@@its_ziloz2154 My main channel is NatoPotato but it has been inactive for a while because I primarily stream on twitch under NatoPotato. I will be uploading content to this channel, NatoPotato channel and streaming again in a couple months :)
I absolutely adored this review. Everything I need to know about the monitor is explained thoroughly... and with panache, I might add. I was worried about its pixel density which is also addressed in the review. I have decided that, at least for this specific topic and in my honest opinion, size is indeed favourable.
That is extremely kind of you to say, thank you so much Mel, you are a legend! Definitely pixel density is an issue but depending how close you are to your monitor it may not matter. If you are up close and personal definitely suggest the AOC CQ32G2E instead which is 1440p. Thank you again :)
Im 3 minutes in and all im wondering is how you only have 198 subs. Dafuq is that? Your personality alone should have you at at least a few 100k subs. Deff subbing just for that alone
That is the damn nicest thing ever, thank you so much, it means the world to me. This is a new account, I mainly stream on Twitch but wanted to diversify into RU-vid to keep things exciting and interesting. Seriously that means so much, hope you have a great day/night
Gosh I sure do love this GuruGeek guy, he has such beautiful facial hair! This review ain't too shabby either, I heard Forbes magazine put you on the list of 30 under 30 :O
For those looking to buy this, there isn't a 'little' smearing, there is LOTS of smearing. If you look at anything black on a coloured background, and turn quick, you can see a noticeable amount.
For my wife this is heaven....she wanted curved, and it was alot more affordable for the specs compared to higher resolution version. Outside of her knitting videos she needed something she could also hook her NINTENDO SWITCH up to which high refresh 1080p is perfect for
Bahahaha I love this channel already! I just bought the AOC CQ32G3SE and from what I can tell the difference is this is a 2560x1440 and supports HDR. I have been looking for the exact HDR certification but cannot find anything. Waiting for my monitor to come :P I paid $500 NZD because it was on sale, but MSRP seems to be $600 NZD
You absolute maniac, I love it! Thank you so much hahaha. That's a great monitor I have the same monitor as my main monitor, 1440p definitely makes the world of difference with 32" and up! You will love it :D
Yes, I'm proud to say I still have and use a optical drive in 2024 and always think you can never not have enough display cables - Particularly from when you knock them from time to time and they become damaged. Yes, I get nervous too upon first opening. This is in case it's been mistreated by the delivery guy and I suddenly discover a massive crack in the screen.
HAHAHA! Absolute legend, thank you! Yeah, personally anything 32" and above should be 2k+ but the value from AOC is great, I use the 1440p version for my main and this for my side monitor.
I wasn't sure if I was going to buy the monitor, but after seeing the video I ended up buying it because of your review! Thank you so much! Hope all is well.
Am planning to buy one from amazon. Am after the high refresh rates for gaming but need to use it for office works as well. Wonder if it is great for office works?
It would work perfect for what you want, it's an all-round great monitor. If you are getting the 1080p version I would recommend the 27 inch otherwise if you want 32 inch I would recommend the 1440p version :)
Great review!! Fun, informative, like with actual opinions from you that have details most others don't go into. You even spent some time on the menu and actually describe shit!! I'm going to grab this as the only downside for me might be the brightness, but you gave me so much info on the other points I'm happy to pull the trigger on it. You my friend, are amazing! looking forward to your other videos. Much love from a new subscriber in Melbourne!
Thank you so damn much Bruno! I am glad I could help. Look the brightness won't really be an issue unless you are using it in a brightly lit office space or if there is a lot of sunlight. I really hope you enjoy it!
Watched this review In May as my final decision maker to get this monitor. Now September & I love it! Thanks for making this review cuz for knows what I would’ve ended up with otherwise !
