My daughter, who is 15, applied for her first part time job at a large supermarket, they had to do a video interview, I recommended she watch your video, she set up her computer, raised it up, had post-it notes, got extra lighting, practised, looked in the camera, and got the job. She wanted to thank you!😀😀❤❤
I think the tip about "doing it from a computer or laptop only" should have a phrase added: "if you can". Some people don't have access to either except for public libraries (like me). I think if you don't have access to either, then the next best thing is to make sure you have a phone stand, and walk around your house to find a spot with the best cellphone signal.
I had to do an interview using my I-phone as a hotspot for my laptop. It was nerve racking but fortunately and amazingly there were no hiccups in the hour long interview.
I got the job! I start on August 14th, as a property manager. I'm a resident manager with a different company that refused to honor the agreement I made with the VP that hired me. I make 12 an hour and was promised 15 after my probation period ended also that I would be paid for the many miles I have to drive between properties. When I mentioned this I was told the VP at the time had no business making that offer and this might not be the job for me. That was 9 months ago. I'm now moving on to the pay I should have been getting along with full medical and dental paid, mileage covered and maternity leave. The company I'm leaving is offering me 16 an hour to keep me here. Hmm where was that generosity when we had a pre-negotiated agreement. During my phone interview the HR manager was very impressed with my answers and I owe that to your advise which gave me a lot of confidence and reminded me to keep it about what I was bringing to them and not about what I needed. Thank you Cass!
Hello Cass, I’m Maram from Saudi Arabia After watching and listening to almost all of your videos on interview tips. Not once maybe 10 times. I finally got a job as an executive assistant, i was applying to work for this organization since early 2019, I won’t say it’s my dream job, because I know after that i will have bigger goal to achieve, I went to so many interviews for many different positions, I became an expert in interviews. 😂💪🏻 I want thank u for the valuable tips. They really would effectively 😍. Best Regards Maram Abdullah
You are the best I went from my PRN position to a permanent position You rock. Thank you ❣️ I have been promoted 4 times since I have been following you. Thank you ❣️
Great points. The main difference is you’re now responsible for setting the stage and all the tech rather than the employers are... which means there’s more responsibility on your part. It’s also an advantage since some interviewees may not put the same amount of effort in doing this.
Dear Cass, I wanted to say thank you very much for your help. I had negative feedback about my applications for a long time but with your help, I got an offer., a better one. Thank you very much.
Thank you for the tips! I ended both of my interviews todsy with 'Is there anything that we have discussed today that gives you hesitancy in offering me the position'! This is bold - as I have asked in previous interviews if I meet their requirements- but I have never asked for criticism!?! It was scary but I actually appreciated feeling them out learning a couple of areas that I could be better in. They both told me I would be hearing back from them! Thanks Cassandra - I will never end another interview without asking that question again! A+++
I made it through Round 1, watching your videos! I now have 2 more video "interviews" with Corporate and VP level folks. Still watching your videos, fingers crossed but prior preparation is the key!!!
I had a video interview today, my first one. I did a pretty bad job - i felt much more nervous, and i felt less like I was in the moment. You do need to think a bit differently to an in-person interview.
I love how authentic your videos are. So relatable. Almost feels like I know you. So far I have been through 6 different videos from you. Always something to take away from each one. Most importantly for me is that you take a ton of weight off of the nerves surrounding interviews. Thank you.
I’ve binge watched your videos for a few days before my interview, I just had my interview and was offered the job on the spot!! Thank you for your help with these videos
You know Casandra, I watched all your videos from first video till today and spent maybe more than a month to do it and put like on everyone and shared. I started to feel that you becoming my real friend.. Your personality fantastic and your information are helpful. Love you Casandra 🌹🌹
These are all excellent tips! I applied some tips of yours from previous videos. I had a few video interviews and thanks to your lighting and question/answer tips, I was offered the job that I really wanted! Thanks for all that you do!
I got the job! Thank you for all of your videos :) I practiced, used the lighting angle tips in this vid, and asked the hard question. I can't thank you enough for everything I've learned from this channel.
Hi! just wanted to le you know that you rock! I was applying for my first part time job so I watched a lot of your videos before the interview day; update: went great! I got the job!! will be starting soon. Thanks Cass.
Thank you so much for your channel. I did almost everything that you were talking about. And you know what? They offered me the position which is even better with a possibility to grow. I am so excited! Thanks for your videos!!!
Hi Cass just had a video interview with Microsoft teams. The interviewer did all the things you warned about. Bad connection, lost of dropout becaue the interviewer was using his cell phone outside in his car
I have kind of an urgent question because my and my friend's video Zoom interview is tomorrow at 2 p.m. (in California). We are interviewing together for an apartment management/maintenance position we will be doing together if we get the job - which we have been preparing for with all of your great videos - Thank you!! :) I have researched the Property Management Company and their reviews are less than stellar, to say the least, yet they ARE from more than a year ago. Still, I want to be able to address this question to them regarding their awful reviews. There were 83 reviews and they have 1.5 stars. Most of them were from frustrated or disgruntled tenants regarding issues they had that weren't addressed by the onsite property management, a lot of others were about the "rude" or "demeaning" staff at the company office, there were a few from ex-employees, and a couple from people that felt discriminated against and weren't hired because of said discrimination. What's the best way to bring up these icky reviews? Very uncomfortable, but necessary. Please help. Thanks in advance! I hope we hear back before the time...? :) Sorry such last minute question.
It's hard to answer this in a comment, but I would be very polite and acknowledge I've seen the reviews online, can you give us some insight on where those are coming from, or are changes being made based on that feedback? The issue is going to be in deciphering their answer and whether you believe what they say. They need new managers, they're going to say what they can to make you want to work there. You're going to have to decide if you believe them.
@@CassThompsonConsulting ok. Thank you. I also looked more deeply into the reviews and reviewers' other reviews. And i turned the ones that seemed probable to questions to ask about the role and how the company would respond to certain situations with the property and the tenants.
I had a video panel interview and they never turned on their cameras so I couldn't look at them in the eye when talking to them I just thought it was odd
Haha, I had the same experience at Amazon, one of the interviewers turned off the web cam for her part and I had to speak to empty screen while having my web cam on...so weird...🤔🙄🤦🏻♀️😄
Hi Cass! LOVE the videos. I have a 3rd round interview coming up in a couple weeks and it's a TEAM zoom interview and I also need to complete a case study beforehand. Any tips for a TEAM zoom interview and completing the case study? I've never been asked to complete a case study before for an interview...just want to make sure I'm prepared! Nor have I had a zoom interview with multiple people on the other side. Thank you in advance! (I also DM'd you on Instagram :))
i have an video interview tomorrow. i have a terrible camera quality, and i have no empty background anywhere in the house. the only quiet place to do it is from my bedroom, i’m really nervous ://
i had an interview last week and ive watched all of the most important videos from you but....... i forgot the one thin you always says at the end of most videos "PRACTICE YOU LINES AND STORIES OUT LOUD " hahahahah so i went there and freez , now every time i look at your face i feel like i failed both you and me
