I think the main reason for why so many people have such little faith in this game is because it's concept is far too ambitious by today's standards of game developing. Who knows people, this game could become an instant classic and bring us back to the old days where developers actually gave a shit about their work and their customers...
to me it doesnt seem like beyond good and evil. its got a nice aesthetic, but the first game was basically a zelda clone, but this reminds me of no mans sky. i want it to be good tho.
Misha what do you mean by saying zelda clone?? Because there are areas with a map that resembles doungeons to you? BGE was something never seen when it came out. Yes it was extremely ambitious for the ps2 standards, and guess what, that’s what made it one of the best games ever. All the most remembered ones were far too ambitious and believed impossible to develop: Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, Metal Gear Solid just to nane a few. I know times have changed, but should I remind you that Michel Ancel never directed a bad game? And why should he start now, working with the best team Ubisoft ever had?
Valeriano Pietrella well yes you go around an overworld and go from dungeon to dungeon in which you solve puzzles. There is some zelda in its DNA. I mean zelda clone in a good way, it's like calling some other game a metroidvania or something.
It is ambitious, I hope they're not biting off more than they can chew, and I hope Ubisoft itself doesnt give upon them. Cause damnit, I want to be a space rhino pirate stealing slave ships and crashing them into domz and snatching their pearls. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!?!
Casey Ladner recently Ubisoft started to redeem themselves. Bioware seems content to keep digging their hole deeper same with Bungie and Destiny. Activision is an absolute mess right now it stopped caring about quality a long time ago.
They just need to take as much time with it as possible. That'll ensure a great game like any other does. Look at CD project red. We won't see cyberpunk until probably 2022 which is fine by me
i cant wait for this game i may only be 13 but the first beyond good and evil is my all time hands down favorite i still play it on my game cube the wait is killing me
I like that they refer to things as "ingredients" it might just be something in the French to English translation, but I still think it's very sentimental. Like the devs are lovingly cooking something. I just hope the faceless shareholders and the soulless bigwigs of Ubisoft (in this case depicted as the evil restaurant owners :P) don't do what they do and rush the shit out of things for the sake of money... That Said, the game looks cool so far. They've done an excellent job.

I don't want to be one of those guys that says "it's ubisoft" because I'm a big fan of Ubisoft but still it's ubisoft lol but honestly Ubisoft bounced back when making Ghost Recon Wildlands, AC ORIGINS so thats good, I just hope they take their time with this because it does have potential to be GOTY
Even Witcher 3 had a lot to remove in the game during the development. Watch the old trailers. There's an article of the things that should be in the game too. I expect Ubisoft to be going the same road too. I accept it.
I would like to go to the studio and interact with their ideas!!! Can that be possible I just finished the first game, This seems kind of a different approach.
This is more then just a Ubisoft game these people seem like they really care for this game. They're putting the effort in and not just trying to shit out a game and make money off of it. Like most Ubisoft games
Timpas Tofflor you mean the same ubisoft that milked assassin's creed dry, and has had some of the worst release day technical issues in the last few years.. Yeah I am worried that ubisoft are going to butcher this. Just because I am really invested in the BGaE universe and I'm really not sure that this prequel has the same feel as the first game - innocence and darkness..
Tom Murley well they may release bugged games but that wasnt what you were complaining about dumbfuck. You were complaining about no content and nothing to do. No ubisoft games have done that because they are a big company.
Timpas Tofflor I was talking about expectations vs reality not "nothing to do".. I've just been waiting 10 or so years at this point.. Beyond good and evil is still my favourite game, world and lore.. I'm emotionally invested in the characters the world so hopefully they deliver the same emotions that they delivered first time around :)
I hope they will explain Jade origins, her parents, her family. Maybe also Dom'z origins since they were the main villains in the first game and we know very little of them in the end!
I'm just looking forward to the update about the story and characters. The space pirating stuff still looks cool and might be fun but it's not what it's not the first thing on my priority list when talking about BG&E.
Will there be split screen? because i miss split screen for games other than typical shooters, racing, and mini game modes etc. Nowadays it's always online multiplayer, why not both?
NOOOOO THE UBISOFT SIGNATURE ICONS. Please make this as unubisoft as possible. Ubisoft loves to flood the screen with UI please don't do that or give us the option to remove the icons.
Can you please add player housing to the game. While I would love nothing more than being a pirate and having a ship, my wife loves games that have player housing. She does the odd adventure here and there but spends most of her time building. Take a look at some games that have good player housing that allows them to build and customize houses and land and see if you can fit that in. Some pirates had families and I want to have mine :) SO far it looks good.. cheers
That narrative women with the glasses needs to go!But on a serious note this game looks stunning and I have a good feeling about it, apart from that woman with the glasses, she might turn the whole thing into an sjw political hell hole! She just better not, and ubi soft better make sure they keep an eye out on her. No political crap in our games just great games please.
its been a while since a game got me really curious! All games more or less look te same these days, this one got my attention... now i can just wait for it ...
Its going to be insane if they get to "that" point before star citizen. The point of true innovation and an actual breathing first person world that looks great (not cartoony like nms)
They need to add more movement to the ships n character when they’re stationary in space. It looks odd to have something just floating perfectly still in the sky. Especially the smaller objects
Looks great but smells like online only coop "game as service" type of experience. Too bad since first game was story drive, single player adventure game.
@@g.k.4710 My brother has secretly went with another group of about 10 other people to go behind the scenes and hang out with the team behind the game at their studio. And he, after seeing where the game has headed, says to trust what's going on, and is very happy with what will happen. I don't know what that means because he's not telling me anything. But it will be good.
I'm waiting for them to say There won't be any microtransactions or paywalls or paid dlc that are already in the game. I'm just keeping an eye on it. I'm not sold just yet. I'm waiting for more information.
The little I know about the first game, it seemed like it was made for children. Yet the universe seems rather dark which probaply explains why there is so much swearing. Clearly this game is for grown up audience.
When you look at Beyond 1, you can see that the game was bounded by the technical possibilities of that time. Beyond 2 will be the game Michel Ancel had in mind while developing Beyond 1.
No, a game with whole planets, seamless transitions between planet surfaces and space where you can jump in and out of your ship at any given time, all set in a living breathing universe.