@@GuruGeek I was telling my mate about what I ended up getting PC wise and forgot what the name of the monitor I have was,, so came to this video because I remembered your video 😂 but yeah thanks again for this video, it really was what sealed the deal for me! The red detailing on it is beautiful! The ONLY problem was the buttons were reallllll difficult to find. I ended up taking my HDMI out of my switch / tv thinking the display was fked but no. I forgot to press the power button. 😂 It took ages to get everything plugged in and setup and then I was so upset when it wouldn’t turn on and I couldn’t find the button. My mum even had a look, and my brother 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you so much! Let me know if you have any questions at all happy to help! If you are getting this for a PC I would recommend the 1440p version over 1080p
It's almost not even noticeable as the curve is quite minimal, it subtly brings you in to the content. The G5 is a much steeper curve and may take a little more getting used to, that being said the G5 will most likely be a better monitor if you can get used to the curve. Let me know which you decide!
Thank you so much! I definitely agree, I thought I'd try record this video differently my hdmi wouldn't reach so it was all locally stored on the camera and I forgot my settings were different to my display out until after I had spent hours recording LOL. Thank you for pointing it out though! Always love improving.
@@GuruGeek Yes, firstly I though I would feel uncomfortable with lower ppi (i was using 60Hz full-hd 23.5 inches). But after get used to this one, it is very perfect! 165 Hz of refresh rate pushed me to the new experience! 😂
@@GuruGeek Btw, just for an advice. I think advising clip like teaching or explaining things is also a good idea. To buy expensive items for reviewing may not worth the youtube view income yet except you get sponsored. Still want you guy to upload something. Keep giving it a try! 😉
Gday I’m not sure if you remember me but I got this monitor at Christmas time after seeing this review. I have a question about it tho. Does sound okay through speakers on the monitor at all using a HDMI?
That's awesome! I would definitely recommend either using headphones or getting some speakers. I do not believe it has speakers inbuilt but it does have a 3.5mm audio output :)
It depends what you are looking for in terms of use, panel type, size, resolution, so many factors. All in all this is a good value budget monitor for 1080p gaming :)
Sorta new to gaming and my current TV is stuffed and so been looking at TVs lately since I'm a console user and had a friend suggest a monitor instead since I only use my TV for games. Would you say this is a good monitor to get as a starting point instead of paying more for a TV (keep in mind, I only have the xbox series S)
Your friend is definitely on to something, most gaming monitors will have a far better response rate than TVs. This would be perfect for that. Keep in mind there are no speakers on the monitor though so you'll either need to plug direct into your Xbox or to the monitor headphone jack :)
hey mate, was just wondering something. I haven't had a monitor before, would this one be good for PS4? And also, a question about monitors in general, do you need a PC to use one or can you just go straight to HDMI?? Thanks!
Hey Sid! So you'll actually notice a far greater improvement from going to a monitor over a standard TV. You'll feel instantly better due to the response times! This monitor has HDMI and would work perfect :)
Personally anything above 27 for me I would be using 1440p but that also depends how far you are sitting away from the monitor. My main 1440p monitor broke and I have been using this monitor for over a year now as my main one. It's been pretty good to me :)
Hello, just bought the 27" 240hz and i wonder if i should have aimed for the 32" for more 50dollars, what do you think? Best regards, gret review bro Make one for the best settings and will have lots of people looking for that😂@@GuruGeek
I have it set to Contrast 60 Brightness 100 Gamma 1 Gamer 3 Shadow Control 50 Game Color 10 Lowblue off Overdrive Medium Freesync On That's all the settings I could go through :)
dude your so underrated eared a sub u should have 454k not just 454 subs you obviously put a lot of effort in to these videos which is great keep up the great work! and nice moustache :thumbs up:
@@GuruGeek yo i have to ask you a question though is the resolution good because people are saying that 1080p is bad and pixelated for 24 inch monitors and higher so does the pixilation bother you?
