I love Betty Boop and for everybody who complains about her discipline methods - that's how educational system worked back in 1930's! And watching modern kids maybe we should bring it back!
I really love Betty Boop and everything, but she wasn’t going about this the right way. Pudgey seemed to really be making an effort and trying but just wasn’t getting it. It’s not like he did something bad
@@pluslinfini4135 she doesn’t mistreat her dog, tho she can be a little over strict sometimes. But Pudgey is basically her child since she’s single and she just wants the best for him😊
@@CassidyAnimator Yes, she's mistreating him. When someone hits his pet it is call "mistreating", even if it's a little bit. Heck, they is even a Betty Boop episode (be human) where Betty protests over a man who's whipping her dog ! So remember kids : spanking is good, but whipping is bad I suppose? And er... "a little strict"? Look : Once in another episode Pudgey was only messing a little with the food of the picnic (like, you know, the such of things every pup can do because they young) and she hit him plus sent him back to the house. Like if he was trying to bite her ! And this fucking irresponsible girl let him go back ALL ALONE, without any collar while he's a little pup and can easily get lost! And strangely enough after that he get caught by the fourrier. Thanks Betty! Betty Boop knows her dog, she knows he's nice in himself despite its defaults. So why does she will think that the dog will spoil on purpose the chorus? Why does she thinks she needs to hit him to discipline him ? In my opinion maybe Betty Boop is not nasty, but she's very, very, very, very, very stupid then. Like in the episode when she put purposely herself in danger (the Old man in the mountain) and almost get raped.
So yeah I can like the Betty Boop's character too, because she's original and a really fun character in a way, but her personality is not terrible. I love the rest of the cartoon, otherwise
Believe or not, Betty was actually very nice for that times, she didn't yell on Pudgy or beat him for being late (many teachers of that time would do it), she gave him even 3 chances and she hit him once (normal was 10 times). Yes, that discipline methods were brutal, but watching modern children maybe we should bring it back!
