Dude! Ive been a professional drone pilot for years, I fly some of the biggest drones out there, and this tiny little thing gave me fits trying to bind it after i replaced the FC... this video got me back in the saddle! THANK YOU
Just got my Starter kit from BetaFPV and been crashing the drone left and right with my 9 years old. Been searching all night last night and couldn't find anything about the switches and different fly mode, not even on their website or the manual it came with. Thank you for covering all the different mode and what the switches does.
Buddy RC thanks! While I have you here, is it possible to tune it so it’s not so responsive? Also I feel the drone tend to lean toward the left a bit, is there a way to calibrate? Sorry that I dragged you into more questions, was not planned :D
Thank you Sir! I'm not great with PCs but thanks to this video I ordered a full betafpv kit with this controller. I love I can get into fpv without losing my mind over my PC
Great video. I'm a noob in drone' world and bought this new version of cetus fav pro kit. After 2 days of flying ( ~8 batteries) radio did not wat to connect with the dron ( rx loss) drone service told me to send them back the kit to diagnose and repair - it took about 5 days total - and the problem came back after one flight session. Luckly, I've found your video and managed to BIND the rc and the drone. it took me 1 minute. THANK YOU!!!
I was having trouble binding a quad on the BetaFPV Lite Radio and your video helped me. Thanks for doing that summary the second time. I know some may say those watching can just rewind, but somehow the way you said it made it super clear. Just wanted to leave you a comment that your video helped me. Keep up the good work.
Haven’t received my kit yet, but I believe this video will be helpful in the near future. More videos please, especially about using the controller with a simulation 😊
Fantastic video buddy. Just bought this kit and couldn't get it to do a thing. Came unbound and I drained both batteries trying to figure it out. Until I found your video. Just waiting for them to recharge to try your setup. I've already changed the transmitter to D8 as per your instructions. The provided instructions are rubbish. I thought I'd been sent a duff drone and would have to send it back to China or where ever BETAFPV are based. Big big thanks again for a great video.
Same from me, but worse: There was a loose joint inside my Literadio 2 right out of the box. I did everything as you instructed, but the transmitter wouldn't go into binding mode. Tracked down the problem joint and fixed it - now everything works, but I wouldn't have even started looking for it if I hadn't found your video. Thanks man!
Thanks for the video! It is very helpful. I've ordered Advanced Kit 2 a week ago and looks like Betafpv have improved the instruction. Now it contains proper information regarding binding the quad (process is slightly different from the shown because flight controller has changed) but there is no single word how to change protocol on the literadio (and the remote controller is not in the DP8 by default). BTW, here is the updated binding instruction: - power on the quad - press the bind button on the quad - power on literadio - press the bind button on the back of the literadio - wait the signal from the quad Sorry for my english :)
THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO I WAS ABLE TO FLY THE BETAFPV FPV DRONE THE SAME AS THE ONE YOU POSTED, THANKS AGAIN, SORRY THE ENGLISH IS UNFORTUNATELY TRANSLATED I SPEAK ONLY ITALIAN, HOWEVER THANKS AGAIN.
hey, thanks, mine was bound out of the box. But have a couple of questions. -And please note that the meteor 75 lite I got is a bit different than the one you show. I don't have any buttons, but I do have a micro USB socket on the FC board. Hoping I can get into betaflight with this, but have found zero info. Ah ha, Just figured out I have the F4 1S AIO board not the Lite 1S which is discontinued, but not exactly -mine is a brownish board and slightly different layout than the F4 board shown on the betafpv site. -hmmm . 1. first -the goggles and your glasses -Mine fit inside without the side pieces but need higher magnification to read data -what do you do? 2. flight - Small, I mean small touches to the throttle (in Level-s mode) change it from on the ground running to smacking off the ceiling. Can lowering rates fix this? 3. I see no access to OSD to change Tx power, rates etc. hoping the micro plug will solve this. Flicking SC killed the video, -rebooting goggles and channel search brought it to a different channel and displayed -LAYOUT- menu. None of the Tx controls work to change anything.
After lots of troubleshooting, I realized I'm in the exact same situation you are. We have a different board than he is showing in this video. It seems like our board does not support 200 mW vtx? Also, beta flight doesn't seem to recognize this board, so I think maybe it's running silverware?
