Beyoncé who's been around since the 90s constantly changing and reinventing herself. Releasing bodies of work, defining what music means to her and making her mark. To her core ambition is what drives her, its ambition what kept her going to this day; fueling her strides with each project and as we draw near to a conclusion another desire that’s been there since day one, ruminating, cultivating its roots has finally blossomed with ease and poise - Violence. Just like anger violence isn’t always necessary however when used strategically it will get the job done more than that it can be a constant reminder and in Beyoncé’s case it made one hell of an album.
Ambition, for musicians, ambition can materialize in various ways and that ambition can lead an artist from humble beginnings to royalty. Now I don’t know how long you’ve been on this rock floating in space called earth but we’ve seen many artists create and leave a permanent mark on the world; From The Beatles to Michael Jackson, from David Bowe to Kate Bush. These artists all set out to define what music is and what it means; their sound transcends genres and generations.
Context:
Ambition: Who is Beyoncé
Why Don't You Love Me
Act of War: Texas Hold Em
This is Cowboy Carter Country
Success
Conclusion: Who Beyoncé is now: Finally Earned her Strips

I'm the same age as Madonna. There is no comparison. Madonna never had a lick of class. She was vulgar and she still is. It's time for her to slip away. She is making a laughing stock of herself. Nearly70 years old and still fingers cherself. She’s still leaving nothing to the imagination, not that we want to imagine what little she had covered. She should age gracefully before she ruins what respect we have for her. Go away, Madonna and quite screwing up your face. Get rid of the pigtails, for Christ’s sake. You are 65 yrs old. Grow up.

How many different ways can a racist say “I don’t. Like it bc she’s black.” Booo! Like, “you didn’t do what I wanted you to do, so I don’t like it!” Bey said, “Screw your expectations! I’ll do it my way! And you will love it!” 🙄 these are the people I’m surrounded by in KY, Bey has helped me find the light in that.

@ambrusin4889

Of Course. It is the Truth. Britney was just a short time relevant for her to leave a same kind of a huge musical legacy behind that is to be remembered generations after generations, (a legacy that was already heavily influenced by Michael Jackson, and Janet Jackson, she did nothing, they had not been done already, so there is that too.) She was relevant Exceptionally short time for a person of that level of fame and fortune and opportunities. I am just remembering,those times, I am 43 years old so I am the same approximately that these singers are, and I thought of how much someone like Beyonce, Aaliyah, Brandy, and Monica ( the list is actually endless) and even Whitney Houston had had to work and really sing compared to some other people. Oh I forgot that Britney had some Vegas residence, great for her but many people don´t even know about it, especially outside America no one much cares or knows, but people do know Beyonce, No doubt about it.) I live in Europe, people, younger generations, don`t even know anymore who Britney is compared to Beyonce, who is , and has been known by everyone, everywhere at least 20 years and more and still is and therefore is going to be. The wealth she has been collected by doing her work, cannot be even compared to Britney. And lip syncing in general is not, and has not been in fashion for a very long time anymore, thank God for that, you all new generations have been much passionate about real singing when listening.The importance of it is huge because of the fairness when competing in this business, it is unfair towards artists who has to sing their gigs live,I mean it is unfair to put them lip syncers to compete in the same kind of category where real singers are competing. I would never go to a show where artist only moves in the stage, and only moves their lips in there, every child can do it. I don`t think it is called singing anymore in that point, it is maybe called something, but not singing. People want something worth their money nowadays. As they should get, when paying high prices for the tickets and supporting these artist to have the possibility to become what and do what beyonce did for her fans, loads of great shows songs, performings, dancing, many records with nro 1 tracks, like perfect artist who is serving her fans and audience, and at the same time acting classy in interviews and everywhere,without causing drama in her private life that people would know about. Just classy.

I would argue Beyonce was a mix of Madonna,Tina Turner, and Michael Jackson for her first four albums. Since her titled album in 2013 she has been a mix of Tina Turner(Vocals,Dance,On stage persona) and Marvin Gaye/Prince(music production,subject matter, symbolism). Truly has evolved beyond just the on stage performer. That’s why she is so hard to compare to anyone. Most musicians are great performers but the depth isn’t there or they are great storytellers/songwriters but cannot translate that level of entertainment onto a stage. She can do both.

