So here’s the deal, Im preparing inventory for an outdoor vendor show this August up in Portland Oregon at the church I used to attend when I lived there. (see link beliw). I figured some “BIBLE BOX GUITARS” might just get peoples attention These instruments turned out really really nice. They are “Solid Cedar” very resonate … and quite beautiful !! You gotta hear ‘em !! When I plugged this guy in to sound check I realized the piezo wasn’t working…. so I had to replace. Its working beautifully now thank God 😎

I’m not religious but I like the idea that Jesus is in the guitar and has his arms around the guitar neck. Maybe playing an open G. Rock on Del you are doing a stellar job.

I have this same box on my bench right now. It’s been sitting aside for 2-3 years now, it’s time has come. I also have another Bible box that is fancier than this . But that’s another build.

Thanks Del, great build video! I do have one question for Del of anyone else. I've done 4 builds myself so far, and although each time I'm extremely careful and precise with my fret placement, and like you explain in this video, Del, I get the proper intonation, my first three frets or so always sound sharp! I tune in open A, and when I check with my tuner, when I'm spot on with the open A tuning, the next fret, which should be a B flat, is so sharp sounding that it's almost a B. Same goes for the 2nd and sometime the 3rd fret. Does anyone else have this same issue? Again, I check my fret spacings and they are correct. Any help is appreciated!

yikes !! i suggest keep trying!!! and once you nail it just remember what you did. check for string height, nut placement, string launch point needs to be EXACT (i mean EXACT) or you will have intonation issues. double check saddle position…. rewatch my SETTING THE INTONATION videos…. good luck buddy!! don’t give up

Another great build Del. What scale neck have you used on this one as I've yet to build a double octave three stringer? The proportions look good.

Du you put some kind of oil on your necks ? I've tried a mix of linseed oil and turpentine on the CBG i'm currently building, and it's still more stickier than what I would like, after a day an some steel wool rubbing. I was quite happy with the smoothness of the neck before I applied the oil, and I'm starting to think I should have left things as they were then.

the oil usually takes a few days to really dry out. it may also have an odor for a few days or so
