-vid, Best oil filters of 2024 and see the tests and charted/graphic results. Best overall: Purolator Boss. Best filtration: Amsoil.

I've cut Purolator and Bosch filters apart Exactly the same inside. I've cut Honda motorcycle filters apart that didn't have end plates on the filter media .just glued together . I thought there was more space for the oil to get into the paper. Just my opinion. I buy cheap filters and only oil on sale. Never had a engine failure in 50 years . But I believe in letting a engine run a little, depending on temperature before putting a load on it. Especially my 01 7.3 powerstroke.

Steve DeLeon, I use the Purolator Boss along with the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, and run it for 10K miles. Blackstone Labs says I could run that combo for 12K miles. 😊👍🏼

@@billtinnell2206 10K miles is about the furthest I would go with it. But because I DIY my oil changes, my wintertime oil change interval may have to last longer. Hence the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum full synthetic coupled with the Purolator Boss filter. During the rest of the year when it’s warmer, yeah then I’ll change it more often.

Bosch Distance Plus is listed as 5th but had the best stats: 99.9% filtration & 29 gram capacity. This is what I use on both of our vehicles. One mistake on the video for oil change is the need to fill the oil filter with oil. The way you do this is pour oil in, let it settle, then add more, let it settle until its full & won't settle anymore, then screw on & tighten. You do this so there is oil flowing from your oil filter immediately upon start up.

When under warranty I use Mobil 1 oil with OEM filter and when I'm out of warranty I use Mobile 1 oil and a WIX filter. I replace my oil and filter every 5000 miles. Never had any issues.

I use the Fram Ultra for two oil changes.. i change my oil at 3,000 miles. So i get 6,000 miles out of one filter. 06 Ridgeline 140,000 miles and it’s hard to hear my engine running at idle. Two oil changes for about $50.00.

Not up on the boss, but the titanium is a very good filter. And along with the Castrol Edge........you can't go wrong. The Titanium filter also allows for added space between the filter and the can for magnets to function well.

Any top 3 synthetic oil filters are fantastic. Choose between Fram, Wix or Purolator. Can't go wrong with any of these 3 choices! Flip a coin folks. Easy Peezy.

Royal purple is my #1 due to the micro glass filter media. It filters 98.7% at 20 microns and 80% at 10 microns. The only other filter with those numbers that also allows for full oil flow is Amsoil oil filters. Yes they cost more. I feel that they are worth the extra money. You may not and I am totally OK with that.

FRAM has a history of making marginal filters but have added a new $15? premium highlife with 20? Micron 99% cleaning..20000mile with silicone ADV , metal inside caps etc. You can't do much better for your car..but..if your past dictates no respect for their business model we are free to buy others. FRAM and AMZOIL, BOSCH Supertech are not for me. Purolator One or Boss, PARTSMASTER wholesale and NAPA (REBADGED WIX), WIX are my preferences. Go with your bias ..with silicone ADV etc..I might buy a premium FVP, MOTOR CRAFT, HONDA OEM!

And here we have 2 more brain dead folks who've done no research. Did you clowns know the Honda filter is identical to Fram? Probably not. Their cheap filters work great up to 3000 miles for those who don't drive much, the XG ultra listed here series is better bang for the buck than any other 20 micron at 99% filter out there.
