Please watch: "Ute VS Wagon chop" • Should I Chop My Wagon... -~- This 79 Series should give the Patriot campers boys a good run for there money. What do you guys think, who done it better??
No it’s not better the Patriot campers build as it was the 1st and there not changing the original build. They Certainly gave inspiration to future 79 builds.
Canopy is built on the wrong side. Should have the fridge and shade on the passenger side, so if you pull over or break down on the road your not battling with passing cars. And couldn't stand how many times that bloke said "ummmmmm"
I think the design itself was the clients choice. But yep I agree with you, the fridge should always be on the passenger side when coming out the side like that.
Ben Dickinson Really, how often do you pull over to the side of the road and roll your awning out🤷♂️. Mines on the drivers side, it’s a non issue unless you really do want to set up on the nature strip👍
This one is better. Marks adapters portable axles. But can we talk about Jases Back in Black or the Nulon 79, both excellent machines rear coils and rear track is same as front, just for starters.
ok so this has leaf springs, cant flex patriot has coil, and cromemolly axials, and 300mil chassie extion with means it dont flex PATRIOT FOR LIFE LIFE IS A GAME WE KNOW HOW TO PLAY IT PATRIOT GAMES
That is a Monster 👍👍👍👍 tough choice which is the best set up both are good and on another note I don't have a 200 or a y62 but I do have a vdj79 so is it possible to get a vdj79 owner to tag along on those 4x4 weekends...if you can't algoods mate ✌😎
Yeah absolutely buddy. I’m all for any Toyota or any brand of car joining in. Jump on my Facebook and insta page of ya not already because that where I post the trips up.
I like this better then the patriot campers 79, I love the bulllbar, blends in well , doesnt look like buck teeth the patriot campers 79 has. And the tray is perfect.
I think portals definitely make it overall a much more capable offroad vehicle but at the same time I also feel like it's cheating. But each to their own of course. That could just be my old school stubborn father of mine's attitude coming out in me who taught me the ways of 4 wheel driving and absolutely hates new technology and just "change" in general. God bless our old fashioned father's haha.
Patriot offer Portal axle option as well as std as well as Jmacx full options track correction full GVM upgrades almost limitless options depending on budget, looking at some other options on the market like Norweld decks and canopy, Patriot not bad price wise, it’s an evolving space, there’s benefits to using a smaller company/s for more options rather than turn key if you want more customisation or unique look either way, many good options, good to see local business making great products,w in win for everyone imo, no point knocking one another, healthy competition is good, always can improve and also improve costs in long run. jmo fwiw.
Although there’s heaps wrong with the 70 series they’re still the best 4x4 out there once modded up. I think the Clearviews look good. Anything less than a 35” tyre on a 79 series just don’t look right I reckon.
Now build a portal axle 79 series quad cab 6x6 with arb parts...you will be the boss...get started before patriot campers! I'll take one in a flat dessert sand color. Thanks! Lol EDIT: built above 6x6 and put it on mattracks! Woah!
Why would you compare, why not celebrate Australian manufacturing, seems to me to be some jealousy out there in recent times from various circles, imo everyone’s stepping up, more companies that are home grown manufacture that are also world class is a good thing in the industry. Patriot do their thing others do theirs, always shop around to suit your budget and requirement and imo it’s good to be different, as for the Black truck it’s like 3 or 4 years plus design and things have moved on since then, it’s still a badass truck, Patriot are also a turnkey operation so can balance cost with volume, not one off or custom requirements. This one here looks good, looks some good work, I like how the canopy integrates with the rear sides instead of being inside a full side rail, but noting unique compared to Patriots options and they do offer many, 2 different canopy options 4k starting price is pretty good for what it offers, they still imo have the best full canopy design I have seen esp if you are carrying your spares on the back, but it’s a personal thing a build, they have a heck of allot of options on top on std for a turnkey solution it’s almost custom anyway, they work with Marks 4wd the Mega 6 is on Portals and extension, I am not defending them, there products speak for themselves, but I can think of a few off the top of my head that do some great work. Though-if you are going to be picky it’s probably a compliment to have all others compared to you in competition so they must be doing something right eh. 🤙
Honest Question : Why do station owners / workers, park rangers and police whom live and work in the outback not need any of these products on their Toyota's ? 2nd question : How did we manage years ago when the roads and conditions were worse and all we had was an esky, water bottle and swag ? 3rd question : How does buying all these accessories get us closer to nature ? 4th question : Is it possible that "Keeping up with the Jones'", "Copy and Paste" and Materialism has infected the ideology of remote area travel ?
