Well said! Great video 100% that's how Carlos Gracie was able to get so good at the art. Letting his brothers tap him out during training. And also Rolls, letting Rickson work his technique. Love the channel!
Obrigado Professor. This is something I have been doing the last few years. I’m not as athletic as I used to be and so I’ve been constantly trying to improve my defence. It’s great to be validated by someone as experienced as yourself that I’m doing something useful. As well, some of the comments of how people talk poop, I can attest, though when your school is tight knit and supportive, like the one that I’m lucky enough to train at, the poop talk is almost non-existent. Again, thank you.
As a new white belt I waited for the cocky "Black belt" to intimidate me during the sparring phase, he hit me, then I retuned fire with a few years of training. I was nice, just wanted to see the same look of absolute fear on his face that he was gladly handing out.
I train Japanese ju-jitsu, judo and Brazilian jiujitsu which is my attempt at trying to be as well rounded as I can jiujitsu wise. Do you think it’s disrespectful to to train other styles at the same time or go to different coaches for a different outlook on self defence while continuing to train at one place?
Is roger Gracie lineage more sport oriented or do they come from helio and gjj? My pal and I want to know. Also in gjj is it wrestler friendly? Meaning they understand where we're coming from?
Roger is a black belt under Gracie Barra. His uncles Carlos Jr. and Rillion taught him as well as his cousin Renzo. His grandfather is Carlos Gracie Sr., Helio's older brother. I can't speak on Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, however wrestling is gaining popularity among BJJ practitioners.
@@KamaJiuJitsu I have no idea who all these people are. I'm just wondering if it's sport bjj place or if they do more mma no gi or gjj. Seeing as how he's under Gracie barra and when I went to gracie barra it was 80% sport 20% no gi. And only a little bit of self defense at the beginning. I left. Too pricey, too sportish, also kind of cult like. I'm considering 10th planet or just dropping bjj all together. It's difficult to find a place that fits what I want to buy. Thank you
When you become comfortable in bad situations, they no longer become bad situations , i learned this years ago and on purpose let people pass my guard, get me in Darce chokes, bow and arrows etc. Most people have become frustrated with my BJJ because of it
