Sorry man, please don't take this the wrong way. I think it's better to suggest a general programing concepts course for people, or GD script tutorials. Because GD script isn't python, but rather something the Godot team wrote themselves. Their syntax is different, and might end up causing more confusion. It is meant to closely resemble Python, but is not Python.

Yeah for sure. As a general language to pick up its still great

ig thats a very good point, from personal experience I learned basic python before coming into Godot, but i guess it could be more beneficial to do it that way instead.

then GO learn C# :D

Nothing wrong with C# either@@Wanfanel I was just saying it's more important to learn programming fundamentals rather then getting fixated on a particular language. Because most programming concepts are language agnostic.

I disagree, the syntax is almost the same bar from a few words being different (e.g. def -> func) I learned python first and believe it's a good skill and then learned Godot and had aboslutely no troubles whatsoever. I agree with DevWorms approach of learning python because it is also a very useful language and has more learning resources then GDscript.

For those who want to get into game dev and dont want to deal with learning a programming language first, you dont need to know every detail of it. The reason people suggest this is because coding languages have concepts which carry through to other similar languages. Like how spanish and english are more similar to each other than to japanese. If you want some good resources for learning the basics, w3 schools is awesome and carried me through my early computer science courses. Kaupenjoe is a youtuber who makes programming videos and, while they are geared towards minecraft modding (and use java as a result) he does an amazing job breaking down the concepts of programming. The important things are the overall mechanisms of programming, so java, python, gdscript and other object oriented languages are all valid paths to learning the basics. The reason i recommend his youtube lessons are because he also includes practice exercises which are VITAL to learning. Putting those concepts to work is what game dev is all about, so its very important to get a feel for it early on. I wouldnt recommend spending ages on a language, just make sure you have the basics of object orientation and things like data types figured out. They'll help you understand whats going on in godot much better.

I loved this video. Also, could you make a video on attaching a dialogue box to a static body? I found that I am struggling to make a dialogue box all together

Video kinda sucks man. Dial back the sensationalizing and focus on things that are actually helpful. As is it doesn't seem like you have much respect for your audience.