@@GuruGeek it might be a big finacial desision but i might get a SUW49C 49" its pretty cheap since its 49 inches most 49inches are like 1000-2000 so im pretty suprised
I'll be totally honest, anything above 27" personally I would recommend 1440p but that being said it depends how close you are to your monitor. Like if you were sitting back with a controller or something then this would be fine but close and personal ideally 1440p. Hope that helps!
So I recently got a Xbox series x and was deciding to buy this monitor and I’m not a expert with this stuff but do you think I’ll be able to play full performance and do you recommend it for the new Xbox?
That's awesome! If you want the full performance out of the console (4k 120hz) you will want a monitor that supports HDMI 2.1 at the moment they are very limited and VERY expensive. But this monitor would be perfect to keep you going in the meantime until prices come down as HDMI 2.1 is a new technology, especially for gaming monitors.
@@GuruGeek wow!Im on a budget of $250 what’s the best monitor you think I can get that’s 27”and runs 1080 120fps or 4K 120fps and I good respond times that looks good?sorry I’m very terrible with these types of stuff
I would look at the AOC 27G2 if you want flat IPS panel or the AOC C27G2 if you want curved VA panel. I think that 4k is our of the question at that price unfortunately.
They are actually quite similar looking at the specs. The Samsung is slightly less curved by the looks of it at 1800R Most of the other specs are fairly similar.
Do u know if i can be used on a monitor arm? as can't see a pic of it from the back without the stand, I'm planning to go for this on my stacking monitor setup.
I appreciate you thinking I'm underrated, thank you! They did send it out to me, I'm partnered on Twitch, sponsored by Logitech, Astro, Blue, Rode and Thermaltake this is just a new channel I created for a bit of fun and something different :)
You absolute legend! Unfortunately because I haven't been able to make content, after becoming a dad I've struggled to find the time but I will eventually one day. Thank you so much!
The G5 is a better monitor, depending your budget I would go for that. My local PC store has a discount on it at the moment so depending where you live you might get a good deal on it! Good luck!!!
@@GuruGeek Well that's a good News :) Can't wait to see more content even though at first I was intrested to buy the AOC C32G2E so I was looking around youtube some review & yours was the first I checked, i wish if you've tested Gsync or freesync it depends on the card you own also Hdr is it good or not & some other test like Ghosting & refresh rate that you can test using www.testufo.com/ghosting
Hey can you please tell me if this monitor is G-sync compatible? Cause i think this monitor is perfect but will it have ghosting issues with my navidia card on fps games
The card has freesync which is gsync compatible. As it is a VA panel you will get slight ghosting but not noticeable. I would recommend going the flat IPS panel of this monitor instead of the curved :)
It looks to be the same specs except for 2k resolution, which is a far better choice at 32 inches. My only major issue with this monitor was it's resolution but the newer model seems to overcome that. Would be a great choice!
It would be a decent choice for you, but it is more of an entry/mid level budget monitor. Great value for money, just check to make sure they haven't released any newer versions to replace this one :)
So I recently bought this monitor. I’ve plugged it in using HDMI 1 and have gone into the monitor settings and only shows 144hz yet the monitor is 165hz is there any solution to this?
Yeah you can! Gotta make sure the monitor measurements match up with the mount though, it's a standard mounting plate so you shouldn't have any problems anyway. If you are unsure feel free to link the monitor mount you want and I can take a look too :)
I believe there is only 2 of this variant, the c32g1(144hz) and the c32g2(165hz) but the G2 superceded the G1 so you might struggle to find the older model :)
What does text look like in windows on this monitor? I currently have a Philips 32 inch 1080p and the fonts in windows - and in windows apps - look really fuzzy and blocky.
Text looks perfectly fine and there are options to sharpen the image if required. You could set a preset for text specifically and change to it on the fly if you need the screen to be sharper and then change it back when you don't need it. I highly doubt you would require to do this anyway :)
@@GuruGeek Excellent, thanks for that. Kogan has it on sale right now for $328 and free postage. Looks like I'm going to be upgrading my old beast then :)
That's a great deal for the current times we are in! Keep in mind this screen is curved, if you want the flat screen version the model is AOC 32G2E Let me know how it goes!!! without the 'C'
I haven't had that problem, it could be worth trying another device plugged in, different cable, if nothing then best to contact AOC or the place of purchase. I personally wouldn't use the speakers anyway and get a good headset or external speakers. Good luck!
