Yo dude this turned out really well. I love Twilight Princess, easily my favorite of the GC Zelda games. I love the dungeons, the story, the pacing, the music. It's just so good. I don't think it's my second favorite like you, as I feel like Ocarina is easier to 100% (less stuff to collect), but def agreed with a lot of what you said. Looking forward to your thoughts on Skyward Sword. :)
I found your channel and the entire time ive been going through your catalog of videos, completely disregarding the amount of subs and views, i thought you had millions and I stumbled upon someone big Id never heard of, that isnt the case, and you deserve more subscribers.
I really was looking forward for this video, to see what you think about the game, and most like the game, you delivered a good and solid opinion, good content, and until next time (Hope you can survive the beast that it is Skyward Sword)
I love this video, but you're crazy about the Arbiters Grounds. That is my favorite Dungeon in Legend of Zelda History. It's the execution grounds and the base of the Mirror of Twilight. Just the lore of the decayed Dungeon filling with sand gives me Bioshock vibes. So perfectly designed.
Twilight Princess is my fav Zelda game Back in the day I didn’t even get to the first dungeon because I only rented it from Blockbuster I didn’t return to the game until 2019 and beat it for the first time, and has become my favourite in the franchise On a separate note, 20+ million units for Botw, I’m just really happy to see the Zelda franchise doing so well
It's funny cause when I was a kid when this game dropped, it felt like it was the most beloved thing in gaming. And well deserved, it's my favorite 3d Zelda personally. Though I gotta disagree with your take on the ragtag rebellion group, they're cool as characters, help you gain access (or at least access to part of the process) to a few of the dungeons, drop lore about themselves and various aspects of the world and even come through to help in the final dungeon in hyrule castle as a group. Plus good ol Russel is the leader. There are other cool memorable NPCs like the trio of salesmen siblings (Coro, Iza and Hena), of course the Ordon kids, Ilia, Agatha, etc.
I share your obvious love for this game so I cannot believe you don't own the Wii U port. It is amazing and actually increased my appreciation for the game. Grab a copy while the price is still reasonable (or softmod your Wii U)!
You have the same problems I had with the original Twilight Princess. 1) Too Easy. 2) Too many rupees in chests. Please try the Wii u version. They make the rupee box less of a problem. And the hardmode is the difficulty it should be. Plus you can use a Gannon amiibo to raise all enemy attack power to make it even harder.
12:40 i feel TP isnt so much about the story but the characters on it, how people, the hero and other deal and cope with the literal demize of the world. You can fin a hint to it in the cqstle first time visit, the guards arent just there, they are there and *AFRAID* Compared to Ocarina, i think TP takes more into Mayora Tarrytory, the story is the character, the ent are th frame.
I've decided to revisit this game in the last week's because of quarantine and stuff and I found a new love for this game. The video was amazing as well
I still love this game even though its the worst 3D Zelda game. I love the dungeon design, artstyle and items, but to me where Twilight Princess lacks is in its combat. Tbh the more I play TP the more I dislike its combat. The main reason is because the scaling between bosses are so poorly done, when you fight the first boss its going to be just as "difficult" as the final boss and most of the bosses don't even try to attack the player, they are all just visual scope and not much else (Even the ones that do attack have slow moving attacks). And since there is no sense of progression scale in bosses it feels like you're fighting the same thing. And when it comes to combat overall it lacks too, since everything is defeated with just mindlesly mashing your sword it takes fun out of using your toolkit to deal with many situations. Why strategically use finite resources or timing when to attack when I can mash sword to get rid of them? Combined with poor enemy AI doesn't mix very well. The only other weapon that's good is the Bow and that's because the bow is very overpowered in this game, anything I said in regards to the sword applies there. Even the hidden skills are pretty superflous. Outside of ending blow and the great spin you'd only be using the other skills to use them, outside of shield bashing dark nuts, but even they have the mindlessly mashing problem. Even in other games when using sword was primary to defeat enemies you could still use other tools as means of dealing with them, so it was a matter of choice. I also find that while I do like the story it has problems in many areas, in fact a video released by Chyde addresses all the story issues I feel. And while I don't agree with everything its a pretty accurate assessment. And compared to other iterations of Link TP is one of the weaker ones because I always loved how he grew from beginning to end and his cosmetic changes and upgrades reflected that, which extended to the player. I don't get that with TP Link.
Says the game isnt edgy, then describes every tonal scene which people could subjectively describe as edgy. good video otherwise, and critique on its shortcomings.
This! I've only had the chance to read Volume 3, but man does it make the story even better. My favorite parts of that volume are the fight between Link and his ancestor and the aftermath of his battle with King Bulbin when he's with the village kids.
