I'm the opposite. I'm allergic to nature so winter is my ideal season. When everything is dead i can actually breath through my nose.

Something to also take note of is the rare Arteria Leaf all over the villages and windmills. I presume it's the blood of nobles that soak the surrounding flora that give rise to the Arteria Leaf. It explains why it is so rare outside of Leyndell, and also why you see no royalty in the capital; just pages, perfumers, soldiers, and misbegotten. It may be due to the "good harvest" as to why they are celebrating, and explains the Flora sacrifice motif as well. The Arteria Leaf is used in the Exalted Flesh which explains why the flesh is so highly regarded, since the blood of nobles is used in the recipe. It being a delicacy only reserved for heroes in the badlands would make sense, as nobility wouldn't be there. There's also a morbid aspect implied for Perfumers since the main ingredient to Uplifting and Bloodboil Aromatics is the Arteria Leaf. Uplifting being a great morale booster even with death surrounding you, and Bloodboil to assuage the fear of being wounded. The Miranda Flowers are probably an attempt at harvesting the blood of nobles to create perfumes considering they will eventually run out of them And to think people have the gall to look down on upon Godrick for his grafting...

Honey wake up, the new Quelaag video is up

While looking for stuff on Dominula one of the things that came up was a species of European wasp, Polistes Dominula. I don't know how likely this is to connect but it says the new colonies begin each spring, and that they are found around their nests in early spring. Some photo results show the wasps resting on cherry blossoms; which seem visually similar to the pink flowers seen in Dominula. Maybe the wasp is meant to relate to the flowers/spring the way the Godskin apostle and dark practices relate to the beautiful scenery, like a thorn hiding in the roses (or a bee/wasp hiding in a flower). A wasp (black) stinger could also be an analogue to the Black Knives, which are connected to the Godskins through Destined Death. Edit: Wasps are contrasted with bees for two main reasons: 1) Bees, unlike wasps, are known for making honey. There is actually such a thing as wasp honey but this hasn't changed the common understanding of them by much. 2) Bees are known for their role in pollinating, again, unlike wasps. This could be because, per the first result on google, honey bees in particular pollinate up to 80% of all flowering plants. We could go in two directions from here. First, we could theorize about the connection between the crucible and the erdtree, as the Erdtree, according to some evidence like the miranda powder, appears to grow from pollen. I'm not sure if its growth is a result of pollination or if it grows directly from the flower, but either way, I think we could say that if the Erdtree is pollen, then Dominula is opposed to this because wasps are not known for pollinating, and they oppose the rule of the gods/gold. The second thought I had relates more to the distinction of honey production between wasps and bees. Honey is visually and physically similar to sap and amber; so again, wasps could be the opposite symbol to bees. Really, whether it's honey or pollen, bees are understood as representing growth and harvest, to balance out the negative feelings around getting stung. Wasps are perceived as yielding pain and death, exclusively.

This made me realize that Leyndell and Altus are appropriately between the winter and spring regions. And if Limgrave/Weeping Peninsula are spring, and Liurnia (and Mt. Gelmir?) are summer, then you'd have a full seasonal loop, especially in a connected ringed landmass. I don't know if I would have thought of summer as Liurnia, but now that I think about it Limgrave is known for storms, which are common in spring, and Weeping Peninsula's main feature is rain, which is also common in and associated with spring. So I guess the clear weather, (more direct sunlight?) and process of elimination would make Liurnia summer.

What are your thoughts on Miquella connections to the Godskins? Currently I've found 3 but I'd admit they're all a bit cryptic. First, we have Hermit Village, right next to the Craftsman's shack. Gowry acknowledges Miquella as a true craftsman. The pulley crossbow is found there, stating its maker was a genius in golden order fundamentalism, almost a confirmation between them that this shack is Miquella's. The Hermit village has women in festive garb identical to dominula, though they are corpses. There is also the Errant Sorcerer Wilhelm set there and we know Vargram took him prisoner to the roundtable hold. Vargram holds the Godslayer's Greatsword, the signature weapon of the Gloam-eyed Queen, so we know he's connected with godskins just as the village's former inhabitants were. I think Wilhelm found out Miquella and Vargram were working with the Godskins and brought Azur and his disciples and the demi-humans up from Limgrave. Vargram took him captive though when he found out their work had been squandered there. So Hermit Village features multiple loose connections to both Miquella and Godskins. Second link: Dominula village. This one may be an oversimplification but we can see the ladies are crazy there, practically possessed. There are pink flowers all over the place, at least where they are dancing, notably not where they aren't. Miquella's Bewitching Branch features pink flowers...just saying...it could be! So Dominula features a solid connection to Godskins but a loose connection to Miquella. And last: Castle Sol. This one we know beyond any doubt that Miquella is tied to, but the godskin connection is trickier. There are albanuarics being tortured here the same as in Volcano Manor. Volcano Manor is the only other place we see this kind of treatment of them, and we know the Godskins are doing some work in Volcano Manor so why wouldn't they also be responsible for what we see in Castle Sol? IDK! I hope you get to see this and we can hear your thoughts on it sometime. Cheers!

The first thing that this reminded me off when I encountered them was the Dancing Mania where people were people entered and manic trance and danced themselves to death in Europe. Don't know if there is any link to the elden ring dancers but the way that many of them seem to completely ignore your existence makes me feel like there is.

That seems like a clear connection, then: Marika’s age is deathless and brings no fruits (that is, births), and the Godskins, adherents of the Gloam-Eyes queen, are leading the death-and-birth celebration.

This somewhat subdued but chaotic editing really meshes well with my constant engagement seeking brain. But please, no mpreg.