It don't have the built-in speaker, can it connect to other speaker to have the music? if it is connect with ps4, does it have the music directly or should it connect with the speaker for the music?
Can you also force 1440p 120hz on the xbox series x when it comes out or does forcing 1440p keep it at 60? When I tried 1440p on the one x I couldn't get over 1440p 60hz and freesync wouldn't work.
In theory it should be possible to achieve 1440p at 120hz but we won't know what's truly compatible until release, might be worth waiting for release to see which monitors are most compatible with the Xbox. Just so you know this monitor in the video is only 1080p :)
@@GuruGeek I have the c32g2 america version curved 32 and it is labeled as a 1080p but runs 1440p at 60 hz on my xbox (if you go into xbox settings deep enough ) and 1080p 165hz on my pc. Also checked monitor settings and confirmed 1440p resolution so it is "working" even though it's sold as a 1080. So I guess my question is if I can get the same setup going with the series x at 1440p 120?
That is super interesting, didn't know that was possible! I mean the only thing you can do is wait and see really and then if not look at getting a new monitor.
You can actually run higher resolutions and it downscales to suit the monitors resolution. Sometimes provides crisper details but most of the time not worth it unless you have the higher resolution monitor.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! That's so good 😍 The P letter is probably the display port cable which goes into the display port of your graphics card but if you are using console then it will be HDMI. Enjoy!
@@GuruGeek thank you and I’ve got a couple more questions. Do I need to use the display port? And also can a ps4 run with 165 hz even though it caps at 60? And also how do I turn it on? Merry Christmas!
Use the display port for pc hdmi for Ps4. The ps4 only runs at 60hz as well and it will be automatic. On PC you need to enable it in either Nvidia control panel or with the Radeon software.
@@GuruGeek yep and also how do I turn it on it wouldn’t start I put in the power cable unless it wasn’t in properly. I don’t need to have the display port connected to start it do I?
If you have a PS4 pro it would be worth it otherwise stick with 1080p for a PS4. It's probably better to stick with 1080p in general for that generation of console anyway :)
Much love thank you! Yes there is ghosting on this monitor, it isn't that bad and to be expected for the lower budget monitors. It's quite minimal that I don't even notice it but it is there. Still best value monitor I have owned for the price point :)
@@GuruGeek absolute gent, thank you mate. I definitely overthink ghosting but let’s be honest it’s probably a more than capable monitor and can get it for 299 👍
Exactly right! It would be nice to have it all hahaha. I would recommend the 1440p version however. Or get the 27" version of this. Unless you plan on using it from a bit of a distance.
I believe they support 1440p so it would definitely be worth it for that extra bit of crispness otherwise get the 27" Personally I find that 32 at 1080p is a little too stretched, but that's me
You’re not even funny at all stop trying to act funny.. jokes mate love your humour watta crack up watching. Thinking of getting this from mwave cheers guru and MATEEE continue the RU-vid content please why’d you stop for??!??
This was the most confusing thing I've ever read in my life, turns out it's my kink 😳 You're welcome! Lemme know how it goes. Also I've stopped at the moment because I don't have my studio anymore, it's now a kids play room... One day I'll start making content again :)
It does not unfortunately, I'd definitely prefer to get some speakers over monitor audio anyway, even the cheap speakers sounds better than most monitors do anyway :)
My bad I was looking at my other monitor, there is a headphone jack which will take a 3.5mm auxillary cable. So any speakers that have that connector would be perfect. I love the Logitech light sync speakers. But you'll need to buy the auxiliary cable separately.
