My man! As always, you nailed it. The aesthetics of the bike Is vastly improved from where i stand, and the performance will be better still. Your approach Is cool as It Is: a resto mode bike (I think of the Eleanor Mustang in Gone in 60 seconds a car equivalent). I fully enjoyed this video and got inspiration for a new project. Congrats!

Love the video and the new groupset. I'm a SRAM guy so I'm im not sure about campy but it looks good. It's a super interesting bike and I want to add something similar to my stable. :)

I have a chromoly Jamis Renegade gravel bike and love it! It's still much lighter than my main mountain bike and is nowhere near as rough as my classic Schwinn road bikes. When done correctly, steel is fantastic!

I love the idea of a #steelsummer. For a daily ride, you've got this bike dialed in! The only thing missing is a power meter. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've seen anybody do a Resto-Mod/Neo-Retro build with a power meter. One of the days I'll commit to power pedals and swap them between bikes. For now my main bike has a Quarq DZero and sees most of its use during interval workouts and events where power is critical. My "fun" bikes see more use on endurance days or when there's lulls in training and a power meter vacation is welcome. Keep up the good work! You've become one of my favorite channels!

Love the build! You couldn’t go wrong in either build that you put on that frame. I’m sure the wheels make a bit of a difference. I have the Fulcrum Racing 1’s on an 87 Trek Elance and find them a little too stiff for my liking. I’m a lightweight rider @ 150 lbs. Also @ 50 years I’m starting to desire plush over stiffness. So I have vouch for my Williams System 38 carbon clinchers. Nice ride in both builds 😊

Thank you Peter! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and share that 👍🏾 I am 5'10 ish and like my bike to have a 53 to 54.5 top tube. Bianchi is difficult to size over the decades because they have changed so much. Modern Bianchis have me between sizes 53 or 55. The CAAD10 was a 54

currently considering getting a steel bike over carbon. I just love the look of a steel round tube bike. so timeless. haven't ridden carbon or steel only aluminium, is there anything you can tell me i'll notice transitioning to either? I'm a relatively heavy for cycling weight of 92kg, I can put down a decent amount of power. In the hierarchy of stiffness/power transfer I know carbon (depending on quality) will be the stiffest but how does steel compare to aluminium? love the vids, they're very refreshing

Thank you Nicholas! 👍🏾 I have many friends your size, some heavier and they get on well with most bikes. You will notice flex if you are a masher... you just are not going to get the performance response that carbon or aluminum can deliver. There is a fluidity to steel but acceleration on surges suffers as a result... but what you get back is an amazing lively feel from the bike. Columbus Max was made to be stiffer than other tubing and I know there are others. Also, some of the newer builders are making the frames with 1 ⅛ head tube and I think that is a significant improvement. Hope that helps 👍🏾

Luis Please don't take it wrong, I have several Bianchi bikes but if you want to show off your bike next to carbon fiber get yourself a Pinarello Prestige S finished in Chromovelato with Campagnolo group set and Campagnolo light weight wheels. Let me tell you, I thought I had seen it all until I got one and they are incredible starting with internal cable routing all across. Look it up, very few videos because they were the dream bikes of yesteryear.

That’s gen1 Campy 11. The gen2 (2015+) with embrace rear derailleur and redesigned front derailleur with “arm”, is another notch better. IMO that’s Campy’s best ever groupset in terms of functionality and aesthetics. Also, dude, those loud freehubs 🤢 Give me silent any day!

@@thegoodwheel Hola.DR0HT solo es el diminutivo de la seria "Dedacciai Zero"la de tu bici !El aciero usado por Dedacciai es:18MCVD6 HT (sobre la pegatina todo es escrito).Antes el Boron fue la gama alta de la marca en aciero,,+/- cuando un aciero se acabo por HT por Heat Treated muy amenudo el grosor del tubo esta abajo 0.4 mm.Tengo un pequeño catálogo Dedacciai de 98/99,no tengo las grosores pero el dice sobre tu seria Deda Zero:resistencia a la ruptura:superior a 1400 N/mm2 , peso de los ochos tubos longitud máxima 1.344 Gramos,aunque no está mal, la que se parecía a Columbus fue la FOCO de 0.38 mm Heat Treated tambièn.Bueno te dejo,hasta pronto y un saludo !!!