I’m proud of Beyoncé, she isn’t going to let anyone tell her what she can’t do especially as a blank woman. She was smart to wait until she got big enough to make a difference it wouldn’t have worked if she did this when she first came out. I wish people would learn to be more open minded especially about who can and not make certain music. Also, that music is subjective just because it’s not for you doesn’t mean it’s bad.

Beyonce's version of "Jolene" just hit # 1 on the top 100 country charts. Outdoing even the orignal classic version of Dolly's. NO other artist in history was able to soar over Dolly's Jolene- arguably the most famous country song in modern music history. Now I ask myself, where was her version getting all the support? Let me guess- fans of rap music? fans of hip hop? fans of jazz? fans of rock? or- dare I say it- ALL of the above including fans of COUNTRY?

It always frustrates me dearly when people (White racists) attempt to discredit Beyonce's intelligence and talent as a writer and creative because she does not write all of her music entirely by herself. The monumental theses presented in Lemonade, Renaissance, and Cowboy Carter can only come from an extremely learned mind, and the evident intent dripping from these albums betray months to years worth of thought and research. Beyonce makes elevated art; anyone can write eighteen songs and pluck a few cords and make something beautiful and cohesive, but it takes a great mind to put a sociology and history master's thesis into an album. All the songs are excellent on an uncritical listen, but you cannot fully appreciate them until you actually critically engage with each song's message, how they communicate with one another, what they are communicating about the world around you, and how they shape Beyonce's legacy. I feel consistently gaslit by White racists who claim that her music simple or without substance because they cannot look beyond the color of her skin to appreciate her or cannot critically think about the flaws in modern and historical society alike. She is the greatest performer of all time, and she is among the greatest vocalists of all time. But it is her ability to entertain the scholar and commoner alike that sets her beyond compare. Beyonce is underrated and not even the majority of we, her fans, can comprehend just how great she is because of just how she dazzles.

What separates an Artist from a Performer is their ability to turn pain into profit!❤
@Lina-cy2yc
@Lina-cy2yc 5 месяцев назад
A true artist turns pain into ART. A true businessman turns anything (including art) into profit. Two different things. Two incredibly important things for an artist. I think Beyonce, even thought brilliant money wise is more a performer with amazing skills rather than an artist. I admire her. She's my business role model. By she has 12 writers to write a song. That's a creative corporation.
@therealrodney8561
@therealrodney8561 5 месяцев назад
@@Lina-cy2yc If you have seen Beyoncé live and I have twice for Formation and Renaissance you cannot escape her artistry. Her ability again to take generational heartache, disenchantment, and transcendence and illustrate it in a way that appeals to the masses is art and genius. She is still cognizant of the fact artist have to eat, and she allows other writers and icons to share in this brilliance from a monetary and lineage standpoint, all by choice. Art is defined as an expression of feeling and nobody at this level does it better.

I'm glad somebody is talking about this. when she puts out an album it's a full production. It's a it's a film, a Block buster and this is why I look at people who scream that she doesn't write XYZ or she has this many contributors and stuff like that, but you have to look at her like a Director not just a musician not just a singer. I wasn't a big fan of her at the beginning of her career after Destiny's Child. It wasn't actually until the lemonade era. It became clear to me when I was listening to people that worked in music and worked in production and also people who had a good experiences with her. You have people who admitted to getting credit for just like adding a sound to a song whether it could be clapping or like just saying a word that she really liked she'll put you on that song as some as a writer or somebody to give credit to. - which is something i just found out recently.

Just wanted to point this out as many people been saying it and it is factually incorrect. Caro Mio Ben is NOT an operatic song/aria... it IS an Italian Art song..... yes there is a difference we can research that. Also she sang it in completely different style which is contemporary not at all classical which the piece is originally. It was a lovely interpretation of the piece I must say.

