The reason Electro Pea has extra speed is because Popcap thought that since he was already way too unbalanced, they may as well add some extra speed to tip the scales

I mean I get the idea. Give the peashooter that's (on paper) worst at long range something to approach enemies easier. The issue is that A) he's a godamm peashooter he can aproach anything he wants just by clicking hyper B) his long range game is still much better than the actual melee characters who can do basically nothing at long range other than chip damage or annoying enemies with goop or ultra ball and C) popcap just heavily underestimated how good the manual detonation gimmick would be, even if electro pea literally didn't do any damage at long range he'd be solid character just because how insane he is at mid to close range

Personally haven't found much use for reload upgrades on most characters. In my experience most characters will either die before/while reloading regardless of the upgrade or simply be in a situation where they can reload basically unpunished every time, I usually take health or speed upgrade instead (on top of the obligatory ammo and damage upgrades whenever possible) Obviously I run it on those characters where the reload upgrade is essentially a fire rate upgrade though

I refuse to believe the health upgrade is considerable for high health classes! A low health class can make their last 10 health last longer due to generaly having a smaller hitbox and better movement. High health classes will lose it quick because they easily receive damage like the tanks they are. For the upgrade to be more balanced across classes I'm sure a % increase (≈10%) makes much more sense. If the increase rounded to a multiply of 5, as low as 5 or 10 to as high as 25 or 30 seems right.

The problem with speed upgrade is how it only gives you +5% speed.

how did you still not realise the speed upgrade does nothing? yes it gives a maximum of 5% extra speed, but that is nothing since its not even noticeable. never put a speed upgrade on characters. and when it comes to health, only put that upgrade on characters who need it like: scientists, roses, imps, agent pea, characters that can get to 160 health with an hp upgrade and who have access to armor (Rock pea can tank 1 zpg shot at full health, with a health upgrade while in gatling mode). otherwise, always go for ammo, damage and reload. for all stars, torchwood, Supremo, most Citrons and probably others it would be overheat so it takes longer to overheat, damage and health regen.

Speed is definitely noticable, the amount of time you spend walking really adds up over time and being able to move a bit faster during fights comes in clutch Overheat can easily be managed which is why I don't really recommend it to experienced players Health is fantastic on almost every character in the game as you can life much more things and have opportunities to survive you normally won't, trust me it's clutch

@@t_piig the only character i notice the speed on "could" be Hotrod since he has 2 speed upgrades wich means +10% speed. otherwise i dont think it is a good upgrade that is worthy over other upgrades. for the health bit, i get it, but its not needed on everyone. citrons dont need it, roses do since they are made of glass, sb's dont and most others dont. the characters that really need the health are weaker characters (imps, 100hp characters) or mid range characters that are weaker (Flame Face, Squawk) and even some longer range characters, like camo soldier. but for most characters, health inst needed since they have enough. health should only be used to get better breakpoints for extra survivability or characters who need it due to their playstyle. and when i said the overheat upgrade, i mean the one that makes it take longer before your weapon overheats so you can fire longer. the overheat penalty (reduce overheat time before you can fire again) indeed isnt really needed for people that can time there weapons.

@@qxlf speed is one of the best upgrades. its the only one that is helpful 100% of the game, if you play the game enough you can easily tell the difference between having it on and off

i will say for alot of your hp upgrades character can replace it with health regen besides from scientist and sunflowers (unless you're not running self healing for those two)
