I agree with Beto in that President Biden needs to be more vocal regarding the push back from Republicans on working together and updating immigration policies. President Biden should aggressively address this hot political issue as it is the number one factor Republicans and a growing amount of Democrats are stating current immigration policies are the reason they will not vote to re-elect him. As Beto states, let's be more aggressive and address this critical issue now - before it is too late.
Biden has increased border security more than 45 ever did. The problem is not Biden, it's Americans who prefer cult of personality over reading policy. I think Biden has made some mistakes, and one of them is this exact catering to the imagined crisis at the border. The crisis is bigotry, not people seeking asylum from the countries the U.S. government helped screw up by helping to install fascist dictators in.

the key point, employers need to pay a living wage that would help close the gap on the 9 million so-called jobs that need to be filled. again 9 million jobs is no excuse for illegally entering our nation. I believe both Democrats and Republicans have dropped the ball on this issue for years.

The border needs to have Corporate take over where they can issue a work stamp for a future employee and obtain housing through the Corporate office. If they want workers coming in they will ensure that criminals are not hired. Have mercy on the poor because it is right.

The answer...none of these people will be able to vote in the 2024 election. You have to be a U.S. Citizen to vote in federal elections. The whole naturalization process takes 18-24 months, and if you started with a green card it takes 3 to 5 years. It's a question that is irrelevant. But if you think Dems are trying to get more voters, maybe Republicans should treat undoumented immigrants a little better. They might like your party better, but always being the "Go back to where you came from" type is your problem.
During WWII we begged immigrants to come and help us. Most American men and boys were at war we needed these people to grow our food. Work in manufacturing and then when the men came home these people were treated inhumanely. Some had been here for 6 years or more, had families and US said thanks for saving us and feeding us but get the hell out..These people that had chilled that were US citizens. We are real A holes.

We need more legal pathways to come to this country but also we need to stop incentivizing people to come here too. And also I think we should bring more poor people from Africa, Asia. Like why should it be mostly Mexicans, that doesn’t seem fair to the rest of the world who want a slice of the American Dream.
If we made a pathway to citizenship then the undocumented would no longer be undocumented..so that would take away the "under the table" payment system, therefore wages would increase.

They already pay taxes...hell almost half file tax returns. They add on avg, $13 billion to Social Security every year(which they can not take advantage of) from their payroll checks, they rent(which goes to property tax), and illegal immigrants have $200 billion in spending power in this country. So, whatever they buy gets state and local tax. The reason that many file tax returns is that they want to tay in this country and they are doing everything that they can to show that they can be a good citizen for the U.S..

It is sad to me that our politicians cannot come up with an immigration plan. I got a solution, give people 6-9 month work visas. A simple solution. It could work. Most of the people I know from down south prefer to be at home. If the USA stopped interfering in their politics we would all be a lot better off.
That was the Bracero program in the 1960s that worked until some families decided not to go back to Mexico and stayed here undocumented. Now that cartels are making N. Mexico (not sure about all over Mexico) unliveable for many, and Central American countries are spitting people out, fearing for their lives, treated worse by Mexicans than USA. Those countries need to get it together. It shouldn't endlessly be Our Problem.
