Tower of silence looks like it could match Bayle's boss arena too. It also has that similar vibe as Placidusax's, but I can't tell if there is anything in those. It's just jagged and rough, but it looks similar, even has 'towers' with places for corpses as well. If there are corpses in there they would be ash or mangled, I just can't tell and don't have no-clip. lol
people go a little to crazy with that "confirmation" word. For example nothing in the text confirms that Melina is Messmer's sister, although that certainly appears to be the case, and makes sense with context clues. But much like other "lore" in this game and other Souls games, there is rarely ever actual confirmation.
Anyone got any thoughts on the fact that the God Slayer Greatsword has that double helix? Does it have anything to do with the Hornsent? Or is it pure happenstance? Im aware that it does share a lineage with the Onyx greatsword from DS3 so it could just share the fact that it has a helix design as well. Anyhow, thought id bring that up if no one else has noticed it.
I have a pet theory regarding Rauh that I've been thinking on pretty much since I first got to the ruins. Basically, I think when the Numen first arrived in the lands between they were a single society divided into three castes: one of light, one of dark, and one of balance, or twilight. At some point the light caste allied themselves with the fire giants, creating the Rauh civilization, along with the giant forges, and the beginnings of hornsent culture. Meanwhile the dark caste allied itself with the Carian family of astrologers, founding Sellia and the church of Manus Metyr, eventually becoming the Nox. As for the twilight caste, I think they remained neutral, acting as go betweens and shamans for the Nox and Rauh, both sides allowing them to remain out of either respect for their wisdom and knowledge, or fear of what they are capable of when roused. They lived like this more or less in peace, until something happened that resulted in the disappearance of the Rauh Numen, save for the two in Enir Ilim. There's way more to my theory, but that's the relevant bits for this video I think!
When I saw this in my recommended I thought it was just another video gushing about Elden rings map design (which does deserve all the gushing don’t get me wrong) but a video about the structural art about it is very fitting. There have been multiple times where I’ve just zoomed into buildings with the telescope to see what’s been carved into it.
I, too, have only ever been able to 'properly' meditate while engaged in something strenuous or kinesthetic like running. I totally relate to the way you described that The way mindfulness meditation is typically practiced in the West has been a pathological bane of mine since college. Like... Idk about anyone else, but being urged to sit absolutely still while focusing exclusively on my heartbeats is a surefire way to convince me I'm covered in bees or something lol
Why Gates of Divinity can't be the Cruicible though i thought consensus was that it was after the trailer. Its in a way where all life is blended together. And Marika ushers in her age in Gates of Divinity, by creating the Erdtree from it. Not literally by planting it on top of cruicible but with its powers, maybe by communing with Greater Will and requesting a meteor drop that will be her big golden tree. After all there is no direct evidence cruicible was the tree that Erdtree sprang on top of. Sure Cruicible knights have trees on their helms but they can mean anything, theres no textual description that directly relates them(the trees) to cruicible, maybe they were added after Godfret married Marika. Hell the Cruicible knight we found in Raudh doesn't have trees on his helm becuase he likely traveled there before Marika ascended or Godfrey was married to Marika.
I know this is late, but "unalloyed gold" was originally "electrum" and miquella being represented by the alloy of silver and gold does a lot to explain his connections to the albinaurics.
I'm not sure if the Crucible even is a place, more so the force that gives and recycles life. When the one great split I think life could also split and evolve and that force, evolution (DNA spiral) is what the Crucible is. Perhaps abled to be called upon and harnessed in certain areas but the force is all around where ever there is life.
Not sure if you'll see this but I thought I remembered you mentioning potentially going through stellar blade- would love to see your thoughts on the world. Much love
I just about beat sekiro for the first time over the last couple weeks, closing out on the last boss and several mini bosses and I love this game. It's been a great experience.
There are statues of the Crucible on the way to Lyndell once you reach the Altus Plateau through the Dectus Grand Lift. Its just some dude helping guide the development of a sapling that would become the Erdtree. The statue itself looks like Siluria's Tree, which of course was said to look like the Crucible in the first place. I'm like 90% sure the Scadutree Chalice was the Crucible pre-Marika. It collected the primodial life-sap of the Helix Tree having originally been placed in-between the two trunks. If you look at it from a top-down perspective you get the pattern on the Crucible Knight armor, which again was said to be inspired by the Crucible.
The whole point of the Erdtree was to "purify" the primordial energies of the Crucible and harness its life giving properties without any trace of its "evolutionary gifts;" the "kindness of gold, without order." Marika basically hacked the system; its why red bears (created by the Crucible) are scary but the rune bears are on a whole different level.

It was pbbly her coup that drove away the Greater Will in the firstplace.
