I am on my second Bestop Trektop NX, I am not happy with it at all. In fact I am getting rid of it for a Gr8Tops Safari top. This top utilizes the zippers on the back window as part of the tensioning of the top, makes for a lot of stress on the stitching of the zippers to the window..... The windows tend to become brittle after about a year or so and will crack in cold weather. They cost approx. $200 each to replace. Just my 2 cents......
Appreciate the info as I'm in CA in mild climate area and park in a garage so I probably won't experience those issues but thanks for letting others know what you ran into.
Yeah I'm not a huge fan of this top. Mine came with one and my old jeep had a framed soft top that I could easily take the back window out. This frameless top takes 30m to put the back window back in. Not worth it.
No lie i am gonna try what you said about the rear window. i have been siting my for a while now but i have about 3-4 inches on either side with 2 different rear windows. hope this works for me or its a different top im going with . love this time and got it for a steal other then the rear window issue that's been pissing me off.
OMG!! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS INFO. I just replaced my original top on my 04 LJ with one of these tops after tornado damage. I was struggling with the back window. I watched this, walked back outside and had it together in five minutes. Bless you!!

Oh man. Dude you solved my problem I had everything on up to the rear window and was like this is the wrong size WTF. I've been driving it around with the Safari top only all summer because I couldn't figure out the rear window. Bam, bring on the snow!
Looks great! Would love to see it in the different configurations at some point. Do you think you'll go sunrider/bikini or whatever often or not, with how difficult it is to remove and reattach the sides and back?
I don't think I'll ever flip the front section back, just not my thing, but I think a lot of folks will like that feature. I do think during certain months I will take the window panels off and just have the top section that covers the front and back. It looks like it would keep driver/passenger dry during a rain if full door windows were rolled up. I'm hoping the window panels will be easier to install the 2nd time around because I know what I'm doing and because they will have been on for a while but we shall see!!
8:43 - "cut this corner" Can you describe what you mean by cut? Cut what and cut where? Liking your build. I'll have to check out your channel to see if you mention who makes your long arm kit. This video is over a year old, but if still haven't done the back storage yet, but a Tuffy Secure Deck Enclosure lid. Sorry, my slang often confuses people - don't actually cut the top anywhere hahaha What I mean by cut the corner is, don't hook that corner part onto the corner of the tub until you have some zipper engagement with the rear window panel. Once both sides are just slightly connected to the rear panel, then you can work those corners into place. Worked for me! No idea how to do it other than that, felt like window was way too small. Once it's all installed I see why though, to keep everything nice and tight.
@@ryan.vision Found another vid of the same install and their trick was the have the Sunrider portion of the top folded back. It releases enough tension on the corners for an easy install and/or an easy window install. As mentioned before, I'll have a watch of your channel and check out your build components. I may shoot you a few questions after seeing what you used. Cheers 🤙
Part of the "sun rider" frame attaches to the factory roll cage near the sound bar. Not sure how that part works with custom cages. The rest of it attaches to the windshield header, door surrounds, and tub.
Agreed! That group and a few others have been a huge help to me as this is my first Wrangler and it's quite a bit different than the ZJ I had previously.
I baked mine in the sun a few hours before the install and it smoothed everything out. The only wrinkles I still have are by the door handles and I don't think there's much you can do about those.
Front is by Gatekeeper Off Road called diamond series stubby, rear is by Goliath Off Road called Trekker. Check my other videos out I think I put links to them in one of the recent videos.