It's funny that even though we have a micro USB plug, I can't seem to get it to connect to beta flight. Their website seems to suggest this FC board comes flashed with betaflight, but I can't get it to recognize. And I have other drones that I connect to the same computer with the same port, so I know my setup is working. Have you had any success at all connecting into your PC? I did find that our OSD menu has an advanced screen with more options available. Still no 200 MW vtx, but at least it's something.
@@wmcewa01 I'm waiting to hear from Beta. Lots of holidays in the way. I'd have to start from the ground up (literally) with betaflight. I guess i need to do that anyway. I just want to fly this f*cker.
I ordered this kit aug 30 from beta's site, with 7-10 days shipping. Go it it 3 weeks later, and it's been dead since. I have 4 emails into support@betafpv. I realize there was a lot of holidays in between but this is not looking good.
@@salvor1 do you have a ticket open at betafpv.freshdesk.com? I have my ticket open there, and I've gotten at least one update (although that one update was useless).
Have you had any instability with the video channels? I keep losing video during operation despite drone, goggles and controller being within arms reach, and when I turn it all back after having everything working the video channel seems to have been lost. Also, for me, the labels for the channels are different between the goggles and the drone, and setting the frequencies the same (e.g. 5820 M) on both doesn't work, so something is out of sync. Did you see anything like that?
The VTX on these have been overheating, causing the drop no matter how close or far you are to the drone. People have been getting the F4 1S AIO Flight controller to replace it.
If you’ve got the newer FC that only has one bind button, you don’t need to press it to enter bind mode. Just wait for the yellow/amber flashing lights on the fc then press bind on the controller. The fc bind button changes the receiver mode - check it’s D8 in the OSD
UPDATE after a month with Advanced Kit 2: I burned Mosfet transistors at one motor while trying acro at home... I don't really know why it burned - drone just hit the wall and fell down without getting anything into props. Most probably due to broken frame (it was like cut at one duct), it was looking fine and props where free to move but probably when I "touched" the wall frame touched the props and it was enough to burn mosfets. In the end I just bought new FC with BetaFlight and USB port. I re-soldered VTX and changed frame. I must say that it's AMAZING how many things you can configure in BetaFlight. I can switch my quad from super fast to super slow just by switching profiles on the radio! Now I'm waiting for Tango 2 with multiprotocol module as my RadioLite2 started to produce "shaky" stick positions. Looks like green potentiometers are shitty - I bended them a bit, it helped for a while but problem returned :/ Now it's really bad at throttle axis and whole thing become unflyable :(
yeh it would be nice if my drone didn't just blink brown everytime i tried to bind it. No help from anyone just going to have to send it back to cetus. :/ REALLY good indroduction to the hobby. REALLY makes me want to keep up with it.
@Buddy RC it's really cool that you have a contact at beta FPV because they've definitely updated this kit to a new board. The OSD is different, there is a USB plug on the board, but it doesn't seem to connect to beta flight. This is the closest board they have on their website. It's very close, but most notably the color is different. betafpv.com/products/f4-1s-aio-brushless-flight-controller
So, what do you think we can do about this? I believe i have opened a 'ticket' with Beta but have not gotten a response in a week. I think we're on our own. This may get hashed out in time with them but good grief. There are more and more folks that this has happened to. Have you gotten anywhere? I'll start a new thread and see if we can get a bunch of names together.
I have just recieved my kit a few days ago. I have enjoyed it for a solid 20 minutes... then something has happend and I have no or extremely weak video signal. So I am unable to fly the drone as I see nothing the moment the drone is further than a meter away. It is really really frustrating. I have no Idea what might be the problem.
I just got mine 1 h ago and I'm flying on LEVEL mode at home. It's a bit too fast for me. I've tried to lower the rates from 800 to 60 but drone is still super fast ;) Maybe rates affects only ACRO mode but I'm scared to turn it on at home :P I'm not sure what else can be adjusted. Please let me know if you will find some solution.

The first suggestion is to always verify the channel on the goggle and quad match. It can be one channel off and look like it's good until you start flying and you'll lose video after a few feet.
VTX overheating, I have made sure that everything is binded correctly and will fly in directly in front of me for about 10 seconds and it loses image. When in the cold weather it works fine.
great video, helped me understand more, but i tried to change to D8 mode just like in the video following exact steps and it won't do anything, it just turns on (directly to blue after green), no flashing in between or anything. the only flashing i get is the normal "binding" flash. anyone has the same issue?
