+Tloc103 Maybe ifga16 has spent time outside of LA. The LA taco game is on point. Even El Pollo Loco leaves a lot of non-LA stuff in the dust. I'm from LA but I lived in Iowa for 3 years and I will tell you that what passes for Mexican is freaky. One example: Potato Ole's, the signature specialty of Taco Johns, which consists of tater tots and pico de gallo and sour cream.

King Taco is nothing compared to Guisados.

Guisados only has four stores open and King Taco has at least eighteen. I know that everyone has their favorites but I also know that Guisados is catering to the yuppie crowds in Downtown LA with their place on Spring. I did read the comment and i have to concur that what I saw on Michael's platter didn't look to me like the tacos I see American toursists eating at the various places in Mexico. I subscribe to several of them and I simply go to King Taco because the food is fresh and it's very reliable. I have had some issues with ordering tamales and the server forgetting the plastic fork but hey.

K Franco coming from a Mexican...these are not authentic looking. The tortillas being freshly made def change em but they don't make them authentic. It all comes down to the how the meat is made not the tortilla.

Where in México have you eaten tacos? A taco is a tortilla filled with any kind of filling, not just diced steak. In southern Mexico cochinita pibil is common, in central Mexico tacos de birria, in northern Mexico fried fish is often eaten in a taco. There are a ton of ways to eat tacos that aren't diced meat and are still authentic. Btw this also coming from a Mexican.

Tasha Fominykh I love how people outside of the Mexican culture THINK they can dictate a good taco. Ultimately it comes down to preference but most of the places people like that are "authentic" are just catered to people who aren't Mexican. Lol.

SloanKettering04 you don't have to be Mexican to know what authentic food is. I've been eating it for 15 years being that my best friend is Hispanic.. so I stand by my statement. & king taco is still weak.

Tasha there's people who have been eating taco Bell for 15 yrs and believe it's authentic Mexican food. Theres people who eat panda express and believe it's authentic. Lol just because it's a hole in the wall doesn't make it authentic.
