How do you go about setting Eye Comfort for Permanent Gaming Picture Settings, so that it keeps Eye Strain at bay whatever you do on Gaming... My TV annyoingly will either go into this Setting after a few minutes or after many hours near the end of my Gaming... It will just suddely mid Game go Black and then Switch itself, and it does not seem to start in that Mode at all... Any Ideas on what I have got wrong, or how it should be set up? I am Neurologically Sensitive to bright light, so I bought this TV to help with that.

I agree with the reviewer about Dolby vision cinema being a little dark although I don’t like the artificial colour of cinema home. Personally after weeks of tweaking, I settled with Cinema mode and added both Auto Dynamic Contrast and Peak Brightness to medium. It gives you a little more shadow detail and doesn’t quite wash out the colour as much. Anyone who’s struggling to get the right settings should try this. I know every panel is different but I like colour and brightness both at 50 too.

Yep: Over the years many expert calibrators have found fault with settings sometimes recommended by the folks at Rtings. It turns out some of the editors and/or technicians at Rtings are human and they make mistakes... and sometimes they are just plain wrong in their recommendations. Anyway, as you identified and as specified in the LG Owners manual, the ideal setting for OLED panel protection against burn in / image retention is by setting the Logo Brightness set to HIGH. In defense of anyone confused over this control setting, rest assured this is easily one of the more confusing control settings because LG failed to clarify what this setting actually does. The primary confusion is caused by - 1) The difference in what the question "sounds like" it is asking. Versus - 2) What LG actually intended. The "INCORRECT ASSUMPTION" by many owners and reviewers is - LOW means the logo will be displayed at a lower brightness level thus protecting the panel and HIGH would mean the logo will be displayed at its maximum brightness level and could result in burn-in. THIS IS INCORRECT! - The actual decision being addressed by this control setting is: "How aggressive do you want the automatic control algorithm to be when it comes to handling the dimming of Logos? OFF: No handling. No dimming. Logos will be displayed at their brightest. LOW: The TV algorithm will be set at the least aggressive setting in regards to the automatic dimming the Logos (Logos will be slightly dimmed, i.e. not at full brightness) HIGH: Sets the TV algorithm to its Highest most aggressive dimming protection (Logos will be at the dimmest setting (i.e., resulting in dimmer logos for maximum protection of the OLED panel.) Confusing? Yep! - It's like the confusion surrounding wire gauge sizes - i.e., The larger the wire gauge number - the smaller the wire. (e.g., a 22ga wire is smaller that a 10ga wire)

Not sure as I’ve only changed the settings as in the video and they’re available to me. You’ve probably got some AI or picture mode selected that greys out some options (don’t know which one though). Thanks. Depends what you're streaming via the Firestick. If it's HD or HDR content then those settings are covered in my video. I stream from a Google Chromecast and just use the HD/HDR settings as in the vid. Not sure about the PC as it's not something I use myself through my TV, but as the TV is just acting like a large monitor I'd try and tweak the resolution and display settings on the PC itself.

Wow! Thanks for this. I'm so excited as I have a 55" one of these on order, arriving this Thursday, and I really want the best picture I can get, so I will be following your instructions to the letter. I will have it hooked up to various consoles and DVD player (I will be using an HDMI splitter to give me extra IN connections) and also my Surround sound 5.1. Have you any calibration tips for sound? I've been reading bitstream is the way to go? I see you favour the onboard speakers, but are there options for setting sound to Surround sound as I want to experience the full cinematic experience? Also, do I need to go through these steps for each individual HDMI port, or do you just do it once, and it's applied to all connections? Sorry for all the questions, but I SO WANT the picture that you have.....it's incredible! Once again fab video and thanks so much for sharing your tips with us.

@TheReviewFella 2 года назад
Hi and thanks, I’m glad you find it useful. For sound, I just use the internal speakers because my Bose soundbar is too big to fit in front of my C1, that’s the only reason. So I don’t calibrate sound. I set it to Standard, sometimes Clear Voice Pro for movies. HDR is auto set for native apps and it shouldn’t matter what HDMI port it comes through. You may need to update the picture settings if you use different input sources for HDR such as built in apps, Google TV dongle, Firestick etc. Thanks for the feedback and enjoy your new TV!

What would be considered HDR content? I use Game Optimizer for gaming on my PS5. I use your SDR settings for when I’m watching cable tv (and RU-vid hopefully that is correct). I use Cinema Home for Netflix viewing as I’m usually watching Ultra HD content. I don’t understand what content would fall under your HDR picture modes though? Hopefully those questions made sense. @TheReviewFella 2 года назад
No problem. HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a technology that extends the range of colour, contrast and brightness, which improves details in the shadows and highlights, so you get a more impactful image. Such TV shows and movies will be listed as HDR or Dolby Vision near the title. Hope that helps a little. You’ll mainly find this content via Amazon, Netflix and Apple TV for example. Some games are also HDR.

Not sure about that one sorry. Things that spring to mind: Are you using the app on a Dolby Vision compatible device? To check this make sure you’re using the TVs built in Netflix app, rather than one on a dongle. Also, do you have the highest tier Netflix plan that streams Dolby Vision? If your internet speed is low, Netflix will drop the stream quality. Streaming quality should be set to High according to Netflix (must be a setting in the app)? Try streaming some free Dolby Vision content via Apple TV. That’s what I used in the video to test. Sorry I can’t help more.

Wait please explain to me how Warm50 is the most accurate? Take a piece of white paper and compare the white on the tv with that piece of paper. Either I am blind or when you set it to 0 it is actually white and when you set it to warm 10+ it's just yello-brownish..
@TheReviewFella
@TheReviewFella 2 года назад
I believe the accuracy refers to colour grading etc in movies and TV shows, which is much warmer than real life. Targeting 6500k neutral white. To try and reflect the content as the creator intended. You may also be used to looking at much cooler displays, so it can take a bit of time to get used to. I find warm 50 too warm, although if you had your TV calibrated, that’s how it would be set. However, there are a wealth of TV settings to choose from. For example I prefer Warm 30, but you can cool it down more. Or choose Standard as a picture mode, for a very cool image. But light skin tones may look too cold and blue. However I’m not a TV calibrator and others may be able to answer your question in more depth.

I think you’re right. The in menu guide isn’t very clear in explaining if High or Low gives more protection. The reason to consider setting it Low is if you're gaming. @TheReviewFella
@TheReviewFella 2 года назад
Hi, you won't be able to tell for sure without going into the engineer/service menu. And for that you'll need the service remote. However, as far as I know, the C1's built in the latter half of last year and early this year do have the evo panel. The evo panel usually has a slight pink tint on the left side of the screen if you look at the TV off centre, and slight blue tint on the right side. This is usually the best way to tell outside of the service menu, and it's down to a filter or screen coating applied to the evo panels.

Hi, I've received c1 a week ago. Really big jump with my ps5, but disappointed with 1080p videos on youtube, and dolby vision tv-shows on Netflix gains a lot of grainy noise in the image. very often think image is too dark, I prefer to have it a little bit brighter. also, it remembers the last HDMI port that was picked, that's why every morning when I want to watch some news, it launches my PlayStation automatically first, so I need to turn it off, and then switch to another HDMI, and open youtube. Mb you have some suggestions?

Mine does that, when I've been playing my PS5 at night, the PS5 turns back on in the morning when I turn the TV on. For me I just change channel before turning my TV off at night. However to disable the feature on the PS5, go to Settings, System, HDMI, and disable HDMI Device Link.
