Full run through of installing a ‪@givenergy‬ EV charger along with app functionality and integrating it into an All in one and PV system.
These are so simple to connect and with cloud functionality give some real versatility that is otherwise very hard to achieve.
Thumbs up from me!

Great content, you have a good pace, too many channels speak slowly as if the viewers are dumb or 90 years old. I'm getting a Giv all in one and a 19Kwhr solar array and their home charger and a Tesla in the next fortnight so it was useful hear how simple it is to get the energy flows as you want them, Much to learn, your content was quick concise and authoritative. Thank you.

Due to RU-vid enquiries we cover most of the UK. But will be more expensive depending how far we are travelling. Do you have solar or battery storage on your house? Most are pretty easy to use outside of all the apps. The givenergy solution is one of my favourites and they are very good value

Interesting video. Any idea if it is likely to be compatible with Intelligent Octopus at any point soon?

Is there a planned 3-phase Ev charger, or are you talking about other components?

Hi Mark, just had my Giv EV Charger fitted to go with 2x 9.5kWh batteries and Gen3 inverter. One thing I wish there was was schedules that could dictate the charge mode, so during day time schedule, Solar only, during nighttime for time of use, charge from Grid. That would make it automatic, whereas now I would have to switch back and forward from Solar to Grid and enable a schedule… each night…… or am i missing something?

You are missing something! If you leave it in solar mode but also set an overnight charge schedule it will do exactly that.

Thanks I have it in solar mode , with a schedule for overnight charging . Overnight charge works fine, but the solar charge during the day doesn’t start and all excess sent to grid (12.59kWh today!)

@@darrenhenderson5355 I would get your installer to check the system over as that should work unless the vehicle is full?

I have an AIO and was considering getting one of these fitted as looking at getting solar soon. I already have a Pod Point Solo 3 so I was going swap that out as it doesn't work right with the battery. Any suggestions how I'd go about that and how it would be commissioned? Thanks for the valuable insight.

Get in touch with a local GivEnergy installer. It’s a relatively easy change over for a qualified electrician

I’m sure the one I fitted had a lot more screws, if that’s a new version looks really good. Spoke to GivEnergy last week still no date for octopus 🐙 integration for EV charger, however the inverters are.

I addressed them both in a single Twitter post, but only received a response from Octopus, which indicated that the issue was on GivEnergy's end.

Hey mate. Yeah standalone the chargers don’t currently integrate directly with octopus but…. With an aio on inverter control they do 💪. The AIO instigates the charge cycle etc. just need to remember to leave plug and off and the system does the rest through the API
