Beth's first solo flight with Sussex Flying Club 

I remember my first solo. As soon as I came off the ground I thought to myself, "oh crap, I'm gonna have to put this thing back on the ground by myself in a minute." Loved every second. Good job Beth.

Take off or landing isn't the hardest part. The hardest part for me is communication

This is so inspiring for me cause I'm a 12 year old girl and I've always wanted to be a pilot since I was 4

Your first solo is the only chance you get to experience the combination of pleasure and shear terror of flying the aircraft alone for the first time. A memory which will stay with you for the rest of your life.

And here I thought driving a car was difficult.

Every new student pilot should take note. Always a good idea to talk to yourself on a first solo flight. Holy shit sounds about right lol.

"Holy shit, I'm flying an airplane on my own." lol. Yeah, even after all these years, I still get that feeling once in awhile. I still find it amazing that we can take a big steel machine, take it up in the sky and be among the clouds. I hope I never lose that love of flying. Nor should you.
