The Vancouver Recital Society's Founder & Artistic Director, Leila Getz, speaks to Mishka Rushdie Momen, a sensational young pianist based in the UK. Mishka was The Times Arts critics’ chosen nominee in the field of classical music for their 2021 Breakthrough Award, and has appeared in recitals and concerto performances worldwide. Mishka and Leila discuss her education, her collaboration with cellist Steven Isserlis, and her upcoming tour of the United States with cellist Zlatomir Fung. They also chat about her studies with Sir András Schiff at the Kronberg Academy, and about the value of intermissions in classical concerts.
Mishka is scheduled to make her Canadian recital debut with the VRS on April 3, 2022.
