Beyond the Beyond: Beyond My Patience (Spoilers, but who really cares?) 

*Quick note regarding new party members starting at level 1* Apparently this isn't an issue with some of the older Dragon Quest games, so I retract that comparison. My point still stands that it was a stupid choice and that there were plenty of games that came out before Beyond the Beyond that didn't do this. So while it isn't an issue with DQ, I can still be mad that it's in this game. With that said I have no idea what game it was that I played that pulled that; I could have sworn it was DQ but I guess not?

I'm playing Xenogears right now and have several issues with it despite my love for other aspects, but... this video kinda helped me to understand Xenogears better. Because this game sounds real awful, and reminds me just how bad JRPGs can be. Xenogears' problems are nowhere near as bad in comparison.

Hey want to say this video turned out well, and yeah....as a huge fan of Camelot, I'm really not interested in this one. Now it's worth mentioning that Hiroyuki Takahashi (The lead guy at Camelot) was a producer for Dragon Quest 2 before moving on to Sega. That said this game was released in a really weird time, right between the Sega CD, and the Sega Saturn Shining games. (How they got the okay to make a PS1 game is kind of a mystery) but I feel this game was probably rushed out on some level, Thankfully I feel they got to take many of these ideas and refine them a bit in Shining the Holy Ark, and of course Golden Sun. Good video though dude, and yeah I don't think I could ever force myself to play this one XD.

Good review, I can relate to your opinion about this game. I tried again and again to like the game, to pass the first few hours...I couldn't.

This game looks like everything I hate about RPGs cranked up to 11.

Final Fantasy X might have a really bad random encounter rate but the story advances really well and most of the game is extremely linear Beyond the Beyond has enough to be a good game but holy shit it gets repetitive

That game looks like a pile of trash, at least it got the reception it deserved unlike Secret of Mana but let's be fair, Beyond looks even worse
