GTR is more you. The Porsche GT cars’ benefits aren’t that important to you yet without valuing that track dynamics they are less usable on the street. The non-GT cars are not exciting enough for you

Greetings from Houston... Been enjoying your content for a very long time. I too am a Lamborghini guy, my first was an 1984 Countach I had to import from Europe because back then there were no USDM or dealers here. Anyway, thanks for your hard work to bring us your great content!

Honestly, they're 2 completely different cars. You buy a GT4 to just drive it. Not necessarily on tracks, even just on cool twisty backroads. You're definitely gonna get more enjoyment out of a GT4 imo when doing that cause it's a much lighter and more nimble car than the AMG GTR. Plus the manual on the GT4 would make the drive that more special. If you don't care too much about these aspects though and would rather have something that's a bit more comfortable and you want lots of power then the AMG is obviously the better choice. At the end of the day they're both really great options for the price, you just have to know what you want from a car in order to choose which one to get.

If i had 100k to spend, I would go for a McLaren 570s for around 80k right now on auto trader and keep 20k in my pocket, maybe even 5k for any upgrades or customisation to personalise my car

Paul you cant go wrong with any of the VW group brands(Porsche, Lambo, Audi, Bentley). They tend to use the same engines across the brands and tune them specifically for each purpose. Thats something that anyone can go get tuned to the way they like it. That being said the quality of Porsche is fantastic. Its also why Porsche owners tend to keep their cars a long time. As you point out depreciation on mb is a real concern.

I've had a few Porsche and every one was a great car and were all great driving cars but the one huge downside is that none of them felt special. They are such a good daily that they just end up having no sense of occasion.

The cockpit of a AMG GTR is a nice place to be. I think you should buy it over a GT4. Would sit along nicely beside the Nissan GTR.

Good video SOL. I have owned a 2018 amg gtr since new. I have also owned,rs6's,Nissan gtr's,new 458 italia back in 2013 and luv my amg. It's a brute of a car and has a special feeling when you drive it,keeps you on your toes which makes it a good drivers car. I purchased a rentech tuning dongle which simply plugs in to the eobd port. 2 flick switches stock and race. I reckon approx 680bhp ish and I've got to say makes it so muchbetter,absolute animal.

AMG GTC is the perfect car for non-track use. Many don’t realize that the AMG GT has BETTER weight distribution than even a Cayman.

Best value supercar is the McLaren 720s like the one in Archie's more recent videos. You won't get that level of performance for that money, but with McLaren, the reliability and aftercare is questionable. Bit of a gamble. But I would prefer the AMG GTR for that reason. Btw the GTR held the nurburgring lap record for a rwd production car two or three years ago, it is a track weapon.

991.1 GT3 - well below 100k now and the reason the GTR was made was to try and beat this car! Why you would spend 100k on a GT4 vs a few old GT3 i have no idea :/

R8 v10 spyder plus 2016 to 2018 with audi sports exhaust sounds awesome pick one up for 85 to 95k already lost 45k so shouldn't lose to much if anything might go up in value in future as production numbers aren't massive!!

I never understand the new vs used debate. I feel like you can only compare a new car with a new car and vice versa. The mindset of someone buying a new car is completely different. They are putting value on it being brand new and maybe having that warranty with it.

Having owned a 981 GT4 and currently own a GTR, there is no comparison. The GTR is the clear winner on the road and track.

The comparisons between the Porsches makes no sense. You say that there are too many variants of the amg gt, yet there are plenty of Porsches within both the cayman and 911 models. The 911 is much more of a direct rival btw.

My brother was a tech at Mercedes. I would NEVER buy a newer performance mercedes. Terrible buy for $100k. I'd 100x over choose a GT4 over that AMG. In 10 years time that AMG is going to cost you double or triple or quadruple the amount of money to keep on the road than the GT4.
