I didn't understand her joke about Bullock " as plain as she is"... I would like to know if someone is kind enough to explain a little ? A lovely lady is Betty White.
@@kunfupapa8162 It's a comical way of saying that she is *not* plain. It's like saying of someone really fascinating, engaging, and expressive, "as dull as this guy is ...". By saying that, she's saying the opposite. It's like teasing someone you like a lot. A good ribbing, as they say. A bit of a "roast", which is part of the world of comedic actors, comedians, etc.
Who's here to celebrate the life, the legend, Betty White?! 31 December 2021... Betty White left this world at the age of 99. She will always be remembered! May she Rest In Peace, and her family, and friends be comforted by the fact she lived an amazing life. Always putting others before herself. She was personally responsible for the rescue of many abused, and homeless animals. Her heart was as big as the ocean! God blessed this world with Betty, now He has called her back home with Him.
As I found out today, 12/31/21 @ around noontime, my heart broke into a million pieces. I have been watching Ms. White my ENTIRE LIFE! At 62 years of age, she has been acting longer than I have been on this planet. I have had her BIRTHDAY on my calendar on my phone for over 10 years now. I put it down when she turned 90. I thought for sure that she would easily make it to her 100th birthday because she was too HAPPY to leave this world. I was DEVASTATED by the tragic news and I broke down in tears as I fondly remembered THE FIRST LADY OF TELEVISION! Her animals are wondering where their Mama is? REST IN PEACE BETTY WHITE. YOU ARE NOW IN A PLACE WHERE YOU WILL CELEBRATE YOUR 100TH BIRTHDAY AND BECOME MRS. BETTY WHITE-LUDDEN AGAIN. YOU WILL BE MISSED BY MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE and FUR BABIES!!
I've been crying betty sure loved and touch everyone and folks felt it.even when she pauses and just looked out could some how feel and embrace her just by her presents.
"how far a girl as plain as she is can go" . Without a doubt one of the best lines in an awards speech ever. Of course it was delivered by the marvelous Betty White.
It says a lot about your life and legacy if people think you died too soon at age 99. Rest in the sweetest peace, Ms. White. You will forever be loved, missed and held in the hearts of many 🕊🌹💔
When this remarkable lady is no longer with us, they will shut this country down and declare a holiday in her honor. God Bless you Betty White. Happy 99th Birthday.
We need to do it now. While she is still here. Wait is this what they are doing here? Can't believe this is from 10 years ago. Stupid comments you got here. I miss the thumbs done feature. 😝😷
No one can live forever. RIP Betty White your missed already 🙏😢especially since there will never be anyone else like you 💔 you were the greatest example of love truth humanity in this world.
We all live in eternity, it depends which house you live in, either death or life. This determines the quality of that eternity. Ms White was extremely private although she appeared to be a easy to read person. I hope she believed in life, which is Jesus Christ. I think she did.
Sad to hear of the passing of a legend who was as wonderful and professional in her private life as well as her public life. Glad to see she's still feisty in her late eighties. Genuinely glad to get this award, keeps saying "from the bottom of my heart". Am going to miss this talented and funny person.
They didn't really talk about her work with the civil rights movement and how she was one of the first to have a black man on her show and fought hard for him!
@@annaelisavettavonnedozza9607 she had one of the first talk shows in the 50s. She often invited Arthur Duncan, a talented dancer, on her show. when the show went national, many viewers boycotted because Arthur was black. Betty refused to get rid of Arthur and the show was soon cancelled. she sacrificed her job to stay true to her principals
They honor her now cause they know. Betty was a real LA women, they were pogressive out there. A lot of black actors got more freedom in hollywood during those days. They never bring up that time in history.
I'm crying like a baby for that long standing ovation that she richly deserves. I don't think anyone in America wholly agrees on anything, except the love for Betty White. Bless her and I hope she is feeling so much joy being with her beloved Allen again, and so many friends that passed before her. She will be truly missed and never forgotten. The incomparable Betty White. ❤❤❤
She also performed on a radio show back in 1930 at age 8 as an adopted orphan. It was a radio soap opera called "Empire Builders." But yea, her first film appearance was in 1945, which would have been when she was 24-25. This woman is one of the most talented people on the planet.