Hey man, yes. I had the same issue. I opened the controller up to see if everything was connected properly, and found a loose joint on one of the boards. I touched that up and suddenly it all worked perfectly. I still can't fly for sh!t, but at least everything else is fine now.
@@theangryginger7582 TBH, I can't remember off-hand. But when I opened the transmitter, there was a loose wire and just one solder joint that it clearly should've been connected to. My advice: Just open it carefully and take a look. Definitely worth it...
@@waldovanderwaal I did and I didn't see anything. However when I pressed the bind button directly on the circuit board it started working again. Weird
Thank you for posting this video. After 2 hours of trying to bind it to the controller I came across your video. Best instructions for newbies. All other videos I came across don't explain the binding process in detail.
I'm having trouble binding this. Some videos are just plugging a battery in and turning on the controller and pressing bind. I've tried that with no luck and I have tried your way. When I try your way I never get the 3 flashes on the controller. Frustrated and ready to return it. Any help? Suggestions? Thanks
It's a painful process for sure. Only compounded by the fact some come direct from the factory not bound. Ensure the throttle stick is all the way down when you go through the process of ensuring you're in D8 mode. If you aren't in D8 mode the quad won't bind. If you follow this video exactly and it doesn't work shoot betafpv a support ticket to see if they can help. The steps in this video have been what has helped many. If a replacement or return is needed at the bottom of the buddyrc.com you'll see 'warranty and returns' just follow that and it's pretty straight forward.
Hi, great video! Got my kit through last week. I can’t seem to connect the video to the goggles though... it will connect after searching but then drop out a minute or two later even if left right next to each other. I’ve tried going in and setting the channel as B1 then setting the goggles to B1 but then it doesn’t receive any video at all. I’ve also bumped it up to 200mw but still no change. Any advice would be great!
@@BuddyRC Thanks for your help. I gave a Like and a Subscribe. Question for ya, when I set the channel for the goggles it shows static even tho I already set a specific channel. Only way I can get video is hitting the search button. Soon as I take off I barely get 10 ft sometimes before I lose video.
@@DOHCtorMiguel That tells me the channel on the quadcopter is not matching the channel on the goggles. I use search to get close enough to see the video. THEN go into the OSD on the quadcopter and manually set the channel to what I want. Then manually change the channel on the goggles to what I changed it to on the quad.
@@BuddyRC thanks for the response. I did set the channel on the OSD and when I set the channel on the goggles it's static SOMETIMES. For example I set it to B5 I flew it for a few then crashed, I flip up my goggles to retrieve it and I look back into the goggles it's static. I'll have to cycle thru and sometimes I'll find it on B1 or B4. I made sure I hit SET, BACK, and SAVE on the OSD. It's like it's not saving or something.Im wondering if upgrading the antennas would help
This video really needs to be bundled with the kit haha no idea how I would have figured that all out on my own based on the instructions that come with it. Thanks for the straightforward instructions!
Hi. Thaks. I have some problem to reconnect the quad meteor75 to remote controler. I push the button on my quad, green light starts to blink, push bind button on rc but nothing happens :( Any ideas?
The bind button on mine is in a different place, on the left of the controller board, at the level where the top left arm is attached to the frame. And pressing it as I plug it doesn’t get the green LED flashing.... the only advice so far from my seller was to try following the steps in this video so completely stuck....
I can’t get mine in acro mode. I have tried all switches. It will at times say it is in acro mode when I have the switch in safe but once I throw it out of safe it will go into one of the other modes.
Just got this kit and its great. Been flying for about 20 minutes now and it is beginning to drift when i am not turning it. Is there a way for me to recalibrate it to make it not drift away?
Flight controller is broken, they discontinued production. They offer to buy a new model of controller. But, I don't understand wich i should choose frsky d16 fcc or frsky d16 lbt???
Hi! I am having troubles while binding my Cetus lite brushed. I did everything you said and it keeps flashing in green. I updated both drone and LiteRadio 2 SE firmware but the problem continues. Any idea on how to get the drone recognize the controller?
