You definitely have the nicest , cleanest Steel Frame CR500'S. !!! Here in the States. Nobody I mean nobody has nicer Steel Frame CR500'S. Not even a museum.
Are you running stock PJ carb? I did the pwk 38 2000cr250 carb with Adam Millar MRE Reed set up and wow what a difference in mid range pull! Absolutely recommend it for track! I have same pipe set up and it’s like you said easy to ride on track stay in 3rd 4rth for big booters! Sweet bike!
I mod the stock setup with a $20 Moose reed spacer & it makes 3 more hp on peak & more low & mid with the stock reedcage than with the MRE. Kaplan had both setups on his dyno.
Interesting carb set up! If I was going to update the carb I would go with Lectron. I have Lectron on several of my bikes and it is an excellent option. I am running stock carb and running really good.
I'm up in the Peoria area, I'd sure like to link up with you and your crew for some ridin sometime, and also pick your brain on some things.. I'm on a '01 CR500 stuffed inside an '05 CRF250R A/F....
Right on! I would join you for a ride but have shoulder surgery on july 14 for a full thickness rotator cuff tear and another tear. I am out for the rest of the year. I am bummed to say the least. Definitely hit me up. If you have Instagram or Facebook message me under my name.
I think overall it is great that they have a passion in keeping the bikes alive and the want to restore them. It is a niche market and obviously they have done a great job making themselves known on social media. It is a good thing for the community in my eyes.
