BEST Trimmer Line [ see why ] 

Anyone else find the sounds of running mowers and string trimmers an odd form of ASMR.... I could listen to this all day

I’ve been using the gator line magnum for a while now, I’m gonna buy a small spool of this to try out! You’ve never steered me wrong so we’ll be trying it out! Thanks! To everyone still complaining and needing more info either shut up or just go buy a small spool of it, $10-15 bucks won’t break the bank. This man don’t need to do a full review on string line😂

This is my favorite lawn care channel, you give alot of recommendations on products while showing them in action and doing a really nice job. I use to like "saving green lawn care" but it went from a lawn care channel to a grown man bitching and complaining about everything sitting in his truck while his one employee(whatever one he has at the time) did all the work...

That’s the stuff we used since we started in 2018. I liked it and never tried another. Like you said it last a long time. I’ll go a week without re spoiling my trimmers. Glad to know my dealer lead me in the right direction. Thanks Johnny

Interesting! Until recently I was using 0.106" round line, anything smaller just wouldn't stand up to the tough grass here & kept breaking. I have just started using 0.08" Oregon Magnum Gatorline Square, it actually cuts the grass instead of just smashing its way through. I am amazed how long the square line keeps cutting even when it is short, much longer between bumps. Biggest bonus is I get more cutting from each battery, so must be using less energy as well. I just hacked down a bif patch of weeds that were above waist height with trunks thicker than my thumb. I was dubious that any line would cut that stuff & half expected to have to resort to a steel blade, but the square line cut it off at ground level. With thick round line I get frustrated with long grass wrapping around & jamming the head, but the way the square line cuts, that hasn't happened. Less drag keeps the revs higher. the echo black diamond .095 is my personal favorite after trying many different types. it lasts a long time and i dont even need to run max rpm for it to cut through.

You guys got major skills...turning the skills of maintaining landscape into a honorable way of making a living..your trailer looks nice...great video..I will try that trimmer line soon...it looks like the thinner and strongest line is best for sharp cuts...the thicker lines usually just beat up on the weeds making a rough cut.i hope im correct on that theory..

Arnold maxi edge .095, Shakespeare ugly twist .080 and anleolife sawtooth .140 are my 3 favorite trimmer lines to use. Great video 👍

I've never used Oregon Gator line, But: Three years ago when I was researching trimmer line I listened to many RU-vid clips on what was the best trimmer line. I then went out and bought a pound of Echo Black Diamond trimmer line and have, as a home owner and rancher, been using it ever since. When you say best, did you have a standard in mind? Best by what measure, by what metric? There are two things about the Black Diamond trimmer line that I noticed right away. 1. It took a lot less effort to swing the trimmer head through the grass. That meant less drag for me and less resistance for the engine so less counter torque or drag on the engine. 2. I assumed this was because the trimmer line seemed to be actually cutting the grass instead of ripping it by brute force. And 3. Together that accounted for the experience of far less vibration in my hands which, together with less drag equals a lower profile of fatigue. This became really apparent when I was trimming a steep bank with thick grass. In fact, I wanted to make sure I wasn't tricking myself so I put the head wound with Echo Cross Fire back on the trimmer. Two minutes with that string confirmed what I felt was going on. I haven't used every string out there but I've never used a string better than the Black Diamond. Because it cuts rather than rips it leaves a better looking job and offers a lower profile of fatigue for both myself and the trimmer. I should think anyone trimming every day would find it a pure delight to use. In spite of it wearing faster on fence line, concrete and bricks. Am I wrong? Then again, watching you with the Oregon .85 Gator line on that Stihl trimmer it appeared to me you all were doing a fine job. But I don't know how much effort you were expending on pushing the trimmer head through the grass or in how much vibration your were getting in your hands. Both of which will add to fatigue for you and your equipment. And the thing about the Black Diamond is that until I used it the advertising about less vibration was all just advertising hyperbole. It took actually experiencing the difference to understand the significance. But I'm eager to hear your thoughts.

I use Gator trimmer line as well but I use shaped sphere and I like the Oregon trimmer line as well Comerical trimmer line is good as well

Its the diameter size is one of the factor why it cuts so clean , besides the quality of trimmer line. A good anf effective size for cutting grass is between 2.00 mm ang 2.5 mm

As always, use what works for you! I have different setups on different heads as I use a Husqvarna 535LK pro combi. Quick and easy, so I can go from fine cut grass to small trees and everything in between in seconds!!

Hey Johnny I gave been using the newest Husqvarna line it's been doing good down here in FL with this tuff ass grass I'll have to give tht Oregon line a try they make great gator G6 blades all I use great vlog

learn something new each time I watch. been trying the line that was pre-installed with my new Echo . I will be trying this brand ASAP.

Weve been running .095 Vortex twisted and I really like it versus the Oregon .095 round but I will be picking up a spool of .080 to give it a run. We will see how it works looks like it slices like razor through the thick stuff.

I use the Oregon .09 gator line buts it's clear with a wire in it. I need to find the green. I bet it's way easier to see. Love the gator line. Super tough.

The best weedeater lines that I’ve used would have to be Husqvarna titanium force and echo black diamond

I've been using the Oregon line except I'm using the .065 in my RX. I'm using a lot less fuel than I did with .095 and it's less wear on the clutch and engine. The .065 Oregon line does not throw rocks like .095 did and it cuts cleaner and faster. The fuel savings at the end of a season could buy new equipment.

That is some great line. I use the same brand and type but in .095 gauge.

Try the same line without a guard bet you leave the guard off.. great trimmer line and doesn't pick up as much rock cause is things. Also try Oregon .90 round it's great.

Have you or anybody else tried the vortex line by rotary and know how it compares? That’s what I use and it doesn’t weld, rarely breaks and will cut through thin sapling branches if need be and it’s actually really good at low rpms. I’m rarely in the upper rpm range. I’m up for trying something new, just want to know how it compares

What was the deal with that fence line, was it too wet for mower or just left weedy for string demo. Also first vid i seen with the .80 line, makes sense that its more flexible and more rpm for thinner smaller blade grass species than the .95 with tendency to bring against abrasive edges. Im thinking of trying to lighter line on bermuda edges with mixed lawn.

Idk I’ve stuck with the .80 twisted Lowe’s special I don’t even know what brand it is but I surprisingly don’t go through much line maybe bump once or twice a yard and I’m running thinner line then recommended too & I edge with the trimmer also which makes it even more surprising maybe when I go through the roll I have now I’ll test out gator I just haven’t been bothered to waste money searching for something better

What makes .080 so good? Isn't that pretty dang thin compared to the other 2 options. How much string gets used in a day. I use the black .105 and I went 16 yards one day with only 7 ft per side of trimmer head.
