Hey all, just popping on here to address some Tera comments and DMs... This is not a way to address karens, or counter commenting attacks, show my insecurities, or XYZ... honestly my reason for making her is embarrassingly simple: I'm playing with my camera & having a blast scripting characters! I've never done it before and it's really frickin' fun for me lol. There is literally no deeper meaning behind it 😂, the only purpose is to make you smile or laugh because I'm genuinely having a great time with the process behind-the-scenes, and can't wait to travel with that skill and talk about something other than building a van haha. We love playing and experimenting with our creativity, and while I can see Tera isnt for everyone, brace yourselves, because there will be plenty other characters to come in the future 🤣 PS. I view Tera as more a "negative Nancy" than a Karen 😉
Been following since the very beginning of this van build! Y'all are an inspiration to the van life community, and I have been looking for a van since coming across your build. This will no doubt be looked at as a gold standard of van builds. I also love the character creations and scripting of the dialogue. 10/10 acting as well 🙂
Love your idea! I'm not sure if it has an airbag on passenger side or not. if it does, please consider keeping the table and mount out of the airbag's way just in case.
Hey Margaret. Love your videos. I am a tv and film director and even though I've never commented before, I wanted to tell you that the cute "talking to yourself section" would be better if the look directions were complimentary. Meaning, one of you needs to look to the left of the lens, while the other looks to the right of the lens. This is standard in all films and tv and just feels off if both characters are looking in the same direction. Again, not that you care, just trying to help you be a bit more cinematic.
I love these tables! I think for anyone capable of engineering their own table (both in skill and having the proper tools) should make their own. And for those who cannot make their own, that’s where Lagun comes to the rescue. I think you guys are doing a great job at showing people what’s possible. I’ve even seen people make really great table solutions with less. It’s all about what you’re capable of and we know there’s nothing Ladi can’t build.
'The cat let me in.' 🤣🤣💖🐈 I was thinking to myself that it makes perfect sense for you guys to not just get a Lagun system since you have the ingenuity and the skillset to do something more specialized. You mentioned that you were showing it as a diy option but also mentioned that a lot of people can't even mount the already simplified Lagun system correctly. 🤣🤣 I see why so many people buy it though. Great progress. Seems like the finishing touches are coming up. 🎉🎉 -Troy & Aimee
Another option for lightening that table top is to glue corrugaged cardboard between a thin top and bottom layer of plywood, and just have thick edges, like some IKEA shelves. The result is pretty strong but impressively light.
I swear to God. It’s like watching science friction watching LADI!!!😂 And the acting classes are paying off Margaret... so so entertaining!! Stay safe and God Bless!!💕
Hi. I suggest you make a lid on that contraption containing the laptop. The lid has a hidden magnet, glued in a routered recess underneath. You can only open it with a magnet or iron from the top. Keep the opening magnet or iron somewhere else and nobody will find your laptop.
You two are such forward looking designers. You both have a fearless, very flexible mindset. You are always thinking: what do we really want and let’s do that.
The reason the aluminium was bending that easily is because it needs to be hardened after welding. This happens over time automatically (months) or in an oven within a day. The other way around, if you ever need to bend aluminium you can torch it to heat it up and it will soften just like when you are welding it. Anything structural made from aluminium will be a lot stronger when heat treated after welding
Brilliant- complete custom solution. Really looking forward to seeing how you solve the problem of storing the laptops. So enjoyable to watch and Tera is a real handful! 😉
I love watching your creativity and problem solving. When working while traveling you might need to put a piece of ant-skid material/nubbly shelf liner down so the laptop doesn't slide when accelerating or stopping. I believe this is a great idea while traveling, but it could be a hazard if the airbag deploys.
Yes, it wil be a BIG hazerd if, by working and driving, the passenger airbag deploys. Than you will be hit by a rocket. Please find yourself more info on that by youtube cresh testing video;s, you will be shockt! Don't put ANY thing in the feeld of a exploding airbag!!
Impressed as always you two! So amazing. I love the table development. I was thinking watching your video what is gained vs. what is lost in a build-as-you-go style instead of have everything designed before starting. I think when you've completed the project it would be a cool video to see a video showcasing the development of ideas along the way and how approaching the van build as a per project timeline has benefited your project and maybe how it has negatively impacted your build as well. Thank you for the wonderful content!
I am STOKED for the journeys to begin! Love watching it come together. I personally don’t care for Lagun tables so I say why the hell not customize! So… Eamon & Bec + Kara and Nate would be such a great vid to see their reactions to your customizations! If that’s what you want of course!! Yay! So excitingggggggg
Tera is such a kick!! Margaret, your writing for Tera, is just so very cool! Ya'll are super inspiring, but, at the same time, your both super talented people. Happy 🎃
Hey! If you have a swirling monitor in the driver unit. Then you should consider a magnetic keyboard which attaches firmly to the work table and when you're done with the work it hides in the space between the blower.😅
Especially if an airbag deploys. Will the airbag throw your laptop towards your face? Edit - I now realize your van doesn't have a passenger airbag. That's a substantial storage cubby where the airbag is in the Promaster!
