Harry Ferguson, like Dunlop, from Northern Ireland, patented the three-point-linkage in 1926, he went into partnership with David Brown to produce a tractor which utilised the "Ferguson System" .... and although earlier tractors may have had some sort of crude three point attachment to implement such as plows ... Ferguson is generally acknowledged to have invented the three point linkage or hitch we see on tractors today... this is the same Harry Ferguson who later went on to associate with Henry Ford and the Fordson tractors which utilised Ferguson's system and still later Ferguson tractors and still later again Massey Ferguson.
