One thing to note about the kaleidoscope rework is that in the background, you can see smoke and tracer fire which gives more of the tone they showed in their lore
I have 300 hours in this game I clearly know this game isn't good enough to recommend to friends at it's current state, but what I am trying to say is that they're finally showing the story this game has in it's lore, instead of trigger happy specialists who seem to not care about anything, they're adding the atmosphere this should've came with
I think that the best thing about the update that they actually took for granted in EA that the maps are too big, with 0 cover- so they added allot of stuff like sand bags and object and buildings to the maps. It’s a nice update- as Teabag said
Try changing the axial fine tuning settings. I did on PS5 a few days ago it feels much better to me even before this update. I added 4 on left and right sticks. When I played 4/1/V the controls were so much better and I was enjoying them. I never needed to change the axial settings. But on 2042 changing that setting was a game changer for me at least.
@@jerroww For me it was the Axial Deadzone. I just put that on 4 for both left and right sticks. And the game felt much better to me. But also the Ratios: I have them on 70/80 the game default is 48/80. Take a screen shot of all your settings before you change settings just in case you don’t like mine. Everyone I haven’t listed is because that is default for me. Aim assist feels alot better, like alot better. Starting to wonder if people have actually the turned the value back up after turning it down previously
on my part i definitely feel the improved aim assist. It used to be a giant noticeable lock and unlocked when aiming at a target, but now i feel it much more subtly
Hell let loose had taken me away from even being tempered to play this game, sad to see my favourite gaming franchise fall hard, but it’s opened me up to play other games, hardcore tactical shooters all the way 👌

Insurgency sandstorm on PS5 and hunt showdown on PS5 for me. I ain't touching another battlefield ever again. Btw ... A little secret... Everyone hated on me for saying this game was gonna be trash. Everyone hated me even more after the ATROCIOUS beta that had no aim assist, the WORST aiming with a controller since overwatch and hunt showdown on launch and...it looked BAAAAAD. It still looks bad, plays like shit and it's just the worst bf ever made and also the worst game of the year. A strong 3/10. And guess what? Everyone hated on me the same way when i said that cyberpunk gonna be trash. And same shit different game with cod mw 2019...and then cod vanguard. So...for now my shit radar isn't going off for the next cod. You might wanna try that one out. Maybe I'll let you know after a beta. Usually it takes me like..3 minutes tops to see if a game is gonna be bad or good. The battlefield 2042? Literally took me 2 minutes and i uninstalled after 10.

Even tho I haven’t played Battlefield 2042, I think the biggest issue is the fact that it is nothing like a normal Battlefield game. If you watching these clips without knowing what game it was, you was think it was a Call of Duty game.
While I agree it’s nothing like BF… it’s also NOTHING like CoD. Anyone who has played CoD will immediately realize how SHIT aiming and movement feels in 2042. We would be so lucky to have it feel like MW2019.

The BIGGEST issue IMO is that most people playing this game on console never played BF on console back in bf3 or bf4, those games had little to no aim assist. Most players who played all the way back to 1942 and the Bad Company games (best BF games to ever release IMO) are now on pc. This game plays well on pc but theres such a lack of servers that even with my internet which i have a server in my house with a 25G switch installed so my internet isnt the issue but i experience terrible connectivity to most if not all servers when i try to play this game. 30-100 ms ping constantly. Its terrible
I understand why y’all disagree about it being like CoD, but it just doesn’t have the same feeling and time to kill as a game like BF1 and BF5. Granted those weren’t set in the future, but I feel like the time to kill is too fast in 2042. This is just from what I’ve seen on clips.
What DICE doesn’t seem to understand is that THE ENTIRE AIMING MECHANIC is fucked for controller players on console. It feels floaty and unresponsive. I don’t even like TBAG but he’s 10000% right when he says “they should have just copied the aiming mechanics from BFV” line for line. Going back to BFV or even BF1 feels SO MUCH BETTER and it’s way easier to get kills. So they’ve nerfed us console players while at the same time making us go up against MnK PC players. This is why I can’t enjoy 2042.
I added 4 on left and right sticks for axial fine tuning settings and I can finally enjoy this frustrating game. I hope it helps controller players because it definitely helped me.
I don't know if it's only the aim assist man, pretty sure something is off with aiming in general. I play with 100% sens and 30% aim assist in BF5 and it's perfect for me. One of my first feedback was that if I copy-paste my settings to 2042 it doesn't feel the same at all. I haven't played 2042 in a long time but I assure you I never felt comfortable with my aim, I actually lost confidence because I felt I couldn't aim at all. If only they took the best things from each of their past games and put them to the next one, but no somehow they only choose their poor design ideas
You're actually right about that, your point of aim lags a few frames behind where your sights are pointed. They also intentionally give us bad aim assist because PC players are constantly whining about it, any amount of aim assist is too much for them to deal with. They didn't copy-paste BFV's aim assist precisely because it was _good_ aim assist that would actually give console players a fair chance against PC players. Whenever you try posting about some unfair advantage that PC players have over console you'll always end up with PC players chiming in "but you get aim assist," Even if what you're pointing out is actual wall-hacks and aimbots.
I've never used Aim Assist Zoom Snap in this game and have Acceleration set to 0% but I do use Aim Assist Slowdown with the value set between 60-80%, currently 80%. I messed around with many of the advanced settings trying to get good behaviour but the biggest difference to precise aim was to add an extra 100 to the Zoom Aim Sensitivity slider. It's still Hyper sluggish but it eliminated some of the drag getting the cross-hairs onto the target (In all previous Battlefields I had it set to 82 but in 2042 I have to set it to 182). There's something wrong with the zoom multiplier values and the linear curve doesn't ramp up quickly enough. It still is pretty awful compared to any other FPS shooter.

