Tabloid-style documentary on the great Hollywood film icon Bette Davis. The narrator is about as subtle as a brick, but I thought fans might like to see this.

Bette Davis was no joke. She seemed like the type of woman who kept it 💯 at all times. I respect people like that.

Bette Davis: "I was thought to be stuck up. I wasn't. I was just sure of myself. This is and always has been an unforgivable quality of the unsure." My favorite quotes of hers! Wise woman, strong, brilliant, resilient, courageous. All the things so many in the industry lack today. Can you imagine if Weinstein tried his antics on THIS woman? And she was a phenomenal actress! Could play any part! Hush Sweet Charlotte is one of my favorite movies of hers. None like her then or now, or ever probably.

She was a pioneer for women's lib. Independent, intelligent, not a bird brain. A leader, not a follower. Smarter than many men. Didn't lean on her husbands. Go Betty! RIP! Blessings and prayers to her family and friends.

I don't feel sorry for Betty Davis she went to be a girl scout as a child it teaches you about how to be strong and survive and she went on to acting which she said mafe her feel good why would she start smoking that kills you and when she had her daughter bd Hyman she said her mother was rough manipulative and demanding and her mom also pampered her alot I can see why she grew up to get married at 17 she wanted to get away from her mom at least she didn't turn to drugs or alcohol but tamed herself in the ministry work which is very good but I hate it when people love Bette Davis before and after her death but talk bad about her daughter bd Hyman just because she wrote books about her life as a child with her mom being the way she was with her well she did not do anything wrong but express emotion about how she felt about growing up smoking does make you turn into a monstrous maniac like in Betty Davis movies people couldn't handle her she had to always have her way and caused distress on everyone she worked with her entire life but if her daughter just writes about how she felt about her mom probably very stressful she gets confemed by people just because she is a paster so pasters can't make one mistake by writing a book about her mom but Bette Davis can do to her chain smoking bring detress on the acting set and to her spouses and children then be an icon while her poor daughter gets slammed by people all over the world over her comments about her mom she wasn't angry or hates her mom but her mom setted up a bad example for her family and in her acting her daughter should have more mercy from all people in the world it wasn't like she killed her Betty killed herself for selfish reasons of cancer thank God her daughter didn't and is doing well now but as for her mom I believe she is not resting in a better place!

Not only was she a brilliant actress, Bette also, at the height of her career, was a President of the Screen Actors Guild AND co-founder and staffer (along with John Garfield) of the Hollywood Canteen during World War II that gave servicemen and women a place to gather and dance and eat for free when they came to Hollywood, as well as going on exhausting bond tours and other duties. Compare that to the selfish lives of current so-called stars.

"The Nanny' (1965) was in no way 'a terrible movie'. Quite the contrary, it was a good psychological-horror film with a great plot twist, and Bette Davis' uncharacteristically restrained performance was excellent.

Bette Davis like Kate Hepburn were 2 women who were very strong and head strong. What they wanted something, they fault tooth and nail to get it. They were really great actresses. Their movies were really great and classic.The feud between Bette and JC was legendary, just like MW and W.C.Fields.

There was nothing "horrific" about THE NANNY -- it may be Bette's most underrated film, as anyone who actually has seen it realizes. Many consider it her last good characterization on the big screen.

Wasn't her last acting role in an Agatha Christie TV movie Murder With Mirrors with Helen Hayes and John Mills. This was after her stroke. When I saw it, I was so worried about her that I googled her and found out she had suffered a stroke long before the movie.

@RhaegarTargaryen1st
@RhaegarTargaryen1st 2 года назад
Yes she did! Bette Davis is legendary and BD, when thought about at all, is only seen as a homophobic religious zealot. Furthermore, Bette did get to have her say when she took her own biography as an opportunity to address her daughter once and for all, writing this passage: “Dear Hyman, You constantly inform people that you wrote this book to help me understand you and your way of life better. Your goal was not reached. I am now utterly confused as to who you are or what your way of life is. Your book is a glaring lack of loyalty and thanks for the very privileged life I feel you have been given. If my memory serves me right, I’ve been your keeper all these many years. I am continuing to do so, as my name has made your book about me a success.” Mic Dropped!

@Idahoguy10157 2 года назад
@@caramia4143 …. I see their obsessions with each other as poisoning themselves out of a positive life. If that was their focus then it was robbing their daughters of attention and love. Obsessions are rarely good things.
