So it is official, not only has DC been recognizing the Marvel Multiverse (presumably as one of the multiverses of the greater "Metaverse") as cannon for years, but now Marvel recognizes DC. Awesome.

I see Black Winter as a merging of Oblivion and Death (or basically just another guise Oblivion takes) - since Oblivion has so many confirmed guises I'm quite happy in my belief Black Winter is part of Oblivion at minimum (which shows that Oblivion is so beyond omega it's crazy).

To this day, one of my favorite story arcs, because I felt vindicated knowing Galactus was full of it with his "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" spiel to Thor about how the Black Winter was the ultimate evil. Turns out I was right. Galactus just wanted to eat planets to become strong enough to dump on his former boss's desk.

Cates already said Black Winter isn't done. A: the black flake that fell and I believe into Thor's eye. B: Mjolnir being Heavey with Thor and then Mjolnir being a trapped cosmic Storm. C: the battle of the Storms. Mjolnir and Black Winter. D: Mjolnir chooses Thanos and Black Winter chooses Thor as his heard Cosmic cosmic Thor

The only issue I have with this story is that there is a Galactus in every iteration of the multiverse. The black winter is just after 1 Galactus? And then there is Abraxus. Don't even get me started on that isht.

Exactly. There's almost an infinite numbers of galactus's so what made the black winter come after this specific one ? It all makes no sense. Plus it was explained in immortal hulk that Galactus had fused with the sentient of the universe in order to become Galactus. It had nothing to do with the black winter.

THAT’s the only issue you have? How about the fact that Galactus was born when Galan merged the sentience of the previous universe and not given powers to be a herald to the Black Winter. How about the fact that Galactus being an integral component to cosmic balance is not possible if Galactus is nothing but some cosmic runaway herald of the black winter? Keep in mind this was ALL fully hashed out by Ewing in the Ultimates run, it’s just the same in the 8th multiverse and the 7th. The Black Winter is a terrible chatacter in a chatacter story…and Cates ruined Galactus for no reason other that you build up a garbage tier chatacter that was proven irrelevant in its first and only appearance

@@calebstephan2083 explained in immortal hulk? That was explained in super villain classics in 1983, and again and again and again for 40 years by over a dozen different writers. Ewing fleshed out that out heavily in the his Ultimates run and Waid backed in up just recently History of the Marvel Universe

Rob, I was just looking back at your hierarchy video and I had a thought. Could you make a video of like a % range or maybe a power grouping going all the way up to say Odin level. So you would maybe say 10 characters that are in the 5% range or human/enhanced human level and then another grouping. Listing characters that fall into these groups. It is like a below cosmic level hierarchy.

There is likely going to be some connection between Oblivion and the Black Winter. My guess is the Black Winter is Oblivion's herald. Only to do specific tasks. Once the task is finished, he cannot deviate from it, since he is under Oblivion's will.

@@westpointer2014 The Chaos King is an aspect as he has autonomy to try and take over the multiverse. The Black Winter seems to only do particular designations, with no autonomy hence it did not take Thor and is not an aspect of Oblivion. Likely Oblivion's creation following his will. I personally would like stories addressing the other Cosmos from the 1st Firmament onwards on their relationship with Oblivion.

maybe Oblivion is a parallel of the Great Darkness in DC as well, they just never confirm it because of real-world copyright-law but would explain things perfectly and make Oblivion in essence a "second" One-Below-All (honestly Oblivion has been the anti-God of Marvel way before (and likely well after) OBA)

Multi Infinity and eternity are the 7th/8th iterations of the cosmos (eternity is described as being the first iteration with a twin) and multi oblivion and death are both the polar opposing aspects of those two Essentially oblivion is the space between each iteration essentially nothingness, eternity/infinity is the literal representation of everything nothing and everything live in a continuous renewal cycle and death is the literal representation of ending the four of them make up a multi Cosmological compass and neither one is more powerful then the other, all posses the power to defeat one or the other but can't really exist without eachother, for nothing to exist everything must always be there same vise versa so even as everything comes to an end there is always going to be a renewal process and even then as we've seen the death of the iterations don't literally mean they are completely gone just replaced I would say the black winter is a aspect of death he's described as true death so he's likely just the doings of deaths essence

@@gabrieldpaula1139 There is only ONE Oblivion. No different or multi versions of him, like Death, Infinity and Eternity. Oblivion was there before anything/ something came to being. Oblivion will still be there after everything else ceases to be and returns to the void. Oblivion himself cannot enter reality, otherwise it will be destroyed. Death just seems to usher in Oblivion. The Black Winter resembles more than Death, as at the end even Death will die. One problem is the writers don't explore Oblivion much, as he stays away, but it would be interesting to know his relationship with the other universes, like the 1st Firmament.

I really hated it. The Black Winter was supposed to be this ridiculous overpowered entity that Galactus was afraid of. Galactus went down like chump like always, and Black Winter was defeated fairly easy. I didn't Like this story.

Rob I saw this on Facebook and immediately thought of you. Could you do an episode on the Demiurge , please?: For all those wondering He is Wiccan.... One of the twins Wanda gave birth to Wiccan is the Demiurge who's a singular multidimensional messiah that rewrites the rules and laws of magic in the Multiverse The Demiurge is also responsible for creating the Elder gods which includes Chthon(who's the source of Scarlet witch powers, Oshtur(one of the three deities Strange got his powers from the classic days), Gaea(the mother of Thor and the embodiment of "mother nature) and Set Wiccan also became the Sorcerer Supreme in the future after Strange When he controlled in the future, he destroyed the universe by shattering reality with mere words(this was only a fraction of his power)

How long until Marvel rewrites this origin story? I didn’t like this story because if i prefer the older continuity stories where Eternity calls Galactus his brother. There was a time these guys were it as far as the hierarchy of the Marvel universe. Now they’re just punching bags.

@@nwodepopulationcomingverys1288 well, im pretty sure that Kirby and Stan Lee didnt create Galactus for been whoop in almost every demi cosmic storyline...my problem is with all the times they trash Galactus for drama effect. Hyperion on Heroes Reborn, Mad Celestials on Hickman 's FF, this King Devourer arc, etc.