I was asking about blue screen a few weeks ago. It happened again but this time I had sd card in and blue screen is just DVR loading. On that subject, how about tutorial on how to use. I can see I have recordings but wanted to know if I wanted to erase. Couldn't figure out how to play
TJ please help me i really need help ! i got sent the transmitter with the throttle on the right. i just cant adapt and have no idea how to change it to mode 2! can you please make a video of this as there are no tutorials showing how to swap the throttlles over.
A kid broke the radio so we replaced it and are trying to bind the new controller to the old drone. I follow your steps but when I click the bind button on the bottom of the controller the drone doesn't blink. I think I am in D8 mode but it's hard to tell. If you count the red flashes before you hear the sound when you turn the controller on or after you hear the sound. As I power the controller on it flashed three times, but after it flashes 3x and then you hear the sound, the flashes are super hard to count. So I can't tell which flashes I count, before or after the beep. Can BETAfpv please put up some training videos on their channel?
Thank you for the video dude! It´s very good! Anyways I buy this kit advanced 2 and the bottom of my drone is diferent, only have a button and another plate that I don´t know what it is... The OSD drone is different too. I only have CONFIG LAYOUT SAVE and EXIT. In CONFIG only have RX on/off, LED on/off and AUDIO on/off.... I don´t understand nothing and I only could fly my drone twice because the OSD say me that the voltage is 9V, suddenly dissapear de ODS info or other strange things... I only want reset the configuration but I dont know why hahahaha a complety dissaster...
@@BuddyRC Thanks for your reply! I can give you some info about this now. At the end was a fault FC in my meteor 75 lite that didn´t allow me change the options... They send me a new FC but now the problem is the transmitter. The gimbals don't work as they should and looking for on RU-vid is a very common problem that happens after 2 weeks of use normally... I don't know if I was unlucky or it's a bad kit. Regards and thank you
Hi bud. I bought the advanced kit. I CAN'T record at all. I changed my mini SD card and nothing. I hear like static and black screen. Any idea plz i can use the help. Thx
hi, what is D16 in Betalite radio 2, is it the one red blink or the 2 red blink? I am trying to bind it a Beta95X whoop V2 Frsky FCC...Thanks in advance
Hey this might sound odd but my switches don't seem to work right at all...I bound it to my tiny hawk freestyle 2....the sb switch seems to be all the way up I put my throttle all the way down then one switch down it beeps then one more down the props go. No clue what the rest do
Thanks for the video. Do you have any idea how to adjust RSSI not to use Aux4 (SD switch)? Our BetaFPV lite radio 2 has Aux4 as a switch and I'd like to assign it to something in betaflight, but Aux4 (SD switch) is being occupied by RSSI for one particular quad using an XM+ receiver. I have no issues with other quads. Just this one GEPRC Skip 3 HD where it wants to use Aux4 as RSSI instead of letting me assign it to my desired function.
this might sound like a dumb question, for anyone who can answer id appreciate it. i have a spektrum DXe that came with my aeroscout. can i bind that with the cetus? do they speak the same language? i have goggles too that i know will work with the drone but i never messed with the transmitter.
@@BuddyRC Hey so I figured out how to get the new flight controller into binding mode, but slight problem. The drone comes in d16 mode, and the controller is in d8 from the last drone. How do I flip it back to d16? I tried holding down the bind button the same way and nothing would happen. It would just keep blinking three times. I have tried to go into betaflight to put the flight controller itself into d8 mode, as it says it can on the website, but I can't figure out how to make it work. Any tips?
Update: I figured out why it wasn't working! A red wire had crossed over to where the bind button would press down, so nothing was happening. I tried multiple ways to figure out the binding method, as the website doesn't mention anything, and I think i managed to do it. Ironically, the flight controller somehow ended up going back into d8 mode, so the controller thing ended up being a waste of time. Anyways, I managed to get it paired I think, the light blue light flashes and it beeps when the controller is connected. I can;t get it to react though, it says its in turtle mode, and the screen keeps fizzing out. It's very weird. Any advice would be great!
@@remiiqbal9790 Mine is also having this issue. It connected right out of the box for the first two flights but after a mild collision with the wall the motors turned off on their own and now it will not connect. Hoping it's a software issue as the crash was very mild.
