Hey guys and welcome to todays video.. Whilst I do not personally recommend this serum, I cant let the amount of sponsored promotion go unchecked so I wanted to share one of the only sponsorship free reviews of the product online.. I would love to know what you think in the comments.. love x

Heyyyy! I appreciate you highlighting that they are not cruelty free. I don't use their products anyway, but I bought something new recently and forgot to check. Fortunately, it's cruelty free 😅. I'm really enjoying your videos on pigmentation. Have you tried Cysteamine at all? I've started trying a pre-cleanse mask from Urbanskin RX and so far so good 😊.

Thank you for caring. Did you know that in Korea, there are many who are wishing/praying for the day when animals are taken good care of, not brutalized for our benefit? We (I'm Korean too lol) don't see humans as victims, but self-pitying, self-obsessed vile exploiters lol.

As a physician and skincare enthusiast battling melasma for years, I would like to highlight that it takes at least 2m of consistent use of a product to fully observe/assess for benefit of a hyperpigmentation product, and this includes hydroquinone. Anyone expecting immediate or short term benefits will be disappointed. Furthermore, even hydroquinone itself doesn’t give “amazing” results after 2m, its better when used a bit longer than that. I would like to ask if the people who tried the product used it consistently for at least 2 months? If not, their assessment of the product is less reliable. But i do enjoy your channel and your interesting content
@MadAboutSkin

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and you are so right with hyperpigmentation you need to really give it time to work.. I think with this serum the experiences of those who shared them were over a longer period and matched the brands before and after expectations which was refreshing to be honest but I think a good 12 months of use will give the true performance.. love x

Heartbreaking already the "studies" done and treatment of poor animals including dogs (not that any is OK in 2024 when we can AI an animal to study). You've got a lot on board with you. Every time you say a brand isn't cruelty free, I check that one off and now got me looking if I'm not sure. They'll only stop when enough of us so buying and they lose revenue.

I tried this serum waaaay back in the day when it was named Mela-D (slightly different formulation I assume) . I thought it was alright but for the price it left a bit to be desired. (I paid $44, and that was the SALES price) It did help with some older dark marks but they didn't completely fade away. I find the Tranexamic acid from the minimalist and the Lactic acid 10% from The Ordinary better value for my dollar and honestly, better results. I heard of The Minimalist from one of your past videos so thanks for that! Your recommendations, I find, to be usually spot on for me. I love your channel! ✨

I got this & the cleanser free for review & cleansers pretty good. The serum however irritates my skin! Gives me big bumps on my forehead after using consecutively for 2-3 days. It shows it does contain fragrance & a red dye (I think you mentioned that it doesn't contain these, but I'm almost certain it does) & it irritates my sensitive, acne-prone skin. Going forward, I'll use it on my chest/arms..thanks for the review, although I was curious if other users had same reaction as me.

I’m using hydroquinone 8% pads right now from my dermatologist and my skin is NOT handling it well, but I see her on Friday so maybe we’ll go down in percentage or switch to a cream/ointment instead to reduce the irritation. Because I’m also on tretinoin 0.025% (which my skin seems to be okay with) and 10% azelaic acid. Because I haven’t gotten to use to pads consistently in the last 6 weeks (having to take breaks for sometimes 3-5 days for my skin barrier to recover), I haven’t seen profound results, but it has helped quickly fade newer spots of PIH-having a harder time with older/deeper PIH.

I saw great results in just a week and it was fine byt then it srartedto make my skin itch, burn, with redness and it dried out my skin and made it sensitive and i was only able to use a muxture of equal parts of honey and yogurt to was my face to bring down the inflamation and moisturize with coconut oil. It tooks 3 weeks for my skin to go back to normal. I used again last night and as soon as it hit my skin, i got that burning sensation again so now i know its from Mela B3 so i wont be using it again. Yeah not a supporter of L’Oreal and especially not La Roche Posay. As consumers we vote with our dollar and they won’t be (knowingly) getting a cent outta me 😤 The conflict in Israel was the final straw in why I stopped purchasing with many U.S. brands and transitioned 99% of my skincare routine back to k-beauty.

@MadAboutSkin

yes this is the case with them but they have been resisted to change for years and lobbied hard for delaying the EU ban on animal testing which shows where their morals lie on the issue.. love x

I try to never buy into the hype of these new, supposedly innovative products. It's great that it has niacinamide and a retonid, obviously those belong in everyone's routine, but other than that I'll just stick to those actives that have been studied for years and are proven to be effective over and over again.

It is full of fragrance, it stinks badly (the active smell like something rotten once you work it in the skin), and it gave me a skin rash. I will stick with thiamidol (nivea, eucerin), it works the same way as melasyl but it is not irritating.

Once you have learnt the science and read the journal articles i find it important to stress the difference between research and development of a product. Most of your hard earned coin is spent on marketing, R&D and packaging plus shipping. So it is important to look out for derm approved dupes that still deliver on the science but skip a lot of the marketing BS the BIG multi nationals sell
