As an Irishman I have to agree with you, I hate our kit, I've splashed on the Fiji, Portgual and Chile jerseys. I'm interested to see what Romania do, they generally go quite bold with their designs. I think the Namibian jersey looks decent from what I've seen, but there's not many good images of it.
Yeah, as another Irishman I got to agree that our jersey is the worst, I pretty much agree with the bottom 4 actually, from then on I'd have quite a different order but Tonga is a good choice for number 1.
A message for the Irish, from a kiwi. It doesn't matter what the jersey looks like as long as you hold that trophey above your head! That's the way I look at it with our all black jersey, I could care less as long as we perform well. 🙌🏼
Two winners. + Nike is the king of kit. SA and Arg collars are really special on both kits. + Little guys came to party. Tonga, Portugal, Uruguay, Chile all look incredible. Two losers. - Adidas and Canterbury don’t know how to make a collar and haven’t for two world cups now. - Some stinkers in the bunch with Wales totally shitting the bed, Italy just sorta missing the mark, and the all blacks coming out with a baby print golf shirt.
I'll say this. I really like the welsh design as its both nostalgic but with some nice touches. Also the flag of St. David's flag design is amazing to me. Great colours that fit nicely and really stand out as different within the home nations. I'd like them to adopt it as their full time alternative/away strip.
Word on the street here in Ireland is they thought the contract was to design disposable shirts for disadvantaged children as part of a World Rugby initiative.

That Tongan shirt is STUNNING. As a Welshman, it’s what I would’ve loved ours to look like. I’m still fairly happy with the wales kit tho. Ireland generally have a lovely shirt but my god, the designers fluffed up this effort. The kiwi kit look horrendous in photos but it actually looked alright when they were playing in it. Englands shirt is the most boring I’ve ever seen. I would be a bit miffed if I was English. Especially seeing as they want £125 for it! Tonga, Fiji, South Africa, Australia and France are my favourites here.
The Irish/English both look like tshirts. Irish one would be better with a darker shad but still needs some sore of collar. Fiji away look a bit to Hawain shirt for me. Agree with most of the others

Regardless of design features the ABs jersey is always a favourite " Paint it Black" & "Back in Black" - not sure why you are showing the non-playing kit that's just for fans
The England alternate shirt (not the match one) with the collar on the Umbro site is really nice. Not sure why they dispensed with that for the playing shirt. For me 1. SA 2. Argentina 3. France.
If the Ireland away kit was made of solid gold with emerald inlay depicting the Book of Kells, it still wouldn't salvage the monstrosity of the main jersey.
For committing the crime of dishing out that ugly shirt, NZ should crash out of the group stages - hope my French team destroy them in the opening game. As for France, they kept the design simplistic and definitely be getting one of them for me.
Ireland kit is a disaster. Looks like ALDI "Ireland" pajamas. Embarrassing. Weird too - Ireland always has a lovely bold green who decided on a faded, clapped out rotten mint. I like the Scotland one and Tonga is really lovely.
Non of the collared jerseys do it for me at all. Even my very very old famous grouse scotland jersey is better then all of them. You should update the list when all the jerseys are released. The Romanian one is definitely up there in your too 3
I agree with your order but feel the gaps really need emphasising. Ireland, All blacks and Japan are terrible. Everyone else is on the spectrum from fine to pretty good except Tonga and Portugal which are fire.
As an Irishman I agree, I think Us and NZ are clear bottom 2, Japan looked like they went for like a Samurai helmet theme, was a change or two away from being great, but it was a fail as well. England's one is basically fine, but would indeed have it bottom of the list of what is passable.
False, reports from Uruguay indicate that the blue shirt is still the main one. Unfortunately however they are the designated away team for all their matches and have to wear they yellow jersey for every game except for when they play New Zealand.
I like the Eng change shirt a lot design wise. But I hv never bought anything from Umbro so am hesitant to splash out on it. Personally wish Eng had stayed w Nike or turned to Adidas. The SA alt shirt looks great (not sure how I’d oook in though!😂) Otherwise yeah NZ, IRE & Fiji’s alt shirt look ‘Urgh!’
irelands looks woeful. its like the ufc kit, its seemingly designed to not be fitted and not make them look muscular. Which is so odd. Athletes need to feel like they look superior really.
To use a strong & commonly used rebuff in Ireland... "It's Brutal". Canterbury should never again be given a contract for "any" future Irish Kit & I think 90% of the Irish Rugby Supporting Fraternity would agree. I can't understand why the contract wasn't given to "O'Neill's Irish International Sports Company" an established Irish based design/manufacturer of Sportswear for a global market.!!! Argentina wins for me; classic blue & white bands and the traditional proper rugby collar. The South African effort looks like someone's had the lawnmower on it - terrible!
I think the designers just over think these jerseys and obviously the players weren´t consulted!! But the jerseys with 1st nation motifs are the best.... for me its Tonga and Fiji.... the colar on the Aussie jersey is just a bit too different.
As a South African I think the new Nike Springboks jersey is fairly ugly. It's over designed imho. I'm a big Springboks supporter but there is no way I'm buying that. Looks a bit crap to me. And the alternative jersey is possibly the ugliest Springboks jersey I've ever seen. It looks like Nike thinks the Springboks are going to the Winter Olympics 🙄🙄🙄🙄
All Blacks top is quite decieving. The fern design all over the jersey doesn't stand out as much when you actually see it in person, it's actually quite subtle. Only when the lighting is different or makes the top stand out can you actually see it as highlighted this video.
Ireland, England & New Zealand jerseys have been designed by someone before they escaped communism. A hammer & sickle is all thats missing, oh & an early 70's tune to match?

I believe the RWC for the Boks get released in a week or two. It was mentioned that it’s released in August. I imagine, it’ll be the same jersey without the “MTN” slapped in the middle and a few nods to the Boks RWC wins.
Canterbury screwed up the 2019 Ireland shirt too, this one looks like same design worse colour, way to go Canterbury..to be honest Ireland and everything to do with world cups is just a sorry mess usually. The 2003 and 2015 are the best of the bunch every other one is 🤮
Jeez, they really did a dirty on Ireland. I guess the kiwi designers were feeling sour at the time, given recent results 😅 Nike did a decent job with the classic collared jerseys on Argentina and South Africa
I absolutely resent polo collars on rugby shirts, as this is purely visual feature, that lends the opposition more purchase for emergency tackle grabs. It irritates me to no end, and I'm not buying a rugby shirt with a bloody polo collar. So for me, all the collared shirts would line up at the bottom, except the Japanese and Irish uniforms are so profoundly ugly, that they managed to beat all the collars for the bottom. Japan is the absolute worst, and this is coming from a hopeless simp for Japanese design, and pretty much anything Japanese. Fully agree, that it's hard to mess up Japanese design, but the designers of the shirt somehow managed. Ireland is the second worst this time. Not only their uniform looks like a simple t-shirt, but they also picked an ugly shade of green. Like with Japan, I find myself wondering how did the designers manag to screw up something as classical, as Ireland's jersey. Especially considering, that Ireland have had some magnificent kits through the years. At the opposite end of the spectrum, I really like simple classical monochromatic designs, so France, Samoa and Scotland will rank at the top for me. But here I find myself surprised by actually liking some of the busier shirts, like Tonga.
Thank God England have dumped the crappy graphics from the last shirt. So the home shirt is fine - but the alternate is bogging. I like the simple, classic designs best - so SA, France & Argentina are my top 3
