Saw Beth a couple months back at the blues festival at johnsons beach in guernville, ca. Great performance! What a voice. Would love to see her live with Joe B. They're both amazing artists in their own right, but together, those 2 are in a class far above everybody else.

THANK YOU!!!! Beth is a much better singer and songwriter than Janis was. Janis did it first - Beth just does it better.

There will NEVER be another Janis Joplin. Janis was out-of-control, but that's what we loved about her. I was 12 when she died. I remember buying the Pearl album. I was heartbroken..... Beth, on the other hand, survived her addiction and could control her voice...such amazing talent!

Hey, it's a great compliment to be mentioned or compared to Janis Joplin. I loved Joplin and got to see her somewhere in Iowa, I don't remember where cause my mom drove me and 2 friends there after school one day, I was a junior in high school and had a picture of Janis on my locker door. We got to the venue very early and Joplin came to a side door, so I jumped up and hustled over to her and asked for her autograph. Had to get it on some kind of alternative newspaper but still have it in my safety deposit box. She quietly said sure but I was too shy to say anything more to her. I do remember we were about the same height (I'm 5'4) and she sang her heart out that night. I was at the same locker one morning before classes and that's when a friend walked up and broke the news that Janis had died. Beth is awesome and I plan on following her, too. But c'mon, you can't go around dissing beloved icons, just isn't right or becoming to your favorite performer.

Ya know I don't think it's a,"sounds alike" kinda comparison. It's the feeling, the gutting it out sound and some would say the same self-destructive attributes. They live it. When one stage they give everything they have and really communicate with their audience. I don't think either would mind the comparison as both are phenomenal.
