BFME2 1.09 HD - War of the Ring - Good vs. Evil [#1] 

While people seem to think that is the case, I have still decided to go down to hard difficulty. If I leave it as is I will lose every single battle and this campaign will be over within a few episodes. That's a waste of time imo as is the almost hour long struggle for a single battle in a campaign of many many of them. After recording the second video on hard Ai settings I still struggled though as you will see lol.

Does it even make sense to harras economy of Brutal A.I.? I mean they get everything half price anyway.

Crushing their economy will deny them resources even if they get everything for half price , they never demolish farms when you attack them so that is all free PowerPoints for you. But the reason why going after their economy won me games against brutal is because they will sent troops to defend thus releasing preassure from my base makes it so that the new troops that will come out of the pits or barracks are fine on their own and you can concentrate on your flank attack. Their forces will spread thin over the map. in 90% of the cases if you don't play Brutal A.I. often you will be defending the first 5-20 minutes of the match so don't get demoralized , you will probably be in a constant siege that's why you can only flank else you will just send more and more into the meat grinder

What I usually did was, get 2-3 arrow towers packed with archers, one either side of the chokepoint and then one further back to handle overflow and then put a few spear units plus the healing fountain in the middle of that triangle. Do that and you can defend against anything.

To be fair, you made it hard on yourself, in failing to secure the chokepoints. I would have set up a military base ie barracks, stable and archery just behind that triangle of towers, for both crossing points and then build the farms, paired up with a tower maybe, behind in the corner of the map, where they would have been safe.

Every battle would have been that way which is too time consuming and also too difficult for me. I know my limits trust me. It isn't that bad on one difficulty lower though I think. Also it isn't so much of a quit as a quick restart :P

yeah i guess you are right and maybe you should put the elves in rivendell not so far away in the gray havens because they never will lose if they are so far away

I mean it's very similar to the Total War games imo but simplified a bit. It does have it's own uniqueness to it though.

do you play bfme2 currently ? and war of the ring option ?

@@feanorcurufinwe702 been trying to troubleshoot the DVD mounting process. But I used to play the WotR option a lot. It, imo, was the best RTS on the market. It still holds true to today. Like I mentioned before, the combination of different platforms made it addicting for strategy-aficionados.

The guy on the video pretty much has no idea what's going on on the map. Do you want to play online together ?
