USA cant rely on other teams "fearing them", and discount other countries' desire to win; which is exactly what they did with Canada, too many sportscasters labelled Canada "an easy win" and were already talking about the final of USA vs SWE

What bravery by Fleming to step up and take probably the most important penalty in Canadian soccer history, and keep her cool! Bravo!

For those of you Americans happy that US lost, keep in mind that today's Canadian goal scorer Jessie Fleming knelt during the US anthem when she played at UCLA. As did Teagan Micah the Australian goal keeper who the US will meet again in the bronze match. Both of these players were given an enormous opportunity to be educated (for free on scholarship) at one of the top universities in America and as "foreigners," knelt for the anthem of the flag that gave them that opportunity.

As a proud American citizen, thank you for shutting down and shutting up my disgraceful social justice warrior athletes, they put their political agendas ahead of their country in a forum that should be about sport. I am ashamed because our women soccer athletes embarrass the normal US citizen who tolerate their BS. I observe and admire the other athletes from other countries who are proud to represent their countries and are honored to be at the Olympics. I say as an American citizen to the Canadian women soccer team, thank you for taking these prima donna's down a notch and giving them some Canadian humble pie.

Fake penalty

Enjoy the silver medal Canada. You have to play 90 minutes in this game to succeed. Canada played well in the first half but barely showed up for the second. They got a lucky break with the penalty but otherwise did nothing offensively in the second half. Their defense was the difference as the Americans tried repeatedly in vain to tie but fell short. Canada's goalie Labbe was excellent. Canada's going to need another repeat performance from her and the defense to have any chance against the Swedes. Hopefully they won't get a dishonest ref for the final. Good luck Canada...you're going to need it.

Awesome job ladies. TBT the US women's National team needed to be taken down a peg. They seemed to think that because they're good at playing a kid's game, they somehow had a "platform" to lecture us on social justice. No one is denying them their opinion, but they don't get to shove it down our throats. Maybe now they will get back to focusing on winning, less on politics.