Hi man just got this drone for Christmas. It worked well for a week and a half but now the vtx is lagging. The goggles loose the image every 30 seconds. And the range is shity compared to what it did before. I don’t know if it’s the antennas on the goggles or the antenna on the drone. I don’t know what to do please help me.🙏🙏
Dale Hendrix honestly I don't think that would happen. I would reach out to betafpv through their support system and see if they have heard of this happening before. Personally I haven't seen or heard of any issues like that before. Did it just start happening? Still able to fly but just only acro mode?
When you said flip ALL switches got me thinking. Tried again and at first only arm switch worked but after several various switch flips it started working...or maybe I was just high, anyway keep the tutorials coming for fools like me
Dale Hendrix hahaha that's the thing with this setup is acro switch overrides everything. So it's funky but once you realize it's the switch combinations that change flight modes I just flip them til it shows me what I want 😂
Jesus christ...thank you. Thank you. Thanks you. Its amazing how you purchase this but there isnt any basic set up instructions I do have a question if you dont mind. I got everything set up as per ur video however the drone doesnt take off. 😢 Is there anything else needed to be done to get airborne? Any suggestions would be appreciated
Hey thanks for your vid- I’m a complete newbie. I ordered the betafpv advanced 2 kit and I’m trying to put this in binding mode and I’m getting solid blue light. It’s not changing colors when I hold bind with throttle down. Any tips?
This video is very helpful! My transmitter disconnected and since won't flash when trying to get it back into frsky d8. Do you know what the issue might be?
This was super helpful. I finally got it bound. However, it won’t arm and fly. The switches change the mode as expected, but the SA switch does nothing and the props don’t spin. Any advice? Any idea where to find answers?
Were you able to find a solution? If the OSD is showing the switches working my first step would be to unplug and plug in so it's level as the battery is plugged in. Verify that the drone is not in turtle mode.
Hi thank you for the video. I tried and tried with the supplied manual many times, and was close to returning the product to BetaFPV. I have succeeded in binding it and the goggles working also, so thank you for that. Although I don't seem to have the ability to yaw?!? Do you have any advice on this? It would be much appreciated. Thanks
I am trying to connect my drone to my controller and it still is not connecting. The drone continues to just flash green even though I am pressing the bind button.
Anyone have any tips on getting the goggles paired? I have my controller paired with the drone but cannot for the life of me get any video to show up on the goggles
Great video! I'm older and not really an advanced flyer. To get Stability mode, B is flipped to which position? Considering that I already have a set of Eachine goggles and I fly in Stability mode, just messing around in my yard, which quad and controller would you recommend? I want real sticks on real gimbals, not the thumb sticks and plastic gimbals. Thanks.
Hello, I need some help, somehow my set is a little different. I don’t know if it’s older or newer. But in the OSD is super limited I can’t set anything about smartaudio or rates etc. Would be super greatful if someone could help me out a little bit.
@@erickjordali7787 Yes there is a micro USB port on the bottom of the PCB. Sadly I still havent found out how to set it up poperly. Maybe by connecting to Betaflight one could change these settings. But since Im new to the Hobby I dont want to ruin something. In case you find anything it would be awesome if you let me know aswell :)
I had a crash in some mulch and didn’t disarm fast enough ( I think) and have this same issue. I suspect I burned the ESC, which I have no idea how to replace. All 4 motors are fine since I can re-route the one that won’t arm into a different port and it turns on fine. Was having a blast with this drone till that happened. I guess a new FC board is the only fix?
@@tommustang02 Yep, after a few emails with Betafpv customer service, they said to me that the FC is dead and they send me a new one (my kit is still under warranty).
Hi, I just bought it and it seems I do not have the same OSD as yours, but a very SIMPLER one, now way to change the VTX power... it's a shame... anyone has found a workaround for this??
hi buddy, i like the way you present binding of betafpv advance kit 2 and honestly i was able to bind my quad just base on your video, it really helps me a lot... do you have a video tutorial also that bind the lite radio transmitter 2 to Beta 95x whoop v2 frsky fcc, please help and thanks in advance
Hi BiddyRC, how do you bind the LiteRadio2 that comes with this kit with the Beta85X V2? I got the kit plus the additional bigger drone to use it with Insta360 GO. Thanks.
New learning opportunist here. Does it need to be binded the reason the controls have a "make no sence" effect on quad? So ALL need to be bineded when new? Thank you
Hi! I just received my kit and when I push the bind button at the same time that starting the controller, the light turns red. Is is normal, am I doing something wrong?
