Not that the entire video wasn't incredible, but that first minute opening was just stunning. So beautiful - honored to be a part of your tremendous project!
Thank you so much Jason and Engineering Explained! Means a lot coming from you. Thank you so much for helping on the GRC segment. I appreciate all your videos and I will continue to watch and support your channel! =)
I can't really express it enough and appreciate Jan Lim with between the lines Japan how amazing this journey was for him and for us watching this video and it makes me proud to be part of the Subaru Family... can't really choose a favorite part of this video... real special Subaru community Mini Movie😉
I got my first Subaru straight out of college, a 1994 Impreza L FWD automatic, because it seemed better than the Volvo I looked at. A few months ago we bought my wife what is my 12th Subaru. Before my Subaru I thought cars got you from A to B, when they weren't breaking down. My first little Impreza led me to the folks on NASIOC, who led to attending the Motor Week 22B meet, which led to starting Autocross and meeting awesome people, which led to getting a 1998 RS... which led to Rally Cross, Road Rally, ice racing and more great people... who led me to stage rally as crew, then crew chief out of a Forester, then the entire Rally America championship series in a box truck running 2 WRXs, and finally to stage rally in my own car, with even more great people, of course. And now I'm back to working on getting a 2002 RS ready for stage rally. When I got my first Subaru and started this journey I thought it was crazy to hang out with people just because you drove the same car... I'm glad I was wrong!
Thank you for sharing your background Alex. It's great hearing everyone's stories on how they got bit by the Subie bug. I am on my second Subaru 07 sti and not only is it about the friendships and the way it brings me to a meditative space while driving, but it's also an empowering feeling how a car can make a difference in so many avenues of life.
Thanks for making the documentary! I'll be looking forward to the full version. Someone needs to get you out on a Press stage (or shake down) at a rally. Or out to an SCCA rally cross and behind the wheel!
Thanks for shining a light on an incredible community! The cars are amazing but the people behind the wheel are what make it so special. Everyone has a story to tell and you gave them a voice. Cheers, @Jan Lim, looking forward to the full feature October 2017!
So glad something this well made is going to be some people's first look into Subaru or car culture in general. I'm gonna spread this like the plague when it comes out.
Hey Jan! Not sure if you remember me but I was with you in Japan awhile ago. With your mom and tita flory I wasn't really into cars back then but now I'm one hell of a Subaru fan
I can't seem to search this on RU-vid but I had it saved... I hope that you'll consider making it shareable publicly when the time comes. Thank you so much for a great and very enjoyable documentary. I really liked everything about the 22B STI meetup and the coverage of Wicked Big Meet / SubieEvents LLC. Great video.
Morris Levy Hi. Thank you for reaching out and the kind words. At the moment we are working on getting the full feature out so we didn’t want to confuse people with two versions floating around. I hope to be able to share the full feature soon!
19:56 Not sure there is any other car brand that can bring together as diverse a demographic as Subaru. You meet another Subaru enthusiast, that's the distinguishing characteristic you see...and connect with. Anything else that would otherwise keep you from identifying with them falls to the side. There is nothing exclusionary or elitist about owning a Subaru--the way there can be with exotic, expensive, or rare car cultures. Literally anyone can own a Subaru, and anyone can be welcomed into the Subaru community.
Jo Mo I respect your feedback, thank you. To what may seem "cringeworthy" to some, may not to others. S15 is part of the community and highlights an iconic location here in the United States. The BTL preview was created intending for a Japanese audience since this was premiered in Japan. That being said, they might not know how we do things here in America. Thank you for watching, Co-Producer Jose Valdez
Jo Mo - I think you have quickly judged by the actions and have completely missed the lesson of the first section that this 'cringy stereotype' has broken its own stereotype by contributing as a whole to someone in need. Your comment is the reason why this doc is being made to educate the uneducated.
