OK: Self driving cars in traffic. Instead of developing all of the safety centered aspects in the subject vehicle, equip all cars with an active system that can be read by the driver-less vehicle. This would provide electronic intelligence on location, speed, intent, and the options provided by complex light controlled intersections. OK "intent" would, I think be the most difficult aspect to integrate. This digital broadcast would be small and if visualized be a full hemisphere on a flat ballpark. I refer here to BLUETOOTH, and it's limitations, while not advocating it's use. Just thinking with my fingers on the keyboard. I would be delighted if you DARPA responded to me on this. Have you explored this yourself? Have you tossed me into the fail bin?