Beyoncé uses her albums to tell a story. It’s like watching a movie. You wouldn’t want to come in 1/4 of the way through, leave and then come back to watch the end or have people to tell you the best part and then go in just to watch that part of the movie. It’s weird, because I didn’t realize that until I watched someone react to her entire Lemonade album recently. Having said all that, let me give you an overview of the movie that is Cowboy Carter: This whole album is in response to how she was treated at CMA. American Requiem is telling them about themselves. She researched and it took over 5 years for her to develop this album. The album is full of history and reclaiming music that black people/ slaves started, but were kicked out of once it became popular. Blackbird was written by Paul McCartny to give black women/girls hope during the Civil Rights movement . He saw how they were being treated. That’s why all the singers on the song are black women. The others are four black female country singers. Let’s just point out that Country radio has an issue with playing black artists so Beyoncé told everyone about her new venture during the Super Bowl then dropped two country songs. The Bey Hive activated and most country stations played her music. But to top it off, her album is presented as it’s own radio station with country legends presenting her music. This Album was meant to be Act I. This was Beyoncé’s response to how she was treated at the CMA. The requiem funeral procession was trying to let us know that Country Music was rooted and started by blacks. If you look into the history, it started by people putting on black face for minstrel music making fun of the slaves with their banjos. Then people who are credited with starting country, came to black street artists to learn their craft. Once it became big, black people were pushed aside and they started gate keeping the genre. Same thing happened with rock & roll, jazz, blues, and many of the genres that are considered to have been started in America. Thus, Beyoncé is reclaiming all of the music that we’ve been kicked out of that we helped create. It’s why this album delves into all those genres and ends with her buckin breaking down walls and asking if we can hear her now. Then she says that we are the ones who have to clean ourselves of our father’s sins to end the funeral procession .

“YOU are the visuals, baby” 🤣🤣🤣 but no, it’s crazy how you can get a music video for almost every track on her self-titled, but almost nothing for Renaissance lmao. But a good message it’s giving is that we need to live in the music not videos. Even if that isn’t her reason, it’s a good message. but we at least need a video or a visual for the lead single like come on😂

I may be wrong - but to me it seems that it’s not ruthless ambition driving her success - but the pain of the social and gender injustice that fuel the motivation for excellence - that is then - by those who caused those injustices - labeled as ambition. Like people want to have something in common with Beyoncé so desperately that they will settle for a negative comparison. And then I’m left wondering - how did those people manage to get to the top in the first place?! Hmm. I guess that’s what happens when your God is great but people are not. Deduction.

Saying country music is a 100% Black genre like hip hop or soul is a bit of a stretch. Country music definitely was impacted and contributed to by Black culture but country music is mostly inspired by bluegrass music, which is Irish-Scots-descending music.

A fact is a fact. Country music and rock and roll was deemed are black music. Stop trying to re write history.
@shawtyred1511
@shawtyred1511 6 месяцев назад
Do your research, please. Because country music started from old slave music. Even the instruments that you tend to associate with country music. Such as the Banjo and the Fiddle all have West African roots , The storytelling and everything all came from African slaves who brought that over. And then you have the scotch Irish. Who were either slave owners themselves and some who were indentured servants a long with african slaves who picked up on the music and took a liking to it and it spread from there

@@ayo_moreno I'm not rewriting anything. You can't divorce and refute country music's heavy European influences that you don't find in any other American genre.
@BroJo676
@BroJo676 6 месяцев назад
@@shawtyred1511 That's the reason why I said Black culture contributed to country instead of ousting it from country but saying Black people completely created sounds false to me. Like, before telling people to do their research, how about reading? Plus, how come bluegrass music, which is a closer ancestor genre to country music than soul for example, sounds folk Irish/North Irish? I don't exactly remember Irish culture being part of West Africa, as an actual African (dare I say). Yes, the banjo is of African descent but violins are not (being of European descent) and violins too are used in country music.

@@shaewall9521 But this is Beyonce we're talking about, I'm not talking about the sound, so many songwriters, and they dropped the ball with the melodies, even super introspective musician like Sufjan Stevens create beautiful melodies and hooks. The album is severe lacking in that regard.
