I have a GSI mini expresso maker for camping and it works just like this. It makes a mess with spattering and brews one tiny cup at a time. I am getting one of these now because I love espresso. Great review. And again, thank you for all the attention to detail.

Wow!! Thanks for letting me know DG! Oh man sucks that the GSI makes a mess, I had no idea. Let me know how this Bialetti works for you! Hopefully there's no more splattering! (At least there was none in my experience haha.) Your comments mean a lot, I really appreciate them 😊

I love your series!! The tests are very thorough and it reminds me of America test kitchen. I am over sponsored youtube videos telling “the best…” I want actual data and testing - which is what you do here. If you are taking request: Could you test hiking underwear next? The ones that dries quickly and have no smell. I tried searching reviews but there are no good videos with data driven results. Thank you

@Kadin Tran Hi Kadin, thank you so much for the kind words, and I'm glad you enjoy the thorough testing. And don't worry, you won't find sponsored reviews on this channel :) I'm so sorry but I'm not actually taking requests at the moment. I have a lot of products that I'm using and testing now, and they'll probably keep me busy for the next year or 2. But thank you so much for the wonderful suggestion, I'll add it to my list :)

I've been using Moka Pots for ~3 years now and I can't go back to "lighter" brewing methods. It's either this or espresso cuz others just tastes like watered-down coffee to me.

Bialetti says to use medium-fine coffee, not medium. In Italy many pre-ground coffees are ground to medium-fine for the Bialetti, especially their most popular brands: Lavazza and illy.
@CampingGuidance
@CampingGuidance Год назад
@photina Oh okay! I just kinda estimate between medium and medium-fine cos I don't exactly have the best eye for detail. But noted on the medium-fine coffee! I've never been to Italy (sadly) but that's good to know! Maybe next time 😊

Not medium heat. Low heat over a flame, and medium-low on an electric range. But you're correct to remove it from the heat when it gurgles.

Great video! Do you happen to know if the resulted coffee was still in the range of 10-11 oz?(like the water you put in) I'm trying to figure out the difference between the water and the resulted coffee.
@CampingGuidance
@CampingGuidance Год назад
@gatamamsatura t Thank you! I'm glad you liked the video! 😊 And nope, I think you lose quite a bit of water after brewing the coffee. I think I included a shot of the resulted coffee in a transparent mug somewhere in the video, and that's all the coffee that came out of the Bialetti haha. I think the mug I used has a capacity of ~15oz? And it's filled less than halfway, so I think you can estimate losing maybe 30-40% of water after brewing. Hope this helps! 😊
@gatamamsaturat9326
@gatamamsaturat9326 Год назад
@@CampingGuidance Thank you! Your answer does help a lot. It is said in the Mokapot World that you're only getting out about 2/3 of the water you're putting in, so your answer comes and solidifies exactly that. Thank you, this helped me find the right size of my first bought Mokapot. There has been a big version in my family(12 cups), but it's been through an unpleasant dishwashing experience and is now unfortunately unusable. But I digress. Keep up the good work and thank you again!

@CampingGuidance Год назад
@gatamamsatura t You're most welcome! I'm glad that I could help you out 😊 So sorry to hear about your family moka pot though. I don't have a dishwasher at home, but I thought moka pots can't be washed in a dishwasher haha. I'm not sure though as I've never tried it out. I hope you enjoy your new moka pot! And I'll be here to help answer more questions if you have any 😊

If im just using for myself should I get a 6 cup or 3?
@CampingGuidance
@CampingGuidance 11 месяцев назад
Hi there! Hmm that honestly depends on how much coffee you drink. A 6 cup brews 6 concentrated shots of coffee, so I'd recommend maybe a 3 cup for most people 😊 That might be more suitable for you.
@keyable
@keyable Год назад
Can you bew 2 cups in this?
@CampingGuidance
@CampingGuidance Год назад
@Keyable Hi there! Thanks for your question! 😊 I've never tried that because I was always advised against that. I think I read somewhere that this brews 6 cups, no more, and no less. To brew just 2 cups, you'd have to buy the 2-cup Bialetti. I think that's why they sell so many different capacity options, probably because we have to be really precise about it. I hope this helps! 😊

The video by an Italian lady, Annalisa J, about how to use moka pot debunks the myths and teaches the traditional Italian way approved by Bialetti since 1933. Ignore the self-appointed coffee "experts," like Hoffman, who didn't grow up in countries where everyone uses the moka pot daily.

Preheated water does not make better tasting coffee.
@photina78
@photina78 Год назад
No, preheated water doesn't make better-tasting coffee. Italians never do that and Bialetti instructions say to use cold water, meaning cold tap water. But bottled water is better, so you can use room temperature bottled water.
@CampingGuidance
@CampingGuidance Год назад
@photina I see! Thanks for letting me know. 😊 I usually just use regular tap water, but I have read in some places that pre-heated water makes for a better tasting coffee? It could be wrong though, like you said! Noted that I should just use regular/cold tap water going forward!
@photina78
@photina78 Год назад
@@CampingGuidance I think a certain coffee expert on RU-vid started the thing about using heated water to shorten the cooking time and prevent the coffee from burning. But the coffee won't burn if we do it the traditional way by cooking it on a low flame. I use low on a gas stove, and medium-low on an electric stove.
@CampingGuidance
@CampingGuidance Год назад
@@photina78 Hahaha I think that's probably where I saw the info too! But that definitely makes sense - the coffee not burning if cooking on a low flame. 😊