Wow that’s a lot of questions 😂. I think parks cars don’t have all this gear because of budget issues. I think modern day travelers are covering a lot more ground and at much higher speeds the. Travelers 30-40 years ago. If it helps ppl get out and feel more confident to go that bit further off the beaten track then I think it would bring ppl back to nature. Do I think it’s all required equipment. Absolutely not. They may make travel and life a little easier while on the road but they are not NEEDED
Simon Mahon my brother had his license and registration canceled because of one speeding fine not paid after 2 months Not sure how you’ve got away with it lol
Its cheaper than Patriot campers (lower quality). Patriot campers CUSTOM build each product into the truck. Patriot also has the quality and assurance that their products will last
I’m not sure I’d say lower quality, and I think it’s unfair to say it is without seeing both products side by side and seeing how they both last long term. More money does not equal better quality. Patriot have much bigger overheads so of course they are going to cost more. I think both are just as good as each other in different ways.
@@Australian4x4Adventures I do agree but Patriot have more connections with big 4WDing companies, they also show you how everything they do is actually trying to give you the quality you pay for. For this I would have said Jase Andrew's Back in Black truck as they are very similar products. We also haven't seen the truck going through cape york or climb the Colorado mountains. I have no hate for your products but I am saying that there is a massive difference between each thing you have put onto this truck and the way you have compared it to a company higher up in the industry. Love the show and products still.
Lasted to about 37 secs and figured a few things but only 2 I'll mention. 1- With all that bulk durry bellowing out the arse end you must be promoting an absolute shithouse tune? 2- Fuel must be free? Hopefully the rest of the build is better but wouldn't know as I wasn't hanging around after the wank intro 💣
Cool story bro. I didn’t build it nor do I have any affiliation with the ppl that did. I just seen an opportunity to make a video of someone’s pride and joy and wanted to share it with ppl. I don’t care if you like it or not. It’s not my car. I have a 200 as I think the 79s are crap. Thanks for not watching but 😁😁😘
@@Australian4x4Adventures It's an awesome rig! And that Andrew if he's not the very best he's definitely in the top 3 best canopy manufacturing businesses in OZ!
I reckon the extra stance from the portal axles should help in stability but it definitely is up there with 6inches of lift and a lot of gear up high .
GVM upgrade? Its gotta be heavy with 6 x 35's and all that canopy and winches Anyway, its built for a reason and it has insane clearance Good on him, im sure he is very proud It would sure turn heads
@@Australian4x4Adventures This might be a silly question but let's say the portals give you four inches of lift. Could you just put in standard height suspension with extra flex/heavy duty arms etc etc..?
Lack of in cab room and no room for a family. After having a ute wouldn't go back even if i didn't have a family. If i need to get firewood or carry a big load i take a trailer.
@@PM2esc I have a grown up family and family car. To me a ute is something you use to carry rubbish to the dump, gardening supplies and something with 4 doors is a car with a ute capability. I would rather NOT tow a trailer.
Q. “Is it better than patriots camper?” A.That will depend on be the durability of the build and the owners individuals use in their application, otherwise they both look good and seemingly functional even if its a little extreme for the average punter.
Exactly. I love this 79 but I still wouldn’t own one. I much prefer my 200. But got long touring if you want carry heaps of stuff this thing would be better for that situation
@@Australian4x4Adventures yeah, I own a prado 150 myself with a few goodies on it...and yes it carries most of what I need, although my next biggest purchase I'm now considering is an alu cab with awning. Having said that I do like watching content for such builds, It wasn't until Patriot campers ground breaking build of their 79 series builds that now Just about ever man and his dog are frothing for similar builds, but then to what costs...I guess skys the limit. Clearly they've got more $'s than most us punters. Great viewing none the less!
🤣. That would be pretty cool. He actually just put one out last week with a 79 on portals. So he’s already done this style of build. Just so happens we released the videos at similar times. Maybe he will see this video and wanna work together. 😍😍😍. That would be a dream
@@Australian4x4Adventures it depend in what model you get you can get a tropie in a gxl and 79 in single or double and a 76 with standard but you have the option to take them out. But it would be a no brainer to leave them in it would just save you time and a lot of money
The patriot black truck isn't on portal axles so it's not really a fair comparison. Yes this is a great build but if you want to do comparisons for the viewers then talk numbers. What's the total cost on the two ? Pros and cons of the two ? Still... hats off to you mate, you're out there filming for us sitting back at home watching :)
Wasn’t so much planned as a direct comparison of which bits each used. More of just the over all design of the build when money’s no object. Comparing 2 cars that have the same bit bolted on isn’t much fun really. I’m looking for different things to make them stand out from the crowd. I think both builds are great and I can’t pick a winner between the two. Both have great things the other doesn’t. And thanks mate. I do try my best.
@@Australian4x4Adventures OK.. But i believe a custom 79 with heavy duty clutch and increased power can try towing about 6 tons.. Do you mean no 79 can tow more than the factory 3.5 tons.. Thanks for the reply
