In this video I will show you how to get the BeyondATC UI panel in VR.
For this I use FS Desktop. A program that you can use to bring any open window on your desktop into VR.

You’re welcome. I just wish they make the default BATC panel on a tablet that can be used in VR or 2D.

@@Virtusim That would be nice. Unfortunately, for now, we'll have to muttle through with FS Desktop. At least, we do have that. Not perfect, but it's "a" solution, for the time being. :)

I really wish they implement a true integrated VR solution. Until then, I’m not interested.

What impatience and rejection of a possible solution! BATC team have done a superb job with the early release. And this video is simply an attempt by a valued member of the community to be helpful!

It’s not a rejection, I just can’t use it in VR and FSDesktop doesn’t work well with the Crystal, that’s all. I fly exclusively in VR…

@@guylarochelle9793I have now managed to setup fsdesktop with my Varjo Aero. It works perfectly. I cannot think why it would not work with the Crystal. Have you tried the latest version of fsdesktop?

I have never being able to use this FSdesktop software in VR for some reason... Not all windows show up and when i click on one of them to show in full screen, it only show a blanck screen...

Don't minimize the windows on your dekstop or they won't show up. It's all in the description github.com/Christian1984/fsdesktop/?tab=readme-ov-file#usage

@@Virtusim interesting. When I open some windows over MSFS when in VR, I can't click on anything in the cockpit, as logically MSFS isn't an active window.

As an alternative, could the BeyondATC console be run on the All-in-one tablet that you also have in your cockpit? Edit: ah, never mind, it looks like the All-in-one dev(s) would need to add BATC as a supported app. Actually, if that were to happen, the tablet interface might even make it a better option, looks-wise at least, than a native VR window from BATC themselves???

I agree, but I think a tablet with the size of an ipad mini would be sufficient. Not everyone has the AIO tablet.

nah… this product is so disappointing. it kills immersion and the workload is getting extremely high. what are the developers thinking? we are sitting usually alone in the cockpit. as pilot flying, i don’t want to have anything to do with atc

Nobody is forcing you to use atc or this product. We all use the sim as we like it. Anyhow, thanks for your comment. Happy SimFlying

@@Virtusimunfortunately I cannot get it to work. Have installed it and can bring up the window in VR but cannot interact with any window using the mouse. Any ideas?

Go to the FSD settings tab and set the following items - Input Speed: Medium - Desktop DPI Setting: 100% - Always on top: check on - Input Processor Priviliges: check on Run MSFS in windowed mode and with DX11

Could you post your settings in both FSDesktop and BATC? I can't get the full BATC UI to appear in the FSDesktop window, neither can I interact with BATC at all. I've managed but it's obviously a settings thing. Otherwise thanks, it's just doubled my enjoyment of MSFS.

in the fsdesktop settings: input speed - slowest and desktop dpi 100% Also in the sim use DX11 and run the sim in windowed mode.

Do know what I can do if toolbar is not visible in VR? I also tried to start FSdesktop via toolbar in 2D but it still does not appear in VR. Im afraid some glitch got into my installation. But maybe you know how to deal with that? tia!

Press the TAB button in VR or bind a button to show the toolbar

@@Virtusim had to set the right key combo for toolbar in voice attack. Now it works again ;). What VR goggle you use? I use MQ3. I find it a bit stuttery compared to my old pico 4 in FS2020 compared to DCS.

FSDesktop kan volledig gratis gebruikt worden voor 3 dagen. Dus ja, het werkt dan.

just a little bit, but hardly noticable. If it costs me about 2 fps less, I'm happy with a working UI panel in VR and dial down some other settings to gain the fps back.

Its a solution, its hard to remember everything said and in vr i obviously cant write it down. So this works until btac puts in its own. But i get a very noticeable hit on performance. Probably 20%+

I can confirm that the hit is no more than 1 or 2 fps on my system. I am running a Varjo Aero at highest resolution. I highly recommend autofps software to improve performance.