I am. She is one classy lady. Humility, Gratitude, and Kindness all rolled up into one incredible human being. Happy Belated 99th Birthday Ms. Betty White. 💗🎁🎂
When I did hear Betty had just passed away, my genuine first though was "The world has just become a much sadder place". She made the world smile and laugh though every decade of her life. We were the blessed ones to be alive when she was. Betty will forever be a legend and forever in our hearts.
She was an AMAZING actress. Sad to hear she passed away this morning- Dec. 31, 2021. RIP Betty "Rose" White. You will be missed. You had an amazing career for sure.
Really an AMAZING human being. Apparently, she was an animal-lover too and did a lot for animal welfare. Love Betty White! A treasure and an icon forever...
What everyone really adores about Betty is that she never broke character. She was always funny, always naughty, always cute, and came across as a kind, loving person. Heck, she got hugged by Jane Goodall! But truly - did you ever see such a star-studded crowd? Wow! Sigourney Weaver, Penelope Cruz, Christopher Plummer, Nicole Kidman, and even Sophia Loren! Betty sure did get around! And luckily, for us, she got around to her adoring public.
Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, Christopher Plummer, Mariska Hargitay, Kate Hudson, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgewick, Carey Mulligan, George Clooney, Larry David, Tina Fey, Morgan Freeman... I feel like Betty White is the most universally beloved celebrity of all time. There is just nothing bad that anyone can or does say about her ever. And the adoration of her peers in that room that night, and in any comment section, shows it
Laughed and cried through this one. What a special lady. How lucky we are to have had her on this earth for so long. God Bless You Betty and may you Rest In Peace.
No one on planet earth can ever touch Betty White’s wit and comedy genius! She was a legend, and one of those rare gems who we hoped would last forever!
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face!!
Her soul will live forever if She is saved by accepting Jesus as her Savior, we ALL will if we believe Jesus died for our sins, asking forgiveness & repenting. Betty is a wonderful person, but that’s not good enough to get you into heaven. So I will pray for her & millions of others who are lost, not knowing the way of the Lord. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face!!

Betty White was always herself and it was always wonderful. I love that she was spicy and saucy like any good dish right up until the end! ("...maybe had some of you..." eyebrow lift....)
She is a class act. The look on the faces of those famous people in the audience says it all...they love her. And so do we the millions of plain folk who have watched her for decades.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face!!
I just want to point out that she said this was the highest point of her "professional life." To me, that says such volumes of her priorities in life. She was an amazing human being, and she is going to be missed by EVERYONE
11:12 - "...as plain as she is..." This roast of Sandra was pure genius 🤣 That brilliant comedic timing Betty always had. Betty will absolutely be incredibly missed!
As an Australian we know who Betty White is. She is America's greatest export. Not since Lucille Ball have we seen such a wonderful actor who makes us laugh. Not since "I Love Lucy" have we seen such a wonderful humorist, satirist and comedian.
She was our modern day Charlie Chaplin in a way. She appeared in so many well-known movies and TV shows that it's almost impossible to think about. She made an impact that will never be forgotten.
Who else is watching this in 2021 and thinks Betty White should be protected at all costs? She is such a wonderful and funny woman! Bless her heart! ❤️🥰
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face!!
She still looks good and unlike most of the others in the room she wouldn't melt near a fire. It just goes to show you do look better when you grow old gracefully.
and it would be the 'good present days' if all of you colossal dummies running around out there in your ludicrous moron-masks would stop for a moment and realize just how monumentally foolish and ridiculously irrational your behavior has, is and apparently will continue to be in light of the presence of a fairly mild and relatively innocuous corona "cold" virus ...yes, that one , along with its terrifying < 0.02 % (and falling) Infection Fatality Rate
And just think...she still, after this great tribute, had yet another milestone and Emmy to win for hosting SNL and yet another hilarious sitcom with another great ensemble to perform in. Truly an amazing career. The History of Television in one wonderful Lady.
This made me cry. She and Sandra Bullock were so cute together. I watched The Proposal about a week before she passed and remember thinking that I'd not seen anything about her lately. She was beautiful, funny and sassy as heck. We are all blessed to have lived in the same world with her. That world is slightly less fun. R.I.P. Betty.