“Why can’t they copy/paste the aim assist” The reason is because they created an entirely new gun system to help fit the futuristic theme for 2042 and increase performance with features such as attachment switching. Unlike COD who has been using the same gun system for 4 years.
it seemed like some weapons had better aim assist power. like that pistol. it seemed like it was kinda sticking. while the M5 was just sliding everywhere edit: OK it may be a problem with CQC weapons
pretty sure aim assist isnt suppose to work at long ranges in any battlefield or any other game in general that has long range combat but that could be my memory being foggy but from the look and feel of it it reminds me alot more of bf4 and cod back in its golden age which i prefer more as it has a good balance between being supportive and not so over supportive like current cods to the point theres no need for counter recoil

I think I’m an above average player but even being up close to enemies and it’s just a fight with the game to make adjustments while aiming because it might overreact and move to much, it might barley move. There’s no consistency with the weapons except snipers. But I agree console players need to learn to aim better on every other game
I do not think it's just the aim assist itself that feels off, the aiming in general is really worse than any shooter i played on console, except paladins. And looks like the mouse input feels weird too so....
Aim Assist is ok now I think. What is still broken, it's controller/mouse input - when aiming, You get a small input lag and then acceleration - that's what is messing with your aim, not AA.

So what I want to know from those on controller, what is it in aim assist that you're looking for? Everyone claims "good aim assist" or "bad aim assist", but there are hardly ever any descriptions of what that means. Looking for some education on that term, please.
I use controller and i have been thinking the same thing but i don't know. Aim assist for me messes up everything and it does more harm than good imo so i just disable it completely.
IMO the aim assist has been greatly improved. I go with the SFAR so I really notice that tracking moving targets is smoother. Seems like they got rid of Input lag too. ADS while shooting at a moving target is way smoother now.
@@money4385 So what exactly does it do? Is it that when you ADS, it "attaches" your sights to the target nearest where you're aiming? I just don't even know how it works.
@@canman87 I play on pc but have lots of experience with controllers. As it is much harder to track targets with a controller opposed to a mouse, aim assist helps by sort of auto tracking the target slightly making it so that controller players don’t have to keep moving the stick to keep the target in sight
I installed to see.. immediately the same bug happens where my guns on full auto randomly stop no matter what gun, and no it’s not on burst fire… back to uninstalled.
I agree massively the aim assist feels horrible and feels like pc are at a massive advantage due to this. They have a much more precise aim due to using there whole hand to aim and console aim assist is terrible.
The feeling of the game is better idk if they changed the faces but it doesn't look like the happy game that was before, like the faces are not smiling and not saying the cringe lines.
Honestly the other problem with BF is the ridiculous bloom. You can't see where your bullets go and everything outside of 10 metres is all chance. It's the dumbest mechanic.
Honestly didnt realise until now that bf2042 is crossplay. Im console and getting destroyed all the time - presumably some of that is PC players with all their advantages.
Think you need for revert your aim assist setting to normal and try with that, I've personally noticed the difference and am enjoying playing with no zoom snap and only slow down at 100%