@@observerobserver6040, one advantage to the table, at least in a frontal collision, is that the laptop will be somewhat contained instead of being loose on the passenger's lap if there was no table.
I agree. Car accidents can get incredibly nasty and that table has nowhere to go if/when your chest hits it. Part of why cars are safer now is because they crumple to absorb impact but people still break ribs on the wheel and dashboard. It also adds another barrier should you need cut out or to escape through the passenger window from water or fire which is already more difficult because they put security film on the inside. I feel like the compromise here is to change the type of setup. A Bluetooth keyboard and a tablet linked to the laptop in the little cubby would allow them to keep working without sacrificing the safety we hope we never need.
I was looking forward for THIS episode since you guys mentioned in a very early video, an office table for the passenger seat isn't a very common thing in van builds, i've always imagined how you guys would do it The only thing i would do differently is that i would go with black aluminum, or just paint it black
My sugestion for the hidden cabinet for the laptops isto use server rack rail because it can lock in the extended position and u can plug all the things as like in the cabinet drawer and then put it away plus the top part can be used as a shelf
You might want to add an angle bracket for the arm just to reinforce the strength! Plus it will help with stabilizing the table top when driving on ruff roads! The vibrations could make the arm bouncy without more arm support! Just saying! Other than that it looks good!
Your talents & creativity know no bounds!! I would LOVE these office options for us in Jits! ❤ Loved this video - the humour is on point for us 😅 xx Tania
You should have a little lip on one side of the table so things don't slide off when going down bumpy roads, over speed bumps no matter how little causes things to move.
Don't feel bad about the lack of Lagun table mounts, just because something is standard doesn't mean it's the right thing for your build! Besides, with everything custom you have done with this van from 3D printing, custom water tank, window ideas etc. I wasn't expecting anything less when it came to tables and office spaces, it looks AMAZING!
This table is cool! Especially that slot.... great job guys! Would you ever have the arm in the passenger seat without the table over it though? The paranoid side of me is remembering a girl from my neighborhood that got in an accident and had a pole go through her stomach. She survived and I dont know where the pole was from but i would be afraid to have the arm there without the table to add a barrier between it and myself.
When TIG welding, hold the wire like you are pointing a finger gun and use your thumb like the hammer to feed the wire. Poking the wire is less uniform.
Every part of this build has been top quality. The only thing so far that I'm not keen on is the drone board which is a bit too much clutter in a small space.
Yes, totally agree on the flimsiness of Lagun tables. Yours is much better!! I also want to see a rubber mat on the table, so your computer and mouse pad stay put and don’t slide around all the time.
Hi Guys! As always: ❤❤❤. For the swivel table maybe add some kind of cargo pull-out system so you can have shelves there or a place to securely mount (hide) your laptop ?
I would not use that desk whilst driving, the airbag will throw your laptop into your face, and the desk itself will turn into a blunt wooden guillotine in the event of a collision. Telling you cos I love you both, x
Margaret, please tell Ladi thank you for speaking Czech, my grandmother would speak it to me and I would answer in English, I miss the language so much thank you again ❣️
LOL "Open both doors, put your feet close to the camera, show your butt and look out" I almost spit out my coffee 😆😂 I love your little inner monologue character talks, it makes me laugh every time
Good ideas about the time and skills. Is going to be able the driver to see through the right side mirror while the other is using the table? Keep implementing your ideas, you are an inspiration.
Nice work, I'm the son of a cabinet maker and I can relate to what goes into custom making all of your parts. also I'm jealous, I'd like to have Ladi's Milwaukee cordless tool budget.🙂
Ouh so those guys' hands are golden czech hands, that explains a lot to me. Zlatí českí ručičky, bolo cítiť už od prvých videií, že technickým myslením ste niekde inde ako väčšina vanlife hashtagu.
Love your videos... BUT!!! 9:00 You should not cross the axis between two people talking to each other, otherwise it appears they are both looking in the same direction. 😉👍
Trust me you don't want that heater blowing on your feet. They have no control and when you figure that out let me know. I live in double the space in a car hauler and that heater is beyond ridiculous. By the way love the build and the channel!!
@@ladiandmargaret Way way way to hot even on lowest setting. Keep that little remote handy to the bed so you can turn it on and off easily. But if Ladi can figure out a controller that actually works, I dare say he could sell a million of them. Many a time I have woken up, -35 degrees Celsius out side and this thing has gone rogue and it was 35 above inside my trailer. Very much a love hate relationship!
Margret - the conversation with yourself - hashing out all of the criticism you think people are going to give you; just says "I am insecure". Look. People love the content that you two produce. And if people complain - then let them. Don't make decisions based on what you think people will say. You two are good human beings. So just produce the content and stop with all this negative doubting content within the video. Just live your best life... and you will continue to grow spite what the doubters write in the comments. Once or twice - this "Doubting Thomas" monologue/dialogue was cute, but it has become old quickly.
